A man was raped near a metro station in southern Stockholm in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man, who is 19-years-old, was on his way home from Skärmarbrink metro station at 4am on Sunday morning when he was attacked and raped at knife point by an unknown assailant.

"It has occurred outside. It has occurred at knife point. We have a vague description, but the victim is in shock and has not yet been capable of a thorough interview," said Hans Wiksten at Stockholm police on Sunday morning.

After the attack the man was taken into the care of South Stockholm General Hospital's rape unit.

just horrifying to read.

If the culprit is found, he should have his tallywaga cut and fed to him.

As with any rape, this is a gross violation of a victims body, mind and spirit.

You know, back in the day, if a thief was caught, they would cut off his hands. Inhumane?? Well dont thief then. Maybe it would be an idea to bring back some of these punishments. There would be less thefts.

Or maybe just for rapists, cut the guys korv off. He wont do it again, and it would be one less looser without the ability (easily) to make more of himself.

But wait, was the dude wearing a low cut dress, or tank top, because then it would be OK because he was "asking for it."

Is it me or are these articles getting shorter and shorter? How long before there are just headlines? This isn't my primary source of finding out what is going on in Sweden but a bit more depth would be good.

I am sure part of journalism is the ability to be able to answer the questions your readers want answering - I don't class this as journalism.
16:37 June 21, 2009 by vladd777
yup..things have certainly changed since i visited here for the first time in 1982..from south africa!
17:23 June 21, 2009 by Jenta
Spy - what exactly are you asking for? If news agencies haven't released any further details on this case, what do you want the Local to do? Pad the article out to double its size with a load of irrelevant facts, speculation, waffle and personal opinions? Or just report the available facts?
17:45 June 21, 2009 by diegoveggie
what's with all these rapes in stockholm lately? man, i think they are just too humane with rapists here in sweden. they (us?) should def. chop their penises off and put them in some dark basement with a horny bull for a good couple of years, so they think about what they did.
18:04 June 21, 2009 by villjobba
Wait a minute y'all talking about cutting of the perpetrator's manhood and wondering whether the victim was dressed like a female. What if the rapist was a woman? What a sexist thing for you all to just assume that only a man can rape and that only women can be raped! In my country, we have a very progressive and non sexist rape law that punishes "whoever" forces "another person" to have non consensual sexual intercourse with them for the offence of rape-and thereby giving the offence a definition that recognises rape as a two way thing.

It's well substantiated that perpetrators of violent crimes are not dissuaded by the guarantee of swift and harsh punishment.

For 90% crimes in Sweden is responsible Migrationsverket.

No queations!!!

No questions, no guess and no conclusions too without valid information and authentic data please. People who get into such brutal acts have no particular nationality, race or religion. There must be better way to deal with this psychos rather than national extremism.

Though it is true that they, like most government employees are not the nicest people in the world this sort of thing isn't really their area of life wrecking.

Ohh, thats horrific. Even guys are not safe now. I never heard of guys getting raped otherwise!

The rapist should be hanged! Yes, I have no sympathy for those who inflicts pain on innocent people.
00:02 June 22, 2009 by Random Guy
the police will have no time to catch the rapist as they are spending all their time going after file share'ers!

at least the big company's will be safe to walk the streets with their dollars!

Sweden is too soft on criminals

in Kenya woman , especially old women are now learning self defence skills which end in the victim being cut with sharp iron.

I say though the penis should be cut off and if it's a woman ( this is a bit harsh) maybe the clit.

I'm shocked noone has blamed immigrants yet.
07:44 June 22, 2009 by Yendor79
I"m sorry but the biggest shortcoming I'm seeing here is journalism...
10:53 June 22, 2009 by enilorac
yes the biggest shortcoming is journilism, they could given us a background on the history of rape cases in sweden and how the statistics are changing. They could have spoken about the types of crime that have been predominant in stackholm or other parts of sweden. anything to make the reader feel satisfied and that they got something of value
14:12 June 22, 2009 by Hans71
Another devastating story that is added to the list of Europe's number 1 rape country
14:22 June 22, 2009 by Paulo +fab muscular than Jonnhy
Firstly and most difficult, they'll have to find out how to make an authentic recipe of Italian "prosciutto crudo", and with the remainings of the two pigs quite few extra pounds of 'salumi'.
16:28 June 22, 2009 by Localer
is that easy to rape a man ?

even though with the knife point, at one point that man can easily escape..

that's my point...
18:10 June 22, 2009 by Paulo +fab muscular than Jonnhy
Yes, it is definetely. Wait untill you meet Coach Sonya (@ 2:14 and 05:48 in the link).

As awful as this crime is, a just society does not commit such acts as penectomies or female genital mutilation. If you support such practices, I suggest you look in to relocating to Somalia, or perhaps Iran. I have a strong belief that many marching in the streets of the Tehran would gladly trade places with you. Also, to suggest that immigrants and the like are responsible for the crime in Sweden plays right in to the hands of the xenophobic, racist groups. It is my hope that the perpetrator is apprehended and serves his (or her, however this is unlikely) time.

If it was a man...find him and castrate him! If it was a woman...stupid man..
20:20 June 23, 2009 by Gwrhyr
Are you kidding? There was a knife involved. Maybe the rapist wouldn't have actually used it if the guy who was raped resisted and tried to get away, but then again, maybe said rapist would have... hence the entire reason the rapist had the knife in the first place: to force compliance with the threat of serious harm.

One of my friends who is a man was mugged at knife point which was a harrowing and disturbing experience for him... would your first response be "Oh the mugger only had a knife, you could have just run away, and since you were afraid of the knife you're a weakling who deserved getting mugged"?

I know you didn't say that the guy deserved it in this case, but your response shows an insensitivity and misunderstanding of the actual situation that happened to to this guy, most likely because you've never been in a situation where you were seriously threatened with bodily harm,

I don't expect much but in this case I was disappointed.

Plus this site has the power to pick and choose relevant content rather than have it forced upon it by newswires (unless you know something I don't).

There is no monopoly on information - it spreads freely. A litmus test is that if the story can not answer the simple questions its readers ask then it is either too weak or not researched enough to run. This, I think, is the latter.

Are some of you people seriously suggesting you don't know what is going on in Sweden, do these news really come as a surprise to someone?

Sheesh.
