Police in central Sweden are on the hunt for a gang of tattooed women who sexually molested a 50-year-old man as he was riding by on his bicycle.

The incident took place around 9pm on July 8th as the man was cycling down Vintergatan in central Örebro, the Aftonbladet newspaper reports.

Suddenly, someone grabbed hold of the rack on the back of the man’s bike, causing him to fall to the ground.

“The girls ran up to him and pulled the bicycle down so he fell,” Örebro police spokesperson Annika Haaster told the newspaper.

As the man was lying defenceless on the ground, the women proceeded to pull off his trousers and underwear and molest him sexually before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the 50-year-old was not otherwise beaten or physically assaulted by the gang of five girls.

The victim told police that the girl who actually pulled down the bicycle was about 175 centimetres (5 feet, 7 inches) tall and had tattoos on her forearms.

Authorities are hoping that tips from the public can help them apprehend the suspects responsible for the bizarre attack.

“It’s downright unusual for five girls [to do something like this]. Perhaps there are others who’ve had the same thing happen to them,” Haaster told Aftonbladet.

Why is this funny? If the genders were reversed I'm sure you wouldn't find it in the least entertaining.

I am assuming all of you that have commented above are male, which makes it even more bizare that you think it's ok for a member of your own sex to be attacked like this.

Reminds me of a t-shirt I saw in Dublin a few weeks ago

Awww, what a poor 50 year old guy...

They should have knicked his wallet, at least then he would have something to complain about.
15:59 July 16, 2009 by Miss Kitten
I guarantee that if this were a 50 year-old woman attacked and sexually assaulted in a similar way then no one would be laughing. No one would be describing her as "lucky."
16:04 July 16, 2009 by Pacey
What has been happening? The news about Rape is getting weirder and weirder each week. First we had women raping women then so on and now it has come to this!!!

Next we know the animals start complaining for some attempted rape!! lol

Technically speaking the chocolate shouldnt melt!! They wont do anything if the person doused is a guy!!

Well one good thing about this affair,...it should get the lazy Swedish police back on their feet after their mid-summer sojourn.

Probably mobilised every cop car in the country in the hope of catching a piece of the action!

I never thought this would happen to me, but...
16:15 July 16, 2009 by Miss Kitten
So guys, do you think that a man cannot be raped by a woman? And if so why?
16:18 July 16, 2009 by ziabach
I do not think that, that's just like saying women can't also abuse there partners, its just stupid and this should not be funny :|
16:26 July 16, 2009 by jack sprat
Miss Kitten,

"I guarantee that if this were a 50 year-old woman attacked and sexually assaulted in a similar way then no one would be laughing. No one would be describing her as "lucky".

All depends how desperate she was!...
16:29 July 16, 2009 by Kieruk
According to the article he was not raped, or hurt in any way...they just took down his trousers and 'molested him'. So he got a gentle playing with...

Not saying this is ok at all, but it is not rape, and there is NO physical damage, and from the sounds of it, very very little if any mental damage.
16:30 July 16, 2009 by conboy
Silly question women have been convicted of rape against men and boys in this jurisdiction. Perhaps you don't read the papers..?
16:39 July 16, 2009 by paulbest

I think this story says a lot about the current state of the sexes in Sweden.
17:25 July 16, 2009 by Miss Kitten
Why is it a silly question? I don't care what the papers say. I was merely asking for their opinions on this matter since the majority of the male posters in this thread seem to have trouble taking this story seriously and do not consider what the man endured to be a sexual assault.
17:41 July 16, 2009 by conboy
Well as most people don't read the transcripts of court reports I merely assumed that you had not bothered reading newspaper accounts of court cases relating to the fact that women have been convicted of rape against men and boys in Sweden in recent years. This is of course not to mention the big taboo area of women on men violence in the home. Most women who like to blog on Swedish public sites don't appear to take women on men violence seriously. Your contributions would appear to reflect that fact ...
17:47 July 16, 2009 by DeafJeff
Most men would not find this humiliating in the US. I think I would like it. I just wouldn't tell the wife I liked it. ;)
19:29 July 16, 2009 by Zoolander428
This is where equality goes too far... not that a guy getting raped (if it really went that far) is any better than a woman getting raped, but guys will be guys, and we'll always joke about these things. Over simplified, it's a lot like poop jokes.

I bet over half the men out there would have the same reaction as the first commenters (myself included). Whether they would admit that to a woman, or publicly on here, is a different story.
19:39 July 16, 2009 by slickscott
Why cant this sh**ever happen to me????????? But I guess it all depends on how good looking they were. If they were fat and hairy then it wouldnt have been too good

19:43 July 16, 2009 by Miss Kitten
My contributions??! Have you read any other posts in this thread? All the men seemed to be joking about it and I was attempting to point out that they (the men) in this thread were the ones not taking women on men violence seriously. Did you read my post about how if the situations were reversed and it was a 50 year-old woman being attacked, than no one would be laughing?
19:46 July 16, 2009 by Zoolander428
Yeah... something tells me it wasn't the mythical bikini team that was involved here... but when I picture in my mind, 5 girls jumping from the bushes with their hands ready to fondle, they are definitely the culprits!

