How on earth can this be?????
Do these places not get a complete inspection before they are allowed to open and again shortly afterwards?
I seen some right grubby looking hombres working in some of these joints.
Tend to avoid them if possible, unless I know them well.
I think we have to blame whom is incharge first before we blame the MONEY MAKERS ..

These people show little respect for their customers and for the potential effects of food poisoning.
Just shows how lax are the health authorities. They should immediately cancel the licenses for these restuarants and everything will be spick and span in a week across Sweden. Moreover there should be mandatory checks every week at each restuarant. Why do we pay taxes?
Ruff!
Answer? It ain't pizza: it's that other stuff!
What about all of the other restaurants and cafes in Halmstad?
I bet some of these would fail most of basic standards of hygiene mentioned in the article.
Perhaps it is time that the Health authorities have a "name and shame" system thereby putting the burden of proof to maintain high standards of hygiene back onto the owner.
How many of these are repeat offenders?
They also tend to target eateries who have had complaints against them.
So probably a mix of a slightly dodgy gut (probably caused by the 10 stor stark poured down the throat before the pizza was eaten) and a few cases of the "Filthy Turk" syndrome, complaining for the sake of it.
Gave us a grand total of 61 fails.
Wow, i'll never eat another pizza.
What ain't kill ya makes ya stronger.

Fortunately because they are so floppy the pizza flipped when I picked it up and lo and behold baked into the bottom was a whole load of fluff. paper and other crap.
Needless to say that is the end of pizzas in Sweden for me until Dominos arrive.
*likely just after the photos were shot, the cleaning schedule took place?*
If you plebs want to eat from these eye sores on the pretext you are eating real pizza, then you get what you deserve.
....according to a food safety inspector.
I wonder just how bad they thought it would be????
I wonder just how often they carry out checks for such a high percentage to be in such a desperate condition?
It appears that the inspectors themselves may be just as responsible as the owners to allow things to get as bad as they have.
Have they been hibernating all winter or for the last few years while the grubby, filthy owners took advantage of insufficient supervision?
I notice that many of these places are run solely by dirty, greasy looking guys and have often thought that with a few more women on the job, the hygiene standards might at least be a little better.
I once thought that there was some method to the madness on how to make the worst tasting pizza known to man, found uniformly accross the country. Now I know what the special sauce dabbed on top is.
Just the other day a few restaurants were inspected and closed in Rome due to the fact that they did not comply with sanitary standards. Furthermore, a significant number of these restaurants were run by *Italians*, actually by Romans to be more precisely.
I wonder how you would be treated in your own country --- hypothetically figuring out you are from Southern Italy and eventually had migrated to the northern part of it. Does judging people like you do help you enhance your self-esteem?
