In the latest battle over what people may legally call their children, the Swedish Tax Authority (Skatteverket) has ruled that the parents of a two-month-old boy in Skåne in southern Sweden may not call their child Allah.

why people like these have rusts on their brains.
Muslims the worse bit about it is they don't understand themselves the extreme of it all...
was speaking to a Muslim arab regarding religion and his said Mohamed comes before his own mother !!!
that just opened my eyes to how extreme there religion is and to never trust a race who believes such myths.
Are you sure that you do not make up things here?
But still, Skatteverket is right in one thing:"names that can give offence or be seen to cause discomfort for the bearer"....and yes, people like Mr Beynch here would be able to do God knows what to the poor baby...hahahaha. Ohh, sorry I said God.
I have a name suggestion to for the little bugger.. Asmodai. ;-).
I think the big difference is that christians are taught to love one another because we are all sinners. So christians are supposed to love sinners and rebuke the sins.
But many muslims are taught that murdering in gods name is a heroic act "Allah is Great". They are also taught the women and children are property and that it is ok to murder them if they offend their family. It's also ok to murder homosexuals.
The overall message from Jesus is very different (Love one another and treat others the way each of us would want to be treated). The Allah and Mohammed messaged is the opposite (Kill others if they do not do as you think they should do).
The couple trying to name their kid Allah have a pretty transparent Islamophobic agenda. They're a bunch of agents provocateurs who will most certainly use this to show the Swedish state has been taken over by...you guessed it...Muslims. It's obvious. This story will be plastered all over Spencer-ish websites.
I suppose you have short memory... All this Islamophobia started after 9/11 and if you start looking at the brutality Christians had shown in the wars are far greater than what Muslims have done. Take an example of crusade, reflect what Christians did when they invaded Jerusalem and what Muslims did. What about world wars. Why you civilized people were messing around only few decades ago? Christians killing Christians and jews and saying love the sinners. huh!
ha ha
Some of you have raised the question, "why Jesus is cool name but Allah is not". Well, Jesus is as human Moses and Mohammad and as well as Jesus was a prophet as Moses and Mohammad. He was surely a prophet though some of you may confront me with another notion that he was/is a God that was crucified in the manner of human being to omit your sins (for Christians)
Names like Moses and Mohammad are widely used within the Jews and Muslim communities. Particularly within the Muslim society, they name their kids Moses and Mohammad as well as Issah or Issa (which is the name Allah or God calls Jesus in the holly Quran). The point is that, you can name your kid a name that is related with creatures not the creator. We are just human beings, helpless, needy and never get sufficient with our lives in this world or the other, so that is why we are named the created, or creature however, there is a divine power that is omnipresent and omnipotent that exists. Technically we may have our own definitions for this supernatural being but we surely all have the same thinking that there is some mighty power behind the creation of the cosmos - the earth, the sky and all those in between including you that is reading this comment now.
With what capacity can you name your kid, which is the created with the creator's name, Allah or God? Whichever name you may call, God, Allah and so on. I think it is not intellectually cool to name your kid, the created with name (names) of the creator.
I am a Muslim as you can see in my name. If I name my kid I would name Abdallah which consists of two names - Abd = servant and Allah the creator of the creatures - cosmos or universe and all those in between. And that is how we Muslims name our kids. Moreover, we also name our kids all the biblical names, we don't have objection to all those names mentioned in the bible (both old testament and the new testament), though linguistically there might be very slight changes, for example, Jacob, we may say it this way - Ya'qub and so forth.
This comment is only for elaboration not to offend or start argument.
Ah ah ah ah! If you could read well at the bottom of the previous comment you wouldn't have responded to me. The way I explained things, are the way they really are in our societies. You are (have roots of) either a Christian, Jews or a Muslim and that is who you will always be, except from what you got as an inborn desire to interact with others - thinking outside the box and that depends on you bro....!!! Whether you listen to me or listen to others! That was what I was going to tell you, get it or not I am not concerned. I am not going to talk more on religious stuff and I don't want to waste my time with it.
Take the previous comment as an essential and even potentially a short course of human diversity if you are ready to be a student of human culture. Let's respect our diversity brother, if you don't respect mine expect no mercy from my side then, unless I am forgiving unlike you.
Get the point boys!
@lingonberrie: I totally agree with you. Swedes should live the way they want. I was responding to the discussion which was not far away from the original topic.
God Jul to all readers. Spend some time with family and come back strongly ;)
Yeah, sure, Sweden is a nanny state. Come to Australia and enjoy seeing games given the R18+ rating and be banned at the same time; and soon the internet will be filtered at ISP level. Or have a look at China or North Korea; now that is two nanny states.
It seems that you have been watching to many Hollywood or Swedish (ARN) versions of history that portray the musselman as defenders of the Holy Land. The First Crusade was waged by Pope Urban II after the Musselman invaded Jerusalem. At the behest of the Byzantine emperor the Church sent voluteers to repel the Seljuk Turk invaders. Not much has changed in the last thousand years. Muslims start it, civilized society has to apply a beat down.
We need to understand that Islam is a Christian sect and that the crusades was just one big fight between those who believed in the trinity and those who did not. That plus other idiotic ideas such as abolishment of interest, which inevitably leads to people living like vegetables or by plunder of thy neighbour. Yes, that pretty much sums up the fate of many of its brethern.
This is clearly proven by the first inscription on the al aqsa mosque. Read it remembering that Mohammed is not just a name but has the meaning The blessed one. Its a hymn to the profet Jesus nothing less.

