Sweden sees heart attack fatality drop by half

Deaths from heart attacks in Sweden have been cut in half in the last 13 years, according to a new report.

Thirteen years ago, when Sweden began collecting statistics, nearly one in four people over the age of 75 died when suffering a heart attack.
Now heart attacks prove fatal for just over one patient in ten in that age group.
Better medicines, better treatment, as well as more regular follow ups following treatment are the primary explanations for the improvement heart attack fatality rate.
