Malmö's Möllevången district was the scene of a make-out manifestation on Saturday as many perfect strangers found one another and helped to spread the enduring message of peace and love.

The "Make-out manifestation" attracted more than 30 amorous couples to Folkets Park in central Malmö at the heart of the annual Möllevången festival on Saturday afternoon.

The snog-hungry festival-goers arrived at the appointed hour of 3pm and divided themselves according to preference with the help of makeshift cardboard signs which read: guy-girl, guy-guy, girl-girl and "does not matter".

While many of those attending this public display of affection were already couples, about half of those partaking had met for the first time, local newspaper Sydsvenskan reports.

"We take part to spread the love. And because it is lovely to make-out," enthusiastic participant Beata Wulff told the newspaper.

The make-out fest drew to a thirsty close some 15-30 minutes later and organizers Sara Westman and Daniel Wilby were very happy with the turn out.

"The most fun thing was that many came and found a make-out partner on the spot," Sara Westman said.

Many of the couples lingered on after the event in order to get to know each other better.

Blessed be Sweden and Europe and the world for they are courageous for behaving as though they were in heaven.

As for those who envy and covet and have low self esteem or cannot partake because of disease : may they be cured of envy, disease, low self esteem and covetousness.

The nation that is bold will be rewarded but those who envy as Satan envied Adam and Eve : may they be no more.

That is great. Wonder when will this happen in København!!! BTW, when was this advertised? After all København is just a train ride away from Malmö...

Based on chats with an organiser a couple of years ago, Möllevångsfestivalen has virtually no budget and is only really made possible by volunteers ...

... sadly Malmö seems to reserve pretty much all it's festival money for the official Malmö festivalen every August ... which is impressive, and can afford decent publicity ... but I get the feeling Möllevångs could deliver a lot more fun for a fraction of the money ;o)

... I reckon with this 'snogfest' free publicity ... next year there'll probably be hundreds looking to hook up ;o)

... one for the 2010 diary .. if only to watch in disbelief ;o)

I can't get over the look on that boys face in the picture the Local provided.

I share with that little tyke the same feelings. I wonder if the man she is kissing is related, or is it a stranger. Ahh so lovely to bring kids and teach them to swap kisses with strangers and pass who knows what back and forth.

Y'all are being a bit hysterical aren't you? There's more diseasey behaviour than a light snog, and everyone's mouth is foreign the first time we kiss them. Lip AIDS is an unknown condition at this stage.
11:59 July 27, 2009 by skane refugee
totally agree ... a little of whats bad for you is good for you (medically speaking ;o) ) ... that's the whole principle behind most immunisations ...

I read somewhere that kissing people (who are not seriously disease-ridden) is like getting multiple mild immunisations and gives your (often under-utilised) immune system something useful to do ;o)

... wonder if anyone charged with grabbing and snogging complete strangers has ever claimed as a defence that it was 'for essential medical reasons' ...

Or maybe giving your new found friend love.

While you, Rebel, spent the weekend masturbating into a cup and then adding the contents to your coffee.

We did a lot of public makeing out here in the states. It was not in a park but rather on a farmer's land in Woodstock, New York. It lasted a week rather than half and hour.