I think it would be so funny if someone from here did go biking there and encountered the gang, only to find out that they were "armed" with cucumbers or perhaps strap-ons

Never mentioned ("my" 'your contributions') You seem to be easily outraged about things which have not been written about you. I referred to others on the other hand and note that you don't seem to regard the assault on the man as a particularly serious offence. If you are unaware of the cultural tradition among men even in Sweden to make a joke of occasional bad experiences or even serious ones for that matter, then it seems you are socially underdeveloped when it comes to understanding how men deal with serious injury and experiences. I sustained a sporting injury not so long ago which was the result of a rather cowardly out of sight tackle. Rather than be bitter and let the scumbag win I choose to make the injury a laughing matter among my friends and accquaintances making puns about degradated sexual prowess and suggesting I would probably be found to be ideologically unsound if I was a member of a fanatical organisation. This is the way many men work if you don't understand this you have a lot to learn about life, men and the real world in general. I suggest you look up the word "irony" in a dictionary.

"I guarantee that if this were a 50 year-old woman attacked and sexually assaulted in a similar way then no one would be laughing."

Totally correct. Nobody would be laughing if a 50 yr woman was attacked in this way. And your point is?

But it was a fifty year old male that was molested by women. So it's funny...sort of.
06:15 July 17, 2009 by Sofia_stockholm
I don't find it funny when anyone - man or woman - is molested by anyone else. The man must have felt violated, or he wouldn't have found it necessary to report it to the police. Obviously it was not a pleasant experience.

But, just as last time a topic like this came up, it's being laughed off...
07:02 July 17, 2009 by 70sdreamer
My first reaction was a bit of a chuckle - the idea IS funny...

But in reality Miss Kitten and Sofia are both so painfully right. Sexual molestation in any form, regardless of age or gender is not really a laughing matter and someone's privacy being violated in this way - in a public place - really isn't funny.

Imagine being pushed off your bike and then exposed and fondled by strangers, probably while being laughed at and made fun of... If that's your wet dream, I'm not really sure about your sanity.

So laugh at the idea, sure, but don't make fun of the poor bastard this happened to! A no is a no (I guess some of you were waiting for that one)!
08:26 July 17, 2009 by hilt_m
No love, I wasn't out having it off with a bunch of younger girls, I was viciously attacked...honest.
09:13 July 17, 2009 by longtime
I'm with kitten and sofia on this (and yes i'm a woman too). Maybe the men's attitude here is why sexual violence has taken centuries to be seen as a crime. Your men's attitude to the assult of this man speaks volumn's about men's attitude to sexual violence in general.
09:39 July 17, 2009 by jack sprat
The guy was not seriously or even slightly injured in any way.

It was little more than a schoolgirl prank and he is probably sitting at home reliving his wildest fantasy....and probably couldnt resist sharing it with the rest of the world otherwise he wouldnt even have gone to the cops.

The reactions show more than anything some womens lack of sense of humour.

At least the girls enjoyed the fun.
13:25 July 17, 2009 by Loonyman
I'm sorry, but funny is funny, politicaly incorrect? Yes, but also funny? hell yes!!!

(I also find Benny Hill funny )
14:14 July 17, 2009 by Swedeofile
This shows the difference between men and women. The police probably only found out about this because the guy was bragging about it to his friends in a bar and one was jealous and reported him.

Is it guy humour? Of course! Is guy humour silly/dumb! Absolutely or it would not be funny!

But what is actually funny? Whatever we laugh at!
14:18 July 17, 2009 by johnny 69
Gabe wishes it was him that got attacked, only he wishes it was a gang of tattooed men.

Happened to me all the time and then I woke up
15:23 July 17, 2009 by Miss Kitten
I give up. I guess we can assume that every man secretly wants to be sexually molested.
15:25 July 17, 2009 by womanintheus
okay maybe its the difference in the culture of countires...but over here in the US even women would be laughing about this...and the fact that the man went to police...yeah he would be made fun of!!!!

If they had done any physical harm it might be a different story...but 5 girls-half this guys age- jumped him and fondled him...the only real crime here is if they did it and didnt get him off so they left him with blue balls. Otherwise thats a hell of alot better than sitting at home watching a porn and watching it happen to someone else!!!

Kitten... if you were reading Cosmo you would already know such important things about men.
16:15 July 17, 2009 by Miss Kitten
^

Cosmo? The magazine for office sluts? No, I haven't read that since I was one.
16:33 July 17, 2009 by Timmo
As a man I don't mind saying I think this is wrong, not least for pushing the guy off his bike - that alone is dangerous enough. Yeah the rest of it sounds a bit funny-peculiar on first reading but ultimately assault by any means, or method, or for any reason, is still assault and is not acceptable.

