As for the police criminals themselves, well,if this is the kind of people who are policing the country, its no wonder that sexual predators get released on bail, and there is no real punishment...probably because they all want to watch child porn together! Its the kind of statistics that most goverments would be ashamed to be made public....but now its out in the open, its up to the Swedish people to force change.
As for your question "do you beat your men and let your children abuse other kids", most of us don't, but a few do, just like in any other country.
You do not seem able to either read or understand English
"Almost a third of all indictments faced by officers between 1998 and 2008 related to the alleged assault of wives, ex-girlfriends or former partners"
The study says that MALE Police officers where responsible for assualt on women.
"48 cases dealt with either assault or the related crime of gross violation of a WOMANS's integrity (gvov kvinnofridskränkning)."
less than 5 a year. I winder how that compares to other countries?
Fact number 1. Woman are responsible for more domestic assault cases than men and yet I see the statement in this news article referring to police officers that "the alleged assault of wives, ex-girlfriends or former partners". This could mean a couple of different things:
1. There were NO female police officer in the last 10 years
-or-
2. That ALL female police officers are lesbians and so have NO husbands or
-or-
3. That Swedish society does not take Female on Male violence very seriously, that the ONLY violence that counts and therefore should be reported is Male on Female
-or-
4. That Female on Male violence is underreported because no MAN wants to admit he got whooped by a female!
-or-
Does the police and the prosecutor's office just ignore domestic violence caused by female police officers because, well, it just is not possible, and we will get laughed out of court?
Your article states "assault or the related crime of gross violation of a woman's integrity". Is there no "related crime of gross violation of a MANS's integrity"?
Violence is violence and it should not be skewed so that one sex looks more guilty than the other!
Fact number 2: In the 10 years that this article talked about, you state that 48 police officers ... 48 out of HOW MANY? 48 out of 50 and we have a catastrophic epidemic! 48 out of 1,000,000 and we have a well below average for violence!
These numbers are important! What would be really cool is if you were to break down in percentages the percent of officers rate of crime vs the percent of the rate of crime for the general population.
Herr Emil....no offence to swedish men implied.i dont agree with any kind of violence as an answer to solving problems, call it a culteral difference thing. It seems i have jumped to a conclusion without knowing all the facts...so if i have offended anybody..apologies.
I think you should get some lessons in English before you start commenting on articles in an English language site.
There is absolutely NO correlation between this article and Swedish women beating their men. All it says 'In General' is that attacks on men come ninth and attacks on women come 13th. There is no evidence that the attacks on men where by women or that the attacks on women where by men. Statistics will show that show that the majority of attacks both on men and upon women are perpetrated by men.
I get pi**ed off with people like you, with a one-track mind ,who insist on detracting from reasonable comment by turning any and every discussion into the subject that you want to pontificate on.
If you want to discus the subjects that are top of the agenda in your pea brain then either find a site with a forum on that subject or start your own forum
The women should simply and eagerly do as they are expected or told.
"sherkovic," your comment makes no sense.
"DAVID T," your comment is spot on.
