The Local's Stockholm nightlife guide: Kungsholmen

The area of Kungsholmen is centered around the Tunnelbana (metro) stops of Fridemsplan and Rådhuset, and is primarily residential. As its just outside of the city centre, don't expect to find wild clubbing and nightlife here, rather, quaint and cozy bars and restaurants where friends can enjoy good food, drink and company.

A posh and popular neighbourhood bar is La Dame Noir, which is one of the trendier places in Kungsholmen and boasts a lengthy drink menu. Up the street you'll find other cute cafes and bars, many of which are open for lunch and dinner, as opposed to only late night establishments. The warm atmosphere of these restaurants make them worthy candidates to start off a night out with meals and drinks, before heading into the downtown area.
