Sweden boasts record high population growth

I am curious to see the intellectual, financial and social contribution these newly arrived immigrants will bestow up on Sweden.

@ Peropaco: Did you read the article very well? It says that alot of birth is taking place, why are you so racial about immigrants? Swedish citizens also emigrate to other countries too as you can read. You sound so racial in your comment, the world has become a global village as people move from one place to another. You should have a broad and accommodating attitude and stop looking for immigrants to fail. Grow up.

I had no idea Swedes still emigrated to the USA. Any numbers on recent years?

I think many native Swedes are concerned about the intellectual, financial and social contributions of immigrants (newly arrived or not). This would be the case in any country, not only Sweden. There is nothing "racial" (I think you meant racist) about the post at all... In my opinion, it is YOU who is naive and needs to "grow up."

@ Peropaco: I never read any comment that you said racism but, it is my interpretation because you are particular about what immigrants can do to the economy, like a sacastic statement. Of course any one that comes to Sweden is not allowed to constitute a nuisance to the economy, that was why the government established the SFI for migrant to learn the Swedish language first, and from there go to some vocational schools and then pick a job and start paying taxes. Alot of foreigners are working and paying taxes, okay you wait and see how they will contribute to the Swedish economy because I am sure alot are not constituting a nuisance.

Come off it! They are costing us more money than they will ever be able or willing to return and they just keep on coming.

Now, I can reach out an helping hand to just about anyone in real need, but when we are being taking advantage of and they start using and abusing the system I get rather pizzzed off. And I know I'm not alone with these thoughts.

Besides, many, if not as much as half of those coming within these borders are not the innocent victims they shine to be at all, but a bunch of criminals who probably would be put away for all time at home or even executed for crimes they have committed. They come here and claim the "rights" they never even had within their own borders and demand we give them everything they screaming for. I am not the only one who "happens" to know a great deal of very delicate information when it comes down to immigration issues in this country.

And yes, swedes do immigrate too. But the difference here is that we accept and embrace the rules and laws in the country we chose to live in. We don't "claim our rights" and demand their state or government to provide for us. If we did, they would probably just throw us out rather fast and head first. See ya!

Sweden has become a bloody asylum resort for far too many criminals as it is. And of course, they get pregnant and bring a lot of kids to the world that we also have to take care of in the end.

Well, if you vote for the Marxist Party in charge now you get more immigrants. If you instead vote for the far left marxists of the opposing coalition you'll get more immigrants and more taxation. It's all about choice.

@ Jan-Bug: Good points you made but, I think you are just one sided. Not all migrants are criminals, some may be as you claimed but not proven, you cannot take one case and put every one in that category. Well you vote for the party that allows less migrants to sweden and let them change the laws on immigration so that you can be satisfied.

As long as one is allowed in sweden, then the right is given and it does not matter even if they get it in their home country or not. Every one should be treated equally. Everyone is born and created by God and has the right to live. Are you trying to promote discrimination in a country that gives one the right to live there? It will be unfair to treat you as a king or queen and treat migrants like second class citizens. So get it straight that when a right is given, that person should be treated equally, would you like to be treated badly if you migrate to another country and face some second class conditions? Judge for yourself.

I have been to a couple of "BB" care units the last years and it was not an encouraging sight. It seemed like every other newborn child was second or third generation immigrant. When these children grow up they will be able to vote. We can only pray to god they do not all come together to vote in Sharia laws in Sweden. As the demographic curves look right now they will probably be able to vote through the Sharia laws sometime around 2050. That is if they don't get well integrated and start to spread their votes across the political spectrum. But it doesn't look good on the integration front right now.

Fact: the number one name for a baby boy born in Malmö today is Mohammed. Make of that what you will....

Somalians and Irakies both have loads of kids and both are mostly Muslims ..

talk about Culture clash..what chance do they have in Sweden probably not educated and almost impossible to get a job ..How is this going to benefit Sweden in the future let alone themselves..its bad business from the day one..for Sweden that is..the cost to educate intergrate is massive.

can you really count new people moving to sweden(immigrants) as swedish? i think these numbers are off a bit and don't you have to be born swedish and have REAL roots in sweden? i think the swedes moving to the usa has moved down a bit. did the panel take in account of swedes born into multicultural families(one' s swede and the other isn't)?

Yes, lionking, change is inevitable and is often good. No country should close off its borders and refuse to let outsiders in. However, controlled immigration is the smart choice. Only a foolish man would invite cockroaches into his home and then sit back and admire the change he has wrought.

That, by the way, is an analogy and I am in not seriously comparing people to cockroaches. However, there are some immigrants who, due to their religion convictions, have no respect for the laws, culture and tradition of Sweden. They have no intention of assimilating into Swedish society. I often tell young folks that if I had life to live over again I'd look real close at moving to Sweden, Canada, etc to raise my children. We really do have to look into ourselves, immigration is sure one way because all the ravages and hundreds of years of savage (ops civilized) exploitation of all resources of the so called third world counries, just ask yourself why should a somali ever even think to come to sweden or any other european country?, maybe because the west is direct and non direct responsible of what is happening there? didnt many european leave their home countries to find a better life?, and btw many of them where not exactly goodfellas (new zealand, australia and others are well known to be previous open air prisons to undesired citizens of their own country) what about countries like italy that really did immigration on huge scale, by the millions and still do, exporting good things but also mafia and organized crime still now, funny thing is that italians right now feel superior and have repulsion to immigrants coming to italy (many of them from ex italin colonies) and turning out to be far far more racist than germans , swiss and nordics combined (admitting that those are racist which they are not anymore), we really have to look to the phenomenon on right perspective, we dont ask about chinese immigration because they are invisibile ruled by the chinese mafia where slavery is running as usual, just because we dont see it it doesnt mean it doesnt exist,

About immigrants in sweden, swedes should thank those people because if any one will pay for their pension and welfare it wont be their fellow citizens but 2nd and third generation immigrants, clealry newcomers wont, time is neded for adaptation and so on, people must see the phenomenon in terms of mass and global scale we should think in terms of decades evend hundreds of years its called evolution thats how it works.
