Company name: Country Inn Casa Mazzoni

Interviewee: Owner and manager, Angelo Guzzi

What inspired you to start the company?

After travelling to 27 countries over four continents, and doing a wealth of different jobs on the way, I discovered Tuscany and decided on a better life.

There is a pure calmness to this place and the property was too big for me on my own. So I decided to share my paradise with guests.

Tell us a little about your background

Where do I start? After a life spent travelling around the world there's a lot to tell. But in short, Tuscany discovered me and I've been here now for the past 26 years.

What's the nicest thing a customer has ever said about your company?

The most frequent thing I hear is: "Angelo, i came here as a client and now we leave as friends."

Describe the customer experience.

Keep in mind that if Tuscany is the heart of Italy, our area is the soul. Country Inn Casa Mazzoni is a rural hotel made of stone, surrounded by a impressive forest and beneath one of the highest peaks of the Maremma mountains. If ever you visit, you will have the privilege of enjoying breathtaking panoramic views.

When you finish the day's activities, a taste of homemade food is offered on the Casa Mazzoni menu. All dishes are made with local produce with influence from all regions of Italy. Casa Mazzoni also has its own wine cellar with 150 wines as an accompaniment.

If I contact your company, will your staff be able to speak English?

Of course! I speak fluent English, German, Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese.

What's the strangest request you have ever had?

It sounds a little crazy, but a guest once asked me to make some noise early in the morning. Since he wasn't used to the silence, he found it hard to sleep!

What is your biggest-selling product?

At my inn we mostly of course red wines and grappa which our guests enjoy. There are so many features to enjoy in this idyllic place. Casa Mazzoni has a bar, breakfast buffet, restaurant, disabled rooms, safes, laundry, dry cleaning and car and bike rental.

What is your coolest product?

Our guided excursions throughout the region is one of the best product that we offer.

Describe your company in three words.

Magic, colourful, endlessly green.

What makes your company innovative?

Our service. From our breakfast in the morning, our search for food and wines

and technology like speedy wifi and our camera in the kitchen so that everybody can see what we are cooking. Such things as innovative for us.

Describe your future vision for the company.

We want visitors to know Tuscany life the natives do. Casa Mazzoni is a wonderful place to spend vacations. Imagine following in the footsteps of Benigni, Bocelli, Dante, Petrarca, Michelangelo or even Leonardo. This is Tuscany and Casa Mazzoni is a part of it.
