Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic was honoured on Monday for the world's most spectacular goal of 2013, but he missed out on the Fifa Ballon d'Or prize for the world's best footballer.
Ibrahimovic took home the 2013 Puskas Award for a spectacular bicycle kick goal in a friendly match against England.
Although the goal was scored in late 2012, it occurred after the voting process for last year's award had ended and could be included int his year's round-up. The incredible long-range strike was one of four goals scored by Ibrahimovic in Sweden's 4-2 home win against England in November 2012.

After England goalkeeper Joe Hart failed to get enough distance on a clearing header from the top of the penalty area, Ibrahimovic leapt up and unleashed a mid-air scissors kick that sent the ball sailing into the net 25 metres away.
England captain Steven Gerrard called the eye-popping strike the best goal he had ever seen.
The Puskas Award, named after Hungarian footballing legend Ferenc Puskas, is awarded based on fan voting on Fifa.com and francefootball.fr, with Ibrahimovic picking up 48.7 percent of the votes, well ahead of runner up Nemanja Matic of Serbia, who received 30.8 percent of the votes.
The 32-year-old Swede found himself missing the Ballon d'Or nod on Monday evening, however, as Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo was named the world's best footballer.
