"Racist, no, you are a racist!" Gee, that's boring. What is racist about not being comfortable with a religion in which the woman does not have the same rights as the man? Is Sweden a democracy, a secular state? The man had an opinion, a stand, and finally a suggestion (bad or good). The reaction was dismantling : "You're a racist."... and fired.

Is there any religion where they teach that women and men have the same rights?

We always talk about Hitler who hated Jews and caused that disaster. Why don't we put an end to this Islamophobia and apparent racism? It's not just 1950s. Last week we had another case who hated Muslims. His hatred led to 18 knife stabbs. Should 6 million Muslim get killed by supporters of far right groups to start taking action against this?

I'm afraid that people like eurostan and totys should also take some lessons that in the 21st century hatred and fascsism has no place. We don't want to see what we saw last week in German's court or 60 years ago in Europe.

What Hitler did was a huge mistake and it cannot be justified. But this will not take away the right to criticise a certain ideology or defend the secular state. I think that some immigrants abuse Europe when they face a problem by accusing a state of being racist, and the big problem is that Europeans just buy that. I don't how. Is it a feeling of guilt for Hitler's mistake?

Religions doesn't have anything good to offer to the secular state. Its moral ideas is based on our knowledge about ourself more than 2000 years ago. And you cannot even argue with religious people. They are intolerant enough to call you a racist and bear disrespect to the sacred values of religions. Radical religious people did not bother to read more and en light themselves with different kind of knowledge than reading from one book.

If the matter goes to court then everything is taken seriously. But, outside the court I see many racists. They make indirekt racist comments. It can be anyone from the society. I cannot take the whole world to the court.

Islam is a religion, and in a free and democratic society everyone has the right to criticize religion, just as the religious have the right to criticize the non-religious. I think that when Europeans act as if Islam is an ethnicity it is racist and misinformed, it leads to Europeans classing all dark-skinned immigrants into one group, and it is the reason that many Europeans are clueless about the Islamic world and think that Turks and Iranians and Somalians all speak Arabic (I heard this a lot from Dutch people when I was living in the Netherlands) and that they all share the same culture, etc, etc. People from many different countries come to Europe and get classed as part of the 'Islamic race' and are then misunderstood and discriminated against, which only incrrases tensions in society and misunderstanding on all sides.

For locaxy comment, I agree that we all did that mistake- and it is a mistake-.This mistake is simply caused by something higher than religion. It is ideology. the fatal flaw in our genes that drives us to expand our comfort zone by joining other individuals under the shade of an idea. I was reading all this discussion and laughing a lot about facts and points of different members:)

First of all, I would say that we do not really need any religion at all. Religion was created just to make certain rules for people. Now we have all the crucial rules in constitution!!

Second thing, do not think that if Arab countries stop to export oil we will die. What a stupid idea? There is a lot of oil in Russia and Norway. It is a global world, all the countries trade between each other, therefore it will never happen.

And the last thing, I strongly believe that if you come to foreign country to live you HAVE to integrate. Therefore you should not walk around with your national flag (of your home country), you should not wear hijab, you should look and behave as a local person. If you do not like it - go back to your home country.

If you want to argue with this statement, ok, no problems. But just think about Saudi Arabia, Quatar or Sudan, will European have choice to follow his Western life-style??? NO!!! And they have every right to practice their religion free from harassment, as per the constitution. If they try to hurt others, there are laws to deal with that. When I first came to this country I was given a book about Sweden. This book was translated into every language under the sun. I started reading the first few pages, but then coming to a small part I threw the book away. The part of the book I came to said that is was the Swedish peoples responsibility to change for my benefit, not the other way around. This here is the root of the problems associated with the great multicultural experiment that is Sweden. It gives the immigrants an excuse to not change or assimilate. People moving to my home country have to change to exist there, it is only common sense.

There have been some arguments here that the bible also teaches that a woman has to wear a Hijab (or Wimple in English). I have not heard of this being enforced by Christian groups here in Sweden? Have you? The freedom that a country like this offers is that we are free to practise our own religion (or lack there of) without other ideologies being thrown down our necks. If Islam did not advocate things like honour killings or inequality then I would have no issue with it.

When I was a child, I listened to such stories and believed in them, but then I grew up and and found a complexity to the concept of god that I doubt you could even come close to understanding.

Religion became a subject of study and lost all godly meaning to me. Spirituality and Unity are my vices now. Watching the human race evolve over the last several millions of years, leaves the stories like Adam and Eve relevant only for the simpler minds and for simpler times.

Emfa, I would like to start you on a journey of discovery by saying YES there are a NUMBER of religions where women and men have the same (equal?) rights! AND NO! ISLAM is NOT one of them! Knowing these religions are out there should make you curious enough to find them. (You don't need to join them, just understand them.) The more you know, the better your personal religious decisions will become.

I have a number of friends who are Wiccans and yes I have fond peaceful memories of being with them and found their religion to be egalitarian. It is too bad that Saudi Arabia executes Wiccans. So much for religious tolerance.

