Daycare centre ordered to repay fees

Complaints by a group of parents about inadequate supervision at a Stockholm child daycare centre in Stockholm have been upheld by the National Board for Consumer Complaints (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden – ARN).
The parents stated that two children had wandered away from the centre unnoticed by the staff, and that a girl had been badly burned by a hot serving dish. Ten other incidents came to light when the group began comparing notes.
The incidents were reported to the National Agency for Education (Skolverket), which found that the daycare centre had failed to maintain adequate supervision. The pre-school has since tightened up some of its procedures.
