Ida Riedel Palmer, 23, was left disappointed when what was advertised as a free "body jam" dance CD with her breakfast cereal directed her to a hardcore porn website.

"I chose the brand of cereal because of the free CD. I was at first disappointed but then worried that maybe I had a virus on my computer. I called my boyfriend to check if he had been using my computer, but he told me he hadn't," Ida Riedel Palmer told The Local on Wednesday.

The young woman from Umeå in northern Sweden bought the packet of Nestlé Fitness cereal at the weekend and was left shaken by the nature of the porn to which she was exposed.

"It was not soft porn. It was definitely what I would categorize as unpleasant porn - not that I know much about it," she explained.

Palmer tested the offending CD in two more computers to make sure that the problem was not in anyway connected to her computer and the same thing occurred.

However the CD did contain the material that was advertised; it just came with an introduction that the unsuspecting Ida Riedel Palmer had not anticipated.

"When I put the CD in again the dance training came up. Without the porn."

"But as the problem was clearly not with my computer, it was with the CD, I felt that Nestlé should be informed and I called them."

Nestlé have been in touch and have assured her that they will get to the bottom of the mystery of how Palmer's corn flakes became porn flakes.

Ida Riedel Palmer told The Local that despite her experience she is willing to give the brand another chance.

"No I haven't changed cereal. But I have bought another packet," she said.

All we got back in the UK was little toys. Ahhh have to love Sweden.

"It was not soft porn. It was definitely what I would categorize as unpleasant porn - not that I know much about it,"

So she spent long enough browsing the site content to find that out? :)

People get all bent out of shape about porn. It is a 2 billion dollar a year industry in the US. A lot of people are into porn. Nothing wrong with porn.

Hilarious, funny, nothing wrong with your peoples thinking?

I am glad that it was her that found the disc and NOT her kids!

If this was reported correctly, it has the potential to be a serious problem!

I must say though that having your morning "porn flakes" sounds really cool ;-)

Porn flakes the breakfast of champions!

Well Jeff just because something makes lots of money doesn't mean its ok. People make lots of money out of getting people addicted to drugs or selling arms to dictatorships.

Take it easy there lingonberrie. There are people there with the similar opinions as you that struggle to make a change for the better. Labeling an entire country only makes you sound ignorant despite any good arguments you "may" have.....

what the %&"# is "body jam" - it sounds like something best avoided when in the company of cannibals.

Love Ms. Palmer's categorisation of the porn as "unpleasant porn". Would be interesting to see what Ms. Palmer classifies as "pleasant porn"?

PS - love the article headline!

To Jeff's credit, I don't believe he was saying that because something makes money in the U.S., that it's right. Just a slight cultural misunderstanding. When referring to the financial viability of a legal industry, it is a reference to its acceptance and popularity. We judge the popularity of a product by how much revenue it produces. He wasn't saying that because something produces a large profit it is moral, he was actually saying that it is widely popular and accepted (internationally, I might add) and that is the reason it turns such a profit.

Now when speaking about an illegal industry that is generally regarded with distaste (weapons, drugs, prostitution, etc.) and someone says "It makes $XXX per year," that is an entirely different statement. It implies that the profit made from the illegal industry is a travesty and should be stopped.

Yes, the U.S. is a very money-centric nation and we discuss it quite regularly. We don't always realize that it's a subject bordering on taboo in other countries and that they may not pick up on particular nuances when we discuss things from a financial point of view.

how did comments about a porn flake article land on US, Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan? Crazy and meaningless comments sometimes.

It is good that it wasn't kids who found it, I wonder how many others were distributed with that CD? I foresee a rise in Nestle sales....

I find it suspect. With the nature of advertising these days, I would not be surprised if this was some sort of guerrilla marketing strategy. Marketing is more and more invasive these days. A while back we heard of cocaine in redbull and now porn flakes. We may be hearing more of this type of thing in the future.

Interesting that one thinks children are so fragile that they could be permanently damaged if they happened to catch a glimpse of porn, I guess it is possible in this age when folks depend on the computer and TV to educate and raise their children.

Yes I guess if that is how your children are raised, then perhaps you are right, it could be damaging since you are not in their lives to guide them.
20:26 August 30, 2009 by TvAmazon
@aairon: I find your comments disturbing. It sounds like you think it ok for young children to see porn. Most young children have no concept of sex and do not know where babies come from. It would appear to children that a man was hurting a women in some strange way. I can only wonder about how you raise your children.

To what good would be exposing children to something they don't care or need to know about at such an early age. You might as well make them watch shows with animals and people killing animals. These type of things could very well frighten small children and make them very fearful of the world around them at an unnecessary early age. You need to re-think your position aairon.
