The heatwave that hit most of Sweden last week is set to continue until Wednesday at least, according to Swedish weather forecaster, SMHI.

Lisa Frost, a meteorologist at SMHI said, “The weather really is perfect as we’ll have some days of hot temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, with light evening showers, until Wednesday, when it will become a little cooler and some more, heavier, showers will roll across the country.”

”In particular, over the next couple of evenings, there is a little chance of rain and thunderstorms, mainly in Svealand and southern Norrland.”

”The highest temperature of the year, 31.8 degrees, was on Midsummer Eve in Målilla and it does not look like we will reach quite there this time,” said Frost

”This is great weather for peak vacation season here in Sweden. However, it’s not much fun for those sitting inside who just get to look out the window.”

However, make the most of the warmth as, by the end of the week, rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout Sweden, as well as chillier temperatures of between 15 and 20 degrees.