Doesn't sound as though much harm was done but no-one has the right to go around assaulting another person, even if the recipient were weird enough to enjoy it (in which unlikely event he can pay for it - freebies like this will put hard working girls out of business). Sure guys will joke about it but for authorities to not act sets a bad precedent.

Of course if you really think you might like this kind of thing then you know where to go and what to do - let us know how you get on !
16:33 July 17, 2009 by Nuname
You read Cosmo when you were one?

What's the betting this man is a little bit 'special'. Sounds like pretty nasty bullying to me but you can bet the police wouldn't be involved if this happened in a school. (To a schoolboy I mean).
16:36 July 17, 2009 by Mack
So you have a problem with office sluts as well? I always thought Cosmo was a comedy rag.
16:42 July 17, 2009 by Miss Kitten
Lol...no, I don't have any problem with office sluts or any other type of slut for that matter. I certainly didn't mean to imply that I did. There's nothing wrong with being a "slut" in my opinion.

00:54 July 18, 2009 by Coalbanks
Hasn't this gang struck previously ? And been reported in The Local? Motive? Lesbian feminists attempting to show the ease with which rape can be & is perpetrated? The need for constant surveillence of all people at all times? Put the fear of retribution into all potential rapists? Or are they just a bunch of louts on steroids?
01:08 July 18, 2009 by jack sprat
So how many years has it taken you to finally come to that conclusion Miss K.?

15:49 July 20, 2009 by Streja
Why is everyone assuming the girls were lesbians or feminists? Are you really that stupid?

I'm a feminist and I have no tattoes.
15:52 July 20, 2009 by Miss Kitten
There are also these possibilities:

He's married.

He's gay.

In both cases, he probably wouldn't much like the idea of being molested by a group of tattooed biker chicks.
15:54 July 20, 2009 by Kieruk
I actually think only 1 person even mentioned this possibility, and it was in amongst a whole load of other possibilities of groups wanting to get some headlines...

So I think assuming 'everyone' is thinking this kinda just makes you seem very nieve for reading 1 post and picking up on 1 point...
15:58 July 20, 2009 by Streja
Nah, all of you men thought it was lesbians or feminists and that the man really liked it. Men are all the same. They all like the same things and it is not possible that a man can be molested by girls...hang on...hmmmm...

All of you missed the only important point and conboy completely missed everything kitten wrote.
15:59 July 20, 2009 by Streja
I mean come on! Try to be a little more intelligent Kieruk. I was merely waving a red flag in front of you bulls.
16:36 July 20, 2009 by Kieruk
hmmm...red flag worked today!

I didn't think it was feminists or lesbians actually...just a group of kids who should have been brought up better and need some discipline.

But maybe that is just because I am a bit innocent and miss the deeper points to things...
16:42 July 20, 2009 by Streja
I agree. I wonder why we keep hearing these reports about women doing violent things. Was it under reported before? I think I read somewhere years ago that women who are charged with crimes are more likely to get a reduced sentence or get sentenced to care. Perhaps we view women as soft creatures still and can't imagine them comitting violent acts.
16:47 July 20, 2009 by Kieruk
well during my Law a-level (just below university qualification) I read about how a woman can not be convicted of rape in English law, as Quenn Victoria (or someone...) didn't think it could ever happen...

I never did find out if that was updated!

The mind boggles!
18:28 July 26, 2009 by Benzed
Bizarre indeed. Though I'm afraid I must join the largely male consensus that this is hardly the most unappealing of criminal incidents one might expect to suffer in Sweden, the victim's age notwithstanding.
20:20 July 27, 2009 by CheekyMonkey
Yes I'm a man, and I too find this amusing. Let's see - attacked and molested by a gang of young swedish women, hmmmn, that sounds like a promising plot for a porn director. Can I be the leading man?

To the women who just can't believe the cavalier attitude that most men have towards this incident, I think there really is a biological reason for this; simply put, it's the difference between the sexes. Men don't get pregnant, and constantly produce sperm, so we need frequent sexual release- just a fact of nature. Women have to deal with severe biological consequences i.e getting pregnant and giving birth, so they will understandably be much more cautious and protective of their sexuality.
18:09 July 28, 2009 by nic_tester

As one guy mentioned... all guys think this story sounds awesome when they fantasize a six-some with 5 hot members of the Swedish bikini team. Every time men think about sex it's with the most beautiful woman they can think of.

The reality of this story is the women were probably not very desirable looking, smelling, etc. Once settling in to that reality it really kills the fantasy and makes the idea sound not nearly as awesome as first expected. Think of your ugliest, most annoying, fattest co-worker and then think of her and her 4 friends raping you, yuck!
