Shooting death may be linked to gang war

The death of 23-year-old man who was shot while sitting inside a car outside a petrol station on Friday night in Malmö might be related to a gang war. Several shots were fired at the victim by an unknown assailant.

The man is a known criminal, but police don’t want to speculate on whether or not the death was due to retaliation between criminals.

“He is well known to us, but we don’t want to speculate because we don’t know the identity of the perpetrator,” Calle Persson, information officer for the Skåne police, told TT news agency.

According to witness testimony, a lone assailant shot the 23-year-old in his car at 7 pm on Friday, dragged him out of the vehicle and then fired several additional rounds. Then he used the car to escape.

The vehicle was found in Svedala, a small town southeast of Malmö, on Saturday. It has been sent for forensic analysis.

“The victim used the car and it wasn’t stolen, but he didn’t own it,” Persson said.

“Several casings and a gun were found at the scene. Several witnesses have been questioned. It appears that one person did the shooting, but we haven’t ruled out the possibility that several were involved in the escape,” he added.

He didn’t want to reveal any more details about the 23-year-old’s past.

Local media reported that a restaurant in Lund that the man ran together with his brother was bombed last year. The victim is described as a leader of a local gang that is in conflict with other criminal groups.

Is this supposed the be a news article or the opening to a detective game? I hate Swedish news agencies habit of telling as little as possible about a situation. Basically this article tells nothing excetpt some guy got shot. You can sum that up un one line if you aren't going to give any meaningful information.

We are both looking for names and pictures so that we can determine who are the victim and the actors.

That data will not be given because of the fear of the reactions from those who already suspect what this is really about in any case.

Save your breath and the time that is takem to post the comment.

Sweden isn't Sweden anymore.

I would say 30% of the comments on this site are about Swedes loosing their country. Stop crying about it and do something about it.

Sweden is not losing their country. I just drove from Gothenberg to Stockholm yesterday and I promise you it's as boring as it ever was, LOL.
