The Local helps fulfil all your Stockholm nightlife needs this Friday in cooperation with the ever-reliable entertainment gurus from Djungeltrumman.

80s

Address: Riddarkällaren, Södra Riddarholmshamnen 19
10pm - 3am
100 kronor
Age: 18 and over

Enjoying its 11th year on the Stockholm clubscape, 80s has once again switched venues and decided to establish itself at the large Riddarkällaren venue for the foreseeable future.

The concept is of course the same as it has always been: all sorts of eighties music. From synth pop to indie, goth, rock, Italian disco, chart hits and more or less any name you can recall from the pink decade.

So for goodness sake don't forget to dress up in your eighties gear.

A black hairsprayed fringe or pink leg-warmers will also do the trick.

The club's residents go by the names DJ Life and Pauli. There are occasional special guests and 80s also sometimes holds tribute evenings for a particular eighties icon or band.

Tonight

80s pays homage to Stockholm's number one club dandy, Johan Kinde from Lustans Lakejer.

Kinde teams up behind the decks with Herr A from electro duo System. The pair will be on the middle floor and promise to only play music from 1981.

Residents DJ Life and Pauli Sudri will be playing monster hits from the eighties on the main dancefloor.

Blondie

Address: Knast, Upplandsgatan 7
9pm - 1am
Free entry
Age: 18 and over

Down among the graffiti-covered stone walls, the candlelit darkness, thick dry ice, red leather sofas and curious images of skeletons and popes, Stockholm legend Tommie X opens the doors every Friday night to his wonderfully decadent club, Blondie.

The club is a coming together of the gays and the fag hags, the media old timers and the nineteen year old barflies, bewigged anorexic monsters and confused but happy indie poppers and fashionistas.

There is room for everybody here, whether you want to dance 'til you sweat to life-affirming eurodisco or sit and make out in the black sofas.

Tonight

Blondie honours its favourite restaurant McDonald´'s with an evening filled with cheeseburger eating competitions and Happy Vodka Meals, while also welcoming clubgoers dressed as Ronald McDonald or a French fry.

Breathless

Address: Bonden Bar, Bondegatan 1
8pm - 1am
Free entry
Age: 20 and over
Website

Old favourite Breathless has dusted itself off and set up shop down in the recently refurbished Bonden Bar cellar. DJ FilmFredrik is in place every Friday to play everything from Pixies to Peaches, The Kinks to The Knife, Sonic Youth to The Smiths and Modest Mouse to Magnetic Fields. And much, much more of course.

Tonight

FilmFredrik receives a visit from Karin Idering, who will be playing all her favourite records for the second time in quick succession.

Heimat

Address: Landet, LM Ericssons Väg 27
8pm - 1am
20 and over
Age: 40 kronor
Website

The Hell on Wheels gang's little monthly club Heimat keeps on rolling with great live bands and all sorts of well chosen DJs coming to Landet's people's park-like bar out at Telefonplan.

Tonight

A live performance from none other than Three Is A Crowd (TIAC), while Peter Nilsson from CDOASS pays a visit to the DJ booth.

Julia

Address: Restaurangen, Oxtorgsgatan 14
9pm - 1am
Free entry
Age: 20 and over
Website

The media crowd's favourite hang-out is back. After a summer expedition to Spymlan and earlier escapades at Riche, Berns and Tranan, Fredrik Virtanen and Tom Pyl have finally found their way back home to safety.

Every Friday the media elite makes a pilgrimage to the bar section of Melker Andersson's very fine Restaurangen where they listen to soft rock, west coast pop, mature soul, friendly pop, FM rock, singalong anthems and camp fire standards. Fredrik and Tom are often joined by guest DJs who are not entirely unknown.

Klubb Gås

Address: Bar 122, Folkungagatan 122
10pm - 3am
30 kronor
Age: 18 and over
Website

The Gås (goose) guys continue to spread the word of rock on Fridays and Saturdays at Bar 122, just a bit away from Folkungagatan.

Resident DJs - Mr Jubran on Fridays and Julius Berlin on Saturdays - keep things moving with a heady blend of rock, garage, punk rock, '77 punk, stoner, and indie rock.

LOVE

Address: Marie Laveau, Hornsgatan 66
10pm - 3am
100 kronor
Age: 20 and over
Website

Four of the city's most diligent DJs combine their loving hearts in a bid to bring pop back to the dance floor.

Terry Ericsson, Lång-Kalle, Miriam Pemberton and Magdalena Lublin hold their LOVE club every second Friday on both floors of the ever popular Marie Laveau - up in the bar and down on the sweaty dancefloor.

Aside from the residents, there will also be wonderful guests playing favourites from four decades of pop.

On each occasion the club also awards a free dinner date to a couple of its choice.

Tonight

Fourth time lucky for LOVE as the people behind the fantastic music blog PSL drop in for a visit.
