Bearing in mind Sweden has not had a serious economic downturn for a very long time (90,s not counting as was,nt serious) and largely people are complacent and smug that it will NEVER go bad here........when things do go downhill in sweden, there is almost a perfect receipe for a widespread right wing revival in the future. I hope it wont happen but........
The mentality in the uk as and example is totally different......much more friendly and accepting of different races.
Oh dear where to start? You do realise that if you turn 360° you're back facing the same direction you started from? This seems appropriate though for a people that seems to have been remarkably "liberal" for their age, travelling and trading with most of Europe, marrying foreigners and brining foreign influences back to Scandinavia.
Also, the Swedish Riksdag has always recognised Sharia law as it would be very difficult to sell IKEA or Volvo in many Muslim countries if we refused to accept contracts agreed under Sharia law as valid in Sweden. The same applies to marriages (Swedes have a proud history of marrying foreigners), divorces, adoptions etc.
lastly, 100's of thousands of Muslims would still be a too small minority to get a single representative in parliament without support from other Swedish citizens. Might be that we need to improve our Constitution so that Parliament might represent all people, including those who have their day of rest on Fridays?
It is also the immigrants fault because as an immigrant your role goal should be to become part of the culture that you are moving into. I am not saying that is their fault completely because there will always be people who do not accept them; however, if they are able to adapt themselves to the culture and try to integrate themselves as a member of the new society that has open the doors for them, it will be much easier for them to be accepted by the natives; this might not always be the case, since they will always be ignorant people who’s intelligent is not enough to allow them to understand and accept other cultures, but over all it will make it a whole lot easier.
I am not advocating for people to abandon their roots and try to become Swedes, why I am suggesting is that people can integrate to society and adopt new customs while at the same time maintaining their ethnic roots. Here in the US for example there are many groups of immigrants that complain that Americans discriminate against them and that
“White people” are against immigrants. But that is not the way things are, for the most part. Many immigrants that come to NY and make no effort to learn the language or to do any thing productive that might help them integrate to the society, instead they leave isolated in their neighborhoods in many cases joining gangs, behaving in disorderly manner and complaining about how much they hate “white people” for not liking them. Not all immigrants are like this, but those who do, set a bad reputation for the one that are willing to make an effort.
hahaha Let's expect that German xenophobic right-wingers see him as a threat. LOL
