STOCKHOLM

Stockholm Pride 2009

Yes it is that time of year again - when the sober Stockholm streets are turned into a kaleidoscope of the rainbow in a celebration of the city's LGBT communities.

This year's theme is "hetero" with a focus on how heteronormativity impacts on the daily lives of homosexuals, bisexuals and transgender people.

Music, debate, speeches, demonstrations, seminars and whole lotta partying are what's on offer as the festival reaches its traditional climax with the Pride Parade on Saturday.

Price: 700 kronor for the week
Time: Monday July 27th - Sunday August 2nd
Location: Pride Park, Tantolunden; Pride House, Kulturhuset & venues across the city

Emil Jensen

If there is one thing you do this week, go see Emil Jensen and his band play in the Pride Park.

Emil Jensen won the hearts of an adoring public last summer after touring last summer with Lars Winnerbäck and Miss Li. He is political, he is witty, he is engagingly talented.

A mix of spoken word, comedy, music and little of whatever takes his fancy.