Most fasinating to me is the idea that many moslums know nothing of their own religion. I think that many of them would be shocked to find out just what kind of man their prophet was. After christianity, I made islam one of my bigger areas of religious studies. What I learned about the brutality of islam's inception has shocked me to the core.

For the last 1400 years, islam has prevented any dissent amongst its followers. They truly believe that criticizing islam is a great sin and the sinner MUST be dealt with. They cannot understand that for a society to grow and evolve, EVERYBODY has the right to criticize religions.

Respect and equal rights are 2 different things! I also think that it is too bad that it is islam that gives respect to women and that without islam, women would have no respect. I have no religion and yet I firmly believe in equal rights and respect for all people - even women ;-)

The only problem in quoting the bible is that depending on what type of christian you are dealing with, it may have no meaning to them. The bible basically has 2 parts; the old testament and the new testament. Many christians have no use for the old testament because it was pre-Jesus (Jewish). So quoting old testament is quoting non-binding, or outdated, religious law. Quoting the new testament is problamatic for many christians (especially Swedish Church) because they feel the bible is NOT the absolute word of god that MUST be FUNDAMENTALLY followed word for word. It is really more of a guide! Many christians do not even feel that god had ANYTHING to do with the bible.

Trying to defend islamic laws and practices by quoting the bible therefore becomes very problematic.

I really think it is the other way around - I accept that there are good muslims who don't understand islam and try to give islam a good name. For example, the good muslem will have friends who are christians and/or jews but this is forbidden by 5,51. So either the good ones do not believe in their holy book or they do not really know its contents. Of course the other option is that they define friendship a lot more differently than a non-islamic person does.

Old Testament says don't eat pork! As I understand it, Jesus overturned that law when he said, it is NOT what goes into the mouth that will condemn you, it is what comes out of your mouth! Jesus also showed us the way because HE drank alcohol. It is funny how your god (oh wait, it was your prophet) makes you follow all of those old Jewish laws that Jesus overturned 8-)

It is incredible that it only works if it is AGAINST a moslum! A child decides on a special way of life (western, non-islamic) that their moslum parents do NOT agree with and so the FAMILY does the only HONORABLE thing and they KILL their own child who has this bad way of thinking!!! And there is NO outrage!!! Well at least the family honor was maintained! I pitty the poor moslum who converts to some other religion in any of the great islamic countries. They chose a special way of life and they are killed for having this bad way of thinking. -- You see, it only works if it is AGAINST a moslum.

Sorry but if you think people have problems with islam because islam has the oil, your commons sense has failed you. There are plenty of other reasons why people do not like islam.

The largest faith in this world is in the accumulation of wealth i.e. MONEY. This belief has entrapped moslems, shintoists, christians , jews as well as buddhists, sikhs and hindu's alike this is not to mention the athiests and agnostics. We all worship in it and at it's great church every day - THE HOLY MARKET - and it is a church we attend each and every day. FACT!

Sadly, this statement is very misleading and somewhat delusional.

There are definitely people who convert to islam, and there are people who are born into it and according to islamic thinking, NOBODY ever leaves islam!

This is the real problem! If you decide you do not believe in islam anymore, and you make the mistake of telling someone; you're dead! This means that there are MANY people who do not believe in islam, and have in FACT left the faith, and yet they tell no one!

So when islam counts its members, it cannot possibly subtract ANYONE who has left!

I am AMAZED at how many people leave islam when they get to the West! I've seen numbers saying up to 30% of the immigrants are leaving islam! They think it is more than 30% but getting actual numbers is hard because of the FEAR of harm these Apostates face if others find out!

In the last 5 years, I have personally "counseled" between 60 and 70 people that I have met in my "travels", regarding their religious and spiritual options outside of islam. People who had already left the religion, but were sort of lost as to a direction to take! If I have met that many, in my own limited interactions with people, there MUST be A LOT of people leaving islam!

Lets talk about moral and discipline, If you are Jew , an immigrated Jew to Palestine land (which in fact all are) ,and You have an issue with court. I am sure you would not go to a Muslim lawyer who hate Jews. this racist Lawyer should deal with other issues rather to handle Immigrant cases. or should go to mental hospital.

A Lawyer should not be racist because He can not defend his client from bottom his heart as he should do.

I really disagree with everyone who thinks that "PROFESSIONAL" people cannot do their jobs because they are prejudiced or racist, or even disgusted!

In the case of LAWYERS, it really sounds like MANY of you do not have a clue as to "exactly" what lawyers are all about!

Lawyers do "not defend his client from bottom his heart", this is a very idealized way of thinking and it is wrong! The lawyer may think his client is a Sick Fracking Basta... but he is still going to defend his client!

The client who kidnapped, raped and murdered a child, or several children for that matter, is STILL going to be defended by a lawyer!

The client admits to his lawyer that he did the crime! The lawyer STILL has to defend his client EVEN KNOWING that his client is guilty! The lawyer acts PROFESSIONALLY! Unfortunately, the lawyer acts in such a PROFESSIONAL manner and the client may be found not guilty and walks free!

AND the lawyer can do nothing to bring justice for the murdered child!

I am so tired of you fools who can't deal with women. Well I like women and the world is a better place with them. So ha!!