World War I was started because heir to Austria-Hungary throne was assassinated by a group from Serbia. The Austrians declared war on Serbia and the Russians stepped in to support Serbia. This lead Germany to support Austria. Then the domino effect kicked in with every European country supporting their allies. World War I was started and the fall out and consequences for Germany's lose lead to World War II.
@ Taxalien Islam is not a Christian Sect but based on completely different principles and different prophets. The Koran was re-written it the 1700's to include many of the same miracles the Jesus performed as evidenced by the previous copies lacking these texts in older copies of the Koran. The Bible on the other hand is the most documented old text in existence with very little variation.
The current wars are another matter. Muslims sneak attack on America was just like Japanese in World War II. Except the muslims were mostly thugs that had taken control of several counties.
@calebian22: who was the civilized world during crusades? Killing women and children are the act of civilized world? Why the heck Christian volunteers went for the revenge? Wasn't it a Jewish state to begin with (with your definition of first come, first serve) so Christian invaded it somehow? Why? Jews called Muslims in many occasions to save them from Christians. Christians were never civilized until the recently when industrial revolution started in West.
Moreover, you definition "beat down". Why did Christians ruled Muslim countries (in Africa and Asia) in the last century? What "reason" will you give now?
The only reason would be to inflict intended controversity, so it's just as good that the little bugger didn't get to be called Allah. Allah, Jehova or whatever false, made up god you call you child after would only be in order to make a mockery out of the poor, sad people who actually believes in such silly things.

Islam does not allow killing at all, and from your comment I can tell that you don't know a single thing about the religion, It's actually all about forgiving and loving and living peacefully with other people from other cultures, I don't think anyone should be allowed to jusge this religion by any knowledge that is not based on Coran.
These terrorists that we hear about nowadays, these are brainwashed idiots without future plans, they may have lost all their family members and money and for such a sad person it's very easy to get them to do whatever these evil terrorists want them to, but it's totally against what Islam wants muslims to behave like.
I think its easier to solve the spelling of Quran than the trinity concept. Which birthday you are celebrating; son, father or holy spirit? Now please stop here and enjoy your holidays.
Well I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to those who believe(I
celebrate this holiday).... and , I know that EID (Muslim holiday)
is over, so for those who believe in
a God and for those who do not.....peace be with you all. Oh, I am
not much for religious names. My ex husband is. I have a Joshua
and a Michael. To me, they go by Ziggy and Ozzy. Would those nicknames
be allowed in Sweden? Enjoy the day.
It's like saying that black is the new white.
A monotheistic religion can by definition not be tolerant, as opposed to any polytheistic religion. In a polytheistic religion it doesn't matter if you worship your navel or the big old oak behind the farmhouse, as it is by definition each to their own. All monotheistic religions however all have scores to be settled with anyone that shows up naming other deities as fully operational sources of inspiration in life. And all of them have taken it a serious business to deal with any such blashpemy, in the past or the present. Christians are quite good at this game, black is white. They will say how good they are, that they tolerate other religions. However, nothing can be farther from the truth. When the debate raged whether the state should be tolerant to all religions the Christians didn't just lie down or jump up in joy of such a brilliant idea, they fought it with all the hatefull rethoric they could muster. The west is tolerant because its politicans where enlightened, liberal and thus tolerant, not because the Catholics, Protestants or Orthodox thought they needed some fresh blood in the ecumenical debate.
I have no intention of getting into an argument with someone who knows nothing about history. I thought a little history lesson would enlighten you a little bit about who were the agressors and who were the defenders in the First Crusade.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hannaukah
There is nothing in a name.It is work that matters when the child becomes a man.
Let me ask u, did u stumble on those hadiths (which btw r out of context) accidentally and then realize how evil islam is? Or did u deliberately google for such hadiths to vindicate ur preconceived notions of Islam?
its a rhetorical question so dont under any circumstances feel obliged to answer
am pretty sure deep down everybody on this forum knows the answer, even if we r 2 prejudiced 2 admit it
And, no, I'm no expert at all, but I can read, and Robert Spencer at
http://www.jihadwatch.org/
compiles authoritative teachings from world-leading experts, those from INSIDE islan, following the teachings over centuries, that give the complete and unvarnished reality of the repression, hatred, and hostility that is contained in its "teachings".
Take a look at

to get a feel for the breadth and depth of the assault.
We are fighting deception used as a tool of war. Don't take my word for it: educate, and protect, yourself and your family.
Since their book "teaches" them to use deception when necessary to spread their control, being forewarned is being forearmed. sharia law is their goal, learn about it and its tragic implications. Then warn others.
By definition, those who shout the loudest get the most attention - if you don't agree with how the vocal minority are displaying or distorting your belief system, say so. Make your dissent heard. Give people the option of believing you're not all fundamentalist nutters, by presenting them with an alternative.
So endeth the sermon. :-)
