I love the usage by Bible bashers of only the Old Testament scriptures. The New Testament is about Christ and the love that is available to all who believe. Whenever there is a conflict between New and Old testaments, Christ's teachings should be followed. However, that being said no where in the red texts of the New Testament does Jesus bust out an, "It's alllll good, baby!" The Son was not a moral relativist.

Well written response. Of course...with all the snow of late... I'll be sitting on a snowblower drinking my tea and eating my scone. My house spiritually speaking is a house of cards...ultimately we're all sinners in life and God loves us as we are...but I guess the creator wants to change us and mold us in the creators image.

I think that we should acknowledge what the Bible states and then either downplay certain verses or not...that's where the spectrum of instights into God emerges from (nevermind our actual lives where God's presence shines).

The old testament is not talking about our world, but the spiritual world. It is a map about understanding forces going on inside us. For instance the story of The Israelites leaving Egypt and entering Israel, represents the leaving of our Ego( Egypt - Desire to recieve for oneself ) and entering Israel ( Spiritual world- Desire to give )

So the words taken in the bible have completely other meanings. Only when we as Humans understand that all of us are actually 1 being, like the cells in our body, being us, will we understand the bible properly.

Remember: If the church doesn't like it, it's "abnormal," even if 50% of people try it at some point. Even if everyone involved enjoys it. Even if no one is harmed.

Because what's really important here is worrying about how people have sex. That killing, cheating, stealing, abusing and lying stuff, that's important too, but first, make sure you have only the approved kind of sex.

Because that's what Christ's love is all about.

It interesting to read so many points of view but it is also obvious that most of those points of view have little or no education in Christianity. It is very clear that bible tells us to love one another and to treat each other the way we want to be treated by others. The bible also says many things are wrong with homosexuality being one along with envy, gluttony, adultery, theft, murder among others. The church's leaders should be able to set the example and those who commit these sins should not be allowed to continue in their leadership positions. What would Sweden do if it's king decided to become a devout muslim. Should they be allowed to start changing the royal family along with the country? How would Swede's feel if it's king became a rampant homosexual and divorced the queen and decided to take on a male queen?

The bible is the most recored and documented historical book in history. It has thousand of copies dating by over a thousand years. These copies have very little variation and have been translated by many many hebrew scholars. For those who have studied the bible and the history of it's origins and why the text was chosen to be in the bible vesus that which was discared it is again obvious these things are harmful and wrong.

If we did everything that felt natural and good to all of us then alcoholics and drug addicts should drink and drug themselves to death and paedophile's should be able to molest children. These things are wrong because they are bad for us. Homosexuality while understandable is harmful because having anal sex is one of the easist ways to spread disease to both parties and although not as serious will after many years usually require the receiver to either wear diapers or have corrective anal surgery.

I have never been able to understand why some people need religioun to be descent upstanding members of society.
