Smaller parties who don't have a hope of being voted into Government alone may have it all to gain by joining an alliance. They do so in order that some of their more radical policies may become reality and for a platform for them to be heard.
The Social Democrats however should have policies based on strong party values to tempt the voters with and with a strong leadership team that the public believe in would be enough to secure enough support. Sadly they have the ineffectual Mona Sahlin to lead them. She lacks basic political skills, shows no values, little intelligence or debating skills. The greatest political lightweight in Sweden's history. She actually achieves what should be impossible and that is to make Reinfeldt look good. I presume the reason why she is not ousted is a very Swedish thing and that is failure to take responsibility for fear of blame.
I loathe politicians.
