Two Swedish police officers stripped down naked and were offered “extra” treatment on recent visits to massage parlors.

By going above and beyond the call of duty, however, the two undercover officers were able to expose a prostitution ring stretching from Stockholm north to Gävle in eastern Sweden, the Metro newspaper reports.

A 60-year-old Stockholm resident has been charged on suspicions of running brothels in five massage parlors.

The brothels were discovered after two male police officers working undercover visited two separate massage parlors and agreed to take their clothes off.

After stripping, each officer was offered “extra” genital treatment.

“An unusual, but legal method of investigation,” said one of the officers.

In addition to the 60-year-old, a 27-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were also charged for the extensive pimping operation.

Did the investigation have a happy ending? ;)

"extra" genital treatment means they had to use tweezers and magnify glass to find it...

...I sure there is more to this story cumming...

And once these establishments are shut down, where the heck are the customers going to get their sexual enjoyment; especially if they already have to pay for it?

Are they going to turn to rape?

Goodness gracious society, get over brothels.

hmmm so that was how the investigation went ended.anyway spending the tax payer money on unnecessary uncover for nothing sake. well keep on enjoying this.

If that is how Swedish cops go "above and beyond the call of duty" there should be a mile-long queue of would-be young recruits outside their doors this morning.

Sweden used to be an example to the world of social liberalism - it's gone so far backwards under Moderaterna.
14:11 June 24, 2009 by jones2
Sorry, Britswedeguy, but Sweden has never been socially liberal (at least not by comparison to other European countries). The country's prostitution laws, alcohol laws and drugs laws were all the idea of the Social Democrats.

Every brothel and massage parlour closed means more rape and (sexual) violence against women. Sweden already tops the list.
20:04 June 24, 2009 by Miss Kitten
Okay, just so were clear...

A lack of brothels/massage parlors is not going to lead to an increase in rapes. People do not turn into rapists because of a lack of "sexual enjoyment." Rapists rape for the pure sadistic "pleasure" of torturing and violating another human being. Rape is not sex. It's a brutally violent act which is acted out of a compulsion to commit violence.

Making sex available for purchase would likewise do nothing to decrease rapes. That's completely missing the whole "point" of rape. They get off on the violence of it. Why would they want to buy themselves a willing partner? That would take all the "fun" out of it for them.
21:02 June 24, 2009 by LadyDrinkKing
Well, good work, you uncovered a place where consenting adults agree to do something fun together. Unless of course the woman was a sex slave, which is possible if prostitution is ILLEGAL and thus the women cannot go to the police for assistance.

Why not legalize prostitution so the police can focus their efforts on real criminals, the human traffickers can be put out of business, and law abiding citizens who need a little strange once in a while can get on with their productive lives?
22:25 June 24, 2009 by spy
Miss Kitten.

Well said - completely right - rape is centred on violence, total domination and taking by force without agreement.

Brothels are about the agreement of all parties to have sex.

I still think the savory tart and trombone story is the best piece of Swedish police work.
23:57 June 24, 2009 by jack sprat
I dont entirely disagree, but I think yours is a very simplistic view and there are times when motivation could be for a combination of reasons.

Despite much research, there are very few ,if any, accurate statistics for a number of reasons relating to rape and motivation in different countries.

However where sex is readily available on the cheap as in quite a few countries I would think it would have at least some affect on the statistics.

Surely sex is way to strong a human impulse to think that one can ban it without consequence. But that doesn't necessarily mean it drives people to rape. Perhaps one example is denying sex to catholic priests and seeing what happens there!

Perhaps a more realistic suggestion is that some men turn to serial one night stands. Probably not what the feminists had in mind when they try and ban prostitution. Ironically some of them may then become unpaid stand-in prostitutes.

woah there ... you can arguably extend the prostitution analogy (at a stretch) to marriages where one or other partner is primarily interested in the material wealth of the other (and has divorce/adultery in mind from the start) ... but I'm not sure the analogy can be reasonably made for one-night stands between consenting adults where no money changes hands
