A rowdy night in Hovsjö in Södertälje culminated in gunshots and vandalism. The disturbances began at about 10 o’clock on Friday evening when shots were fired into the air or into the hillside from a pistol or similar weapon, according to Johan Sjöholm, then duty officer at Sodertälje Police Station.

After midnight, a gang of some ten youths rampaged through the area, hurling a bicycle through a window into one flat and throwing stones at another.

“The youths also destroyed two police cars sent out to investigate the shots,” said Johan Sjöholm.”

No arrests have been made yet as no witnesses have come forward.
