Koenigsegg is the right solution to bring SAAB back to being a premium technically advanced car manufacturer again.
If SAAB can be allowed to build the right cars then people will buy them.
The government prevarication is what will sink the deal not Koenigsegg.
Sigh.. Omg..
The RIGHT wing party is dragging its feet because it is right wing; if the social democrats were in power Saab would have gotten financial support from the government and then they wouldn't be in this mess.
Our left wing isn't socialistic and our right wing, which you claim is socialistic, most certainly isn't socialistic. There has never been a socialistic or communistic country. Go back home yankee. Helt jävla otroligt. And please stop watching fox news, it's poison for the mind.
The current 9-3 has been about for the last 7 years, and the 9-5 for over 12 years, most of their competing brands are working on a 7 year cycle, the first 4 years the car is as released and then given a face lift to see it through the last 3 years of its life. SAAB have done that, but they are doing it to cars which are just too old now, there is only so much that they can do with a face lift.
As for Koenigsegg buying out SAAB, well GM where going to get rid of SAAB to the highest bidder, and if the Koenigsegg bid was not excipted then there was a good chance that some of the Chineese companies would have steped in, and as with the buy out of MG Rover in the UK, once it was bought over the UK production line was closed and everything moved to China for cost reasons.
So while a lot of people may not like the Koenigsegg take over of SAAB, it could be the better of two evils. So I say for now we should wait to see if he makes a mess of things before we condem him.
I for one am looking forward to the 9-5 replacement due in 2010, even if it is an ecco of the GM era, at least it will be a new SAAB that can compete with the other manafatures.
