Thirsty Swede jailed over snot attack

A Swede has been jailed for attacking a cashier at a branch of a state monopoly alcohol retailer, Systembolaget, on the Baltic island of Öland.

The 32-year-old man was sentenced to four months imprisonment on Friday by the court in Borgholm, on Öland, an island off the coast of south-eastern Sweden.

The man went on trial for threatening behaviour and harassment following the incident at the local Systembolaget store in September 2008, local newspaper Barometern reports.

The thirsty Swede visited the branch with the intention of buying half a dozen bottles of cider only to discover at the cash desk that he had no means in his wallet with which to fund his purchase.

As the cashier began to collect back in the bottles, the man put his finger to his nostril, blew hard and showered the hapless shop assistant with the contents of his nasal passage.

The attack left the cashier wiping the disgruntled drinker's mucus from her chin. It has now given her assailant a period behind bars to reflect on the error of his aim.

What's up with this?! The dodgy actions of some people are just way too unbelievable anymore!

this is sick behavior, BUT that lady also happens to be working at a place that has a monopoly on an addictive and overpriced poison that ruins peoples lives. Alcohol isnt even a drug, it is a toxic chemical, some drugs cause less harm, there is no reason at all why it is still being pushed, specially by the government, maybe for once a tentacle of state got what it deserved? yeah i said that!

It would have been even cooler if the snot had landen in her throat. And yes, the systembolaget monopoly is sickening; actually! Did you see the kilometre long line for people looking to buy some booze yesterday? It is reminiscent of the images one used to see of bread lines from the old soviet union.

sweden has way too many drunks, and its way too socially acceptable, yet smoking weed is so frowned on by the media and pop culture here that you'd think it was worse than alcohol, the fact of the matter is that without the alcohol induced stupidity swedes dont know how to socialize, and whats even worse is that weed will never be allowed to replace this poison as a healthier intoxicant cuz the government wont be able to profit off it like they do booze. and it would put the pigs out of business cuz we all know that alcohol and drug prohibition fuels 90% of petty crime.

So, peropaco, just cos she happens to work at Systembolaget, she deserves snot down her throat? I'm no fan of Systemet either but come on, nobody desrves that

It doesn't matter that this incident took place at Systembolaget. That's incidental. What matters is that this drunken reprobate didn't have any money to pay for his 7.5% cider and took his frustration out on the cashier. The fact that she works for Sweden's evil alcohol monopoly is also incidental. She was doing her job, and doing it properly. His actions were completely uncalled for and indefensible.

So just what caliber is that firearm that "they" use to force people to buy alcohol, eh? Self-inflicted harm & this is from one who has done the self-inliction. Granted society encourages the use evan the abuse of alcohol but you are responsible for repeated abuse - not the wage-slave clerks at the liquor store. Rant over.

This is unbelievable behavior!! Blowing your snots at a cashier! He shouldn't get a jail sentence, he should be permanently banned from entering the Systembolaget!

32 years old .... snot from the mans nasal passage.

I am surprised the judge didn't order him to pay 30 million to the RIAA.

As its quite obvious he was helping to pass over viruses outside of the pirate bay.
