It's the last weekend of the month, which in Sweden means that everyone has money again. Check out our tips for a great Saturday night.

2.35;1

Address: Berns, Berzelii Park
9pm – 4am
150 kronor
Age: 23 and over
Website

The new Berns has undergone a major facelift and has recently reclaimed its undeniable place as one of the city’s biggest, best and most ambitious nightclubs.

Walk in through the hotel entrance, go down the stairs and you will discover a gigantic floor space with more than enough room for dancing, getting to know people and hanging around in the lounge in a nice dark environment with the freshest clientele in town.

In terms of music, Berns plays everything from hip-hop to house, jazz and soul. There’s also a major focus on art exhibitions, film viewings and other visual treats.

Bangers´n´Mash

Address: Marie Laveau, Hornsgatan 66
10pm - 3am
100 kronor
Age: 23 and over
Website

Inseparable Anglophiles Robert Plaszczyk and Magnus Carlson (Weeping Willows) run the incredibly popular Bangers'n'Mash club together with former Ride guitarist and current Oasis bassist Andy Bell

Every second Saturday they get the dancefloor moving to the baggiest Madchester, singalong Britpop and ravetastic acid house for all the Stockholm geezers in need of more excitement in their lives.

They have also brought over a steady flow of celebrities from England, including previous guests Mani, Peter Hook, Carl Barat, Dot Allison and Ian McCulloch.

Fritz´s Corner

Address: Debaser Slussen, Karl Johans Torg 1
8pm - 3am
100 kronor (60 kronor for members)
Age: 18 and over (20 for members)
Website

Fritz's Corner is one of the city's oldest and most popular rock clubs. Every Saturday sees an offering of wonderfully interesting live bands from Södermalm and abroad, as well as a busy dancefloor shaking to everything from electro pop to rock'n'roll.

Klubb Gås

Address: Bar 122, Folkungagatan 122
10pm - 3am
30 kronor
Age: 18 and over
Website

The Gås (goose) guys continue to spread the word of rock on Fridays and Saturdays at Bar 122, just a bit away from Folkungagatan.

Resident DJs - Mr Jubran on Fridays and Julius Berlin on Saturdays - keep things moving with a heady blend of rock, garage, punk rock, '77 punk, stoner, and indie rock.

O-Baren

Address: O-Baren, Stureplan 2
9pm - 2am
Free entry
Age: 21 and over
Website

O-Baren located right at the back of the luxury Sturehof restaurant, is like a little oasis in the middle of Stureplan. Here you can be certain of avoiding DJ Bobo, Basshunter and champagne-spraying brats. Instead Lorenzo and Nicke at the bar always make sure there are some top notch DJs playing some of the best rock, indie, electro, soul, house and disco in town.

Postcard from Scotland

Address: Bonden Bar, Bondegatan 1
8pm - 1am
50 kronor
Age: 20 and over
Website

There's a school of thought among indie pop fans that classifies Scotland as a country at the very forefront of the pop scene. With a history including the old C-86 wave and classic bands like Teenage Fanclub, The Pastels and The Vaselines, as well as indie legends such as The Jesus and Mary Chain and eighties Primal Scream, it's difficult not to agree.

Postcard from Scotland constitutes an attempt to bring a little piece of Scottish pop music to Stockholm and the classic Bonden Bar cellar.

Expect all sorts of Scottish music, with actual Scots often flown in to play live or pay a visit to the DJ booth.

Tonight

A very welcome visit from none other than Aidan Moffat (Arab Strap etc.) who will be DJing for the evening.

Raw Fusion

Address: Mosebacke, Mosebacke Torg 3
10pm - 2am
100 kronor
Age: 20 and over
Website

The years roll on but Raw Fusion remains, and it does so with considerable aplomb. Everyone who's anyone has played here, at least in the realms of funk, soul, deep house, disco, broken beats or hip hop. Carl Craig, Kerri Chandler, Jazzanova, UFO and Giles Peterson have all been here.

Mad Mats is host of the club that nowadays runs just once a month. He is assisted by MC Aaron Phiri and residents Asparagus, Richard Masip and Cornelisrummet's Brasse-Agge.

Tonight

Raw fusion celebrates its twelfth anniversary in style with Eric Rico from LA, a soul singer reckoned to be right up there with Dwele and D'Angelo.

Saturday Light

Address: Nordic Light Hotel, Vasaplan 7
10pm - 2am
Free entry
Age: 23 and over
Website

Nordic Light's beautifully designed bar offers a fantastic Saturday hang-out with four alternating clubs a month.

There's Housewives with La Fleur and Adeline Supreme and their house and electro party.

There's underground party collective Socially Hazardous.

There's the unpretentious, intimate and energetic Piggly Wiggly.

And, finally, there's the club collective and music blog 24:Hours.

Tonight

It's the turn of 24:Hours.
