A man was seriously assaulted by a gang of youths in Umeå on Friday night.

The man, who has not been named, noticed the youths urinating on his fence in a terrace housing area in the Ersboda neighborhood, and went outside to tell them to stop. He was then set upon by the gang of six to eight youths and viciously assaulted.

The man was kicked, and beaten with weapons including sticks and a shovel. He suffered serious head injuries and a broken arm, and remains in intensive care.

“We are working to collect witness information. We still do not have any reasonable suspects, but we are following certain lines of inquiry,” said Kenneth Jonsson, Västerbotten police’s officer in command.

thought this kind of stuff did not happen in Sweden ... looks like a typical headline in a british newspaper
12:46 July 4, 2009 by Playmaker
another example of letting good people own guns. if this guy came out to protect is property and then they tried to rush him. well i pistol could of saved this innocent man from a group of thugs.

It is better to be tried by 12 then carried by 6.

or however many jury people there are in sweden.
13:02 July 4, 2009 by Harding00
The youth in Europe in general are getting out of hand. I have talked to a couple people from Britain who say this kind of thing is the norm. And the same is true with the Netherlands. But if they're under 15 years old, oh darn, they can't get in trouble, Swedish law doesn't allow that. As for a jury, there is no juries in Sweden. Only a main judge and some other judges to decide a case, and often they look at the law in black and white, never seeing the gray (ie: someone kills someone in self defense)
00:45 July 5, 2009 by dtes
what does it say about swedens pathetic self defense laws? specially when they import this scum! i dont wanna live amongst it!
12:19 July 5, 2009 by bigmikey
Where do these kids live? They likely have parents and a home locally. Another example of youth not respecting adults and other's property, and getting away with it. Consequences are the best learning tool.
13:49 July 5, 2009 by Harding00
As for what I said about self defense, there's was an article here about a man who tried killing his ex-girlfriend, but since her dog attacked him while he was trying to kill her, the man got a reduced sentence! Sure it wasn't "normal" self defense (it was the dog who tried protecting the owner), but why should the courts have lowered his sentence because of that?

Yeah thats pretty fu**ed up. RocknRoll is right. Sounds like what punk azz youths in Britain do. Punk azz kids nowadays thinks its cute to gang up on a lone individual and assualt them. Ill soon be getting a masters degree and making tons of money here in US and plan to travel around the world. I just hope man that I get attacked by a bunch of these european untalented losers;they better have good social healthcare cuz Im gonna literally kill them. STERN WARNING HERE EUROPE. Dont fu**with this american!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some fellas are so brave in the internetz, aren't they? hahahahhahaha I'm pretty sure they worth less than 50 cents in the real world.
17:47 July 5, 2009 by The Opinionator
*sighs* ... I think old fashioned ass spanking needs to make a comeback - seriously. That was when parents had control over their kids. Now that its been taken away, more and more kids are running around braver than anything because they know they're UNTOUCHABLE. Its just all wrong. They're getting away with too much BUT .... that's the way it is. Too bad so sad.
17:54 July 5, 2009 by slickscott
DreEstwd these were not immigrants I believe this time. They were white trash unemployed and futureless youths who somehow were able to get money for booze by applying their trade on their hands and knees. Its funny that whites can gang up on people but get them alone and they are well...... just another timid white person

'nuff said

Slickscott ...... WORD.

I totally agree with what you just said.
18:16 July 5, 2009 by shpongle
as opposed to the brown and black people? people are cowards, simple as that.

anyway if they are Swedish the most surprising is that they have 5-7 friends which they hang out with lol

But ofc can very well be a mixed gang as well.

how about this, good night white pride, and goodridance to importing ignorants of any kind into our so called civilized societies, AND lets figure out how to pry hollywood from the brains of our youth , along with abolishing religion and nationalism and self imposed retardation, and while we are at it lets do away with the need for police and governments as we know them today by EVOLVING OUR SOCIETY AS A WHOLE BY DOING AWAY WITH ALL OF THE ABOVE. sound like a familiar plea? ive been begging for years!
22:45 July 5, 2009 by Coalbanks
"sh*t & p*ss" are profanities? OK Auntie here's my bowdlerized version: Sentence them to a month of scrubbing excreta, urine, blood, saliva from buildings, streets, sidewalks, parking lots while dressed in bright pink coverals followed by a year of meaningful probation (attending school, training or working) or back to the scrubbing. Likeliehood of that happening is...?
23:31 July 5, 2009 by jack sprat
In other words the country needs a major rebellion, by those who really care about it.

The likelyhood of that is about one in a billion, as the brainwashed population has been ingrained to accept that someone else always knows whats best for them.

I am sure the gentleman was mistaken. These lads were only spraying the fence with a wood preservative

DreEstwd get your facts right before jumping to conclusions and offering intellectually challenged solutions. Those who read the local paper containing the story will tell you that all the youths are local, native and indigenous. How on earth your brilliant mind arrived at the conclusion, well, ordinary folks like yours truly will not fathom. Assuming you have something close to a normal-sized functioning brain, you will discern the value of your brilliant conclusion, and the effectiveness of your ingenious solution would be. It's brainless racists like you who always imagine all foreigners are scrambling for the same social benefits that you obviously survive on. Get a life! I guess a short trip to the shrink and some vuxenutbildning will help you you.

The title of this story creates the mental picture of the idiots urinating whist bashing the man
