Pre-teen girl reports rape at Swedish school

are you joking or what? These kids supposedly confess to a teacher,but have not been interviewed by the police???? WHY NOT? I can see this is going to be another case of slapped wrists and "dont do it again" syndrome,and in the meantime, another innocent victim with no justice. I for one would dearly like to know what these kids excuse is to why they (allegedly)raped a 10 year old child. SICK

Since this happened in sweden, the police is not gonna interview the kids as the kids might be in STRESS during the interview, although they have already raped but the stress from the interview might damage their character.

But after all this they will be knowing for sure that they have 5 more years to rape before being interviewed by police.

Pretty freaky. I wonder if Swedes are aware of this. I know in the UK and USA rapes/murders/pedophiles must be in the plenty but they being larger countries, only the most sensationalist stories come to mind but what about in Sweden? If a pre-teen girl is raped shouldn't it make national news and stay for weeks or do people not care?

These kids are under 15 so they won't be held accountable for rape!?! If they're able to do the crime, they should be able to pay for the crime. There's no way they can give back what they took away from that little 10 years old girl.

What are these 12-13 boys thinking!?! How can they even think of rape? There must be something seriously wrong with these boys. Sweden needs to wake up and treat rape as a much more serious crime. It's like the stone age or something here where men are allowed to just grab a chick by her hair and do what they please.

If I were that little girl's father HELLFIRE would REIGN down on the 3 boys and their parents for the stand-up jobs they did in raising them. There would be nothing left of any of their lineage.

Like I said before, in cases like this, it seems the only answer is 'street justice.' The sad fact is, no native-Swedish woman is safe in this country regardless of age. It totally amazes me that women don't organize themselves around this cause.

In Sweden you can't face jail sentences if you're under 15. Both the police and social services are investigating this case but the authority lies with the social services.

Rape has gone down a lot over the years in the states. Rapists get on average 7 to 10 yrs depending on the circumstances, if it were up to me they would get life in prison if not execution.

helgiorn, it must be doing an ok job. I dont remember 12-13 year olds raping little girls here. But you are right, they have a few more years to get these rapes out of their system. Why not keep it up. They obviously wont get in trouble, so why not, the more the merrier. Maybe throw in a few murders while they are at it, that is serious though, they may get a few months of counseling. If they were an adult they would do months for this rape, then get counseling courtesy of the Swedish taxpayer for their "traumatic" stay in their Swedish country club, I mean jail. I am sure they would be so traumatized they would be unable to work for a few years, but that's ok, they could always rely on the taxpayers for that too. It is pathetic that you are defending this law.

For a country that claims the sexes are completely equal having such a male bias when it comes to rape is a very noticeable flaw Sweden should try to remedy. (I know rapes can go either way, but it is usually a male raping a female)

after what i have seen here the last few years about these cases,it makes me wonder wether or not i want to live here permenently in a society that has this kind of laid back mindset to this sort of crime. I left the UK because of the way things were going there....maybe i should move to gaza..

They can always use the excuse that the girl did'nt inform them she was under age and the inept justice system here will accept that explanation and compensate the rapist with Mucho Dinero courtesy of Swedish taxpayers.

If I was this girls mother. The kids and probably a few people who make the rules, would be dead now. I make no apology for saying that. To be blunt, But I would be on the rampage, for good reason.

Those boys belong in institutional care. Rape is rape. At that age something is seriously wrong. Everything from upbringing, through peers and education needs to be looked at, with a microscope.

Remember you all... this is Sweden. Kids aren't expected to grow up here until the very last minute. They don't have to pay the price for their crimes. Falkenberg is a great example of this with kids throwing stones through the windows of their schools in the middle of the night, punching teachers and no one does anything about it and burning up a new "fritidsgård". Nothing is ever going to change unless a REALLY BIG group of people stand up and fight for the rights of the victims in this country. Sad to say... the Swedish system of justice concerning children is set up in favor for juvenile delinquents. No one is safe from their rath because no one corrects their behaviors. So, why should kids behave in this country when there are no consequences?

I read about these things happening more and more in Sweden. We know a girl from Sweden who was severely beaten up by a pack of girls at the same age. Where are the parents of these kids? Why can't the schools and community intervene? It seems like kids are left to their own resources too often. Kids, especially teenagers, need their schools, parents and teachers. They need planned activities and they need to be taught that if they mess up, there will be consequences. Hello, just like real life.

Also, there needs to be consequences for these two boys, severe consequences. Who cares if they are "stressed" while being interviewed? These boys knew what they were doing. If they are allowed to get away with it, they essentially are being given permission to treat women like this for the rest of their lives. What about the girl? She had the guts to report it and nobody cares about her rights?

The one thing that kept me from living in Sweden permanently is the passive attitude about so many things, this is a perfect example. It's a new day. What will it take in Sweden before you realize that kids are one of your most precious resources and that more needs to be done both for the victims and for kids like these boys? Stop being so accepting and passive about these kinds of behaviors. Otherwise one day you'll be run over by them and you won't know what hit you.

I think it would be nice if TL could do an interview with someone at the top of the Swedish justice system to ask why rape is so acceptable in this country? One reason may be that the judicial system was not prepared for the 900% increase in violent crime over the last 20+ years. The police system was obviously not prepared for this either. If that is the case, then they probably weren't prepared to be Europe's leader in the rape category either (46 rape reports per 100,000 residents). The judicial system needs to wake up and realize that they are not dealing with the same society that they had over 20 years ago.

The boys may be acquitted by a Swedish court if prosecutors are unable "to prove that the girl was in a helpless state at the time of the incident." After all, there were only three of them against one of her, and they apparently didn't even drug her up with GABA.

Apparently my country (the US) does not have a monopoly on judicial inanity.

Wonder if they learned about this in their sex education classes.

Do you think it might ultimately occur to the law-makers here in Sweden that this culture and society has been inspired in every conceivable way to think about sex, watch sex, read about sex, dress sexy and look at sensuous pictures? After all, we are sexual beings, right?

Then if that's not enough, the children can be taught about sex in the public school system....in a vulgar, sick and pornographic manner that has almost nothing to do with learning ABOUT sex, but rather has everything to do with HOW-TO perform sex - Pathetic bisexual RFSU instruction tutors do everything but masturbate the children themselves!

Maybe the reason rape can't have any serious consequences for the perpetrator is because the lawmakers - being lascivious themselves - feel a sense of responsibility for having facilitated the crimes?
