All that she (an he) says is true, I have found (being a US guy). Most are really like this and want this but being politically correct is the outward driver and quite a stressor for some.

In our society we agree that if you contribute to society then you should be afforded the spoils, food, entertainment, shelter etc. But if in this equation of society a large portion of the population take more than they put in it creates an inbalance. So if your wife sits around home all day concentrating on looking "good" or as best she can with 10,000 kr eye cream then she is becoming a black hole of resources for the entire society.

I like the Swedish womens point of view here, and I hardly think that some woman who sold out and moved to the US to marry someone who is so many he sung songs for a living can comment on the real issues that people face today. Who the hell does she think she is.

If a husband has an occupation which is well-paid and his wife can afford to stay home and take over that part of the responsibility split, if that is what she wishes, hurray for them. However, it is not easy to live in Sweden and have a decent lifestyle unless both husband and wife support the family financially. Then work needs to be split down the line. Or do you guys expect (like many men in the US) for your wife to spend 8 hours a day in an office and then come home and have to shoulder all of the child-rearing and household work? Re-Horakhty's comments are too oafish to even ponder. I do however agree with Mrs. Anka. Swedes have gone too far in tyring to create gender equality. It's as though Sweden is trying to defy the laws of nature. After all there are clear biological and psychological male-female differences, which should recognized. This does not have to include unfairness or any form of gender discrimination, but the line must be drawn somewhere. Having been married to a South African-Greek the first time around, I must say that being married to a true blue Swede took some getting used to.

As an american who travels to Sweden constantly ( close relatives in Stockholm) I can see her point. Yes, she's brash and stupid and playing into old sterotypes...but she has a point underneath all that garbage.

I noticed a huge difference between Swedish men and American men.....the feminization has just gone too far. It's one thing to help out around the house, but honestly, most Swedish men would be confused with homosexuals in appearance, here in the states. It was very sad. Women and men are still separate creatures, genetically, and yes many women ( and men ) still prefer clearer-defined gender roles. I am one of them. And yes I am educated, attractive, can take care of myself...and love having a big, strong man at home who loves to come home to a home-cooked meal. And maybe even a good BJ after dinner. If most Swedish males shared this opinion then it might hold some weight but it is usually foreigners who think that there is either something wrong with Swedish men (because they help with house chores or spend more than few minutes with their own children, both thing which males should either not do or do unwillingly). Hardly anyone speaks out against women working outside home but if men do something that women did it in past people start mentioning that they are going against nature. If someone prefers clearly defined gender roles he/she can live his/her life that way but those who don't like the roles that their gender was assigned in the past (the major reasons why those roles were defined that way do not exist anymore, so there is no point is sticking to those roles if you dont like them) should also have equal chance of leading a normal life.

It's just cultural chauvinism when Anglos come to Sweden and think that the genders are somehow reversed. They think because the people here are white and share a European Christian heritage with America, that things are just like home. In fact, it goes further than that, in Engish-speaking societies people constantly use arguments about what's natural and unnatural to defend or attack what are actually aspects of culture. It's really tiring to constantly hear that people think Swedish men look gay or aren't masculine enough. What they don't realize is that what is considered looking gay isn't necessarily the same thing the world over. It's that assumption that everything is the same the world over that is the cutural chauvinism that I was talking about in the beginning. And what's wrong with looking gay?

We live in a time where people can live however they want at home, so why the constant need to tell everyone else how they should behave, to tell men to dress like Americans, to tell everyone all over the Earth to be like they are? I have taken a close look at the contestants on the show. To be blunt, I think only one of them was born a woman.

Also there ages are way out, by at least a decade if not two in the case of Anna.

I am the same age as Anna. I have had a rough upbringing. I look at least a decade younger than her, without makeup or photoshop.

Then again she is from Skåne. In Skåne there is a massive amount of inbreeding.

I really hope you people are not so naive as to think that the views of this women are somewhat typical of values in the USA. Dear Americans, please, stop making chauvinistic comments about the Swedish men and gender roles. As a Latvian, I respect the United States but it annoys me incredibly to see the American attitude towards the Nordic style democracy and social customs. You have your way of life, the Swedes have theirs. No need to teach the Swedes how to live, especially given the fact that the Swedes have a much higher living standard. The gender equality is one of the reasons why the Nordics are doing (and will continue doing) so well, as opposed to the US which has tremendous social problems which are likely to aggravate.

p.s. and having lived in the States, I have to disagree that most men are the breadwinners. Yea, moreso than in Europe, but not every American guy can buy his own house, support the wife 100% and the kids. Most families in the States have a double income. Today, when America is about to experience a huge financial crash, more men than women are actually losing their jobs and over the past decades more women have actually become the breadwinners, as in Europe. So no need to promote empty, old fashioned stereotypes. The 1950s family model has not been sustainable for decades now and it will never return (at least not in the nearest future).

And yea, do remember that this guy is very rich. Not only does she not work, but she probably is hoping to acqurie some of his wealth. If you insist that 'the man be the man', then ok - the woman stays at home and caters to him, the man earns ALL the money for the whole family. I have only seen the previews for the show and my first impression of Anna was that she was arrogant. I think Anna would be singing a different tune if she weren't married to a wealthy person. Then she would be the one providing the service she seems to appreciate so much. She would also either be supporting her family alone or helping to support her family. I doubt she would be providing morning blowjobs and appreciate a man that helped around the house.

Anna Anka needs a swift kick in the ass. Coming from an American woman, perhaps 1 out of every 10,000 housewives are the well-dressed kind that do the chores around the house. She acts like everyone there is, and some mules on this forum seem to agree that this is the way to go. People, it's not like that. The majority are mothers, not housewives, meaning wearing stained clothing because they're chasing children all day without the help of nannies, stressed out constantly, and lacking time to complete all household chores.

I think Anna Anka should just stay in her litte secluded Hollywood home and talk to only the people around her who agree with her.
