Tiger Wood's extramarital activities were no secret to other golfers, Swedish LPGA star Helen Alfredsson said on Wednesday, claiming she first heard rumours about his infidelities during last summer's British Open.

Alfredsson described Woods as "cold" and said there was "something odd about him" that belied the clean image he enjoyed until the sex scandal erupted four weeks ago.

"In the quietest water swims the ugliest fish," she said.

Alfredsson is the first professional golfer to speak out about Woods cheating on his Swedish wife Elin, the New York Daily News reported, citing her interview with Swedish television station TV4.

Woods, a week shy of his 34th birthday, has indefinitely halted his golf career to cope with personal issues in the wake of a media storm that has seen at least 14 women claim affairs with him.

"If he just paid for the escorts, I understand it a bit more. Then no one needed to know," Alfredsson said. "But now he did everything and a girlfriend and everything."

Alfredsson, 44, said she wondered why Woods even bothered to marry when he was reportedly using Elin's pregnancy as an excuse for not being with a woman a full 12 months before his first child was born.

"When he says to the girl that he cannot see her because he has family matters, when Elin will give birth, is he not a bit cold?" Alfredsson pondered.

Elin Woods has reportedly hired a prominent Hollywood divorce attorney and was said to be most upset about Woods carrying on one relationship for three years and another while she was pregnant.

In other Tiger-related news, Golf Digest announced it was putting the 14-time major winner's advice column on ice. The magazine, which pictured Woods and US President Barack Obama on its latest cover before the scandal broke, said Woods will not write his usual monthly pieces for the magazine during his professional hiatus.

"Golf Digest has had a long-standing relationship with Tiger Woods to provide instruction articles for the magazine, and we do not have any plans to change that," the magazine said in a statement.

"We respect Tiger's decision to take a break from professional golf and focus on his family. Tiger's bylined instruction articles will not be published in Golf Digest during his time away from the game."

Woods has written for Golf Digest since turning professional in 1996.

Oh that is rich...a Swedish golfer describing a non-Swede as "cold." He must be made of ice.
12:10 December 24, 2009 by peropaco
@Stockholm Sam,

Indeed that's hillarious...She's under the impression that Swedes are very warm and exciting people... She is only 44 and look like an old primary school teacher. Whats up with that?
12:22 December 24, 2009 by benomax
Hummmmmmmm, now she wants to poke her nose into wood's issue to attract more attention to herself. She should mind her business period.
12:51 December 24, 2009 by peropaco
Thats the calvinistic approach. But her nose in other people buzz without having any attributes of their own.
13:04 December 24, 2009 by koded
I wonder why all these noise about Tiger wood. Non of these people that speaks or poke nose on Tiger issue are no saint.

Alfredsson, dont know she is disgracing herself in the public. Because how come she knew that Tiger was cheating her wife before? That means she is gosiper instead of a golfer! Or is she also telling us that she had an affair with wood? How on earth that she come to British opening instead of minding her business she is interested knowing if wood is cheating or not. I am sure she must have admired Tiger wood.

Boring, boring, boring, etc., etc.
13:30 December 24, 2009 by benomax
@Koded: You are very correct, we need to investigate this issue, she may be making some secret passes at Tiger Wood or maybe some thing more happened, hahahaha. The truth will unfold soon.
13:42 December 24, 2009 by Beynch
Based on the descriptions above, Woods is selfish, cold, egocentric, manipulative, disinterested in anything but his own comfort. I guess he had us all fooled with his cleancut ways and healthy looks. There are now also reports in the U.S. media that he was taking steroids. May he disappear into oblivion. It turned out that he was nothing nore than a low-rent, trailer park, piece of nothing! Holmberg's daughter must ensure that she shakes him down for every last cent he's got! Pre-nup notwithstanding. Woods' product endorsements have al but dried up. Hopefully he will not be welcome at even the simplest backyard, garbage strewn, golf course. He's done! Finished! Finis! Zu Ende! Конец! Konec! Slut! (The Swedish word for "finished" is appropriated judging from the many women he bedded while married to Holmberg's daughter) So long Woods. It was fun while it lasted.
13:50 December 24, 2009 by livinginsweden
Woods is a better golfer than I thought ... imagine screwing around so much and still winning so many tournaments...

ha ha My hat off to Tiger
14:55 December 24, 2009 by Beynch
Pardon my numerical jibberish above. I guess The Local's word system does not tolerate cyrillic.
14:57 December 24, 2009 by Osokin
The question still remains , why in hell did he marry the nanny ?
15:07 December 24, 2009 by Beynch
@Osokin: Because in Woods' eyes she was just another pancake waitress whom he could add to his roster of sluts.
15:30 December 24, 2009 by jonstella
@peropaco, If you hate Sweden so much, then stop sponging off their government and go back to where you came from, you sad sad man. Or do you just enjoy sitting on your arse playing in front of the computer and living on handouts ??

As for Woods, I used be think he was great but the guys a idiot and his standing in history will always be tainted, sad but true. PERIOD !!!!
15:41 December 24, 2009 by kent
helen alfredsson is an OLD DRIED UP PRUNE.

of course tiger didn't give her the time of day.

she thinks he is cold and aloof.

holy cr*p she expects an in the prime of his life worlds most successful golfer to look at her with the same warmth in his eyes he gives to 22 yr old hotties and his wife ?????

BBBBBBBBBWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

CHALK THIS UP to just another OLD HAG being miffed she is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY PAST ANY MAN who is TOP NOTCH giving a hoot if she lives or dies....

old women that gossip like this should be locked in stocks and given the dunking chair, they are nothing but TROUBLE makers 100%
15:45 December 24, 2009 by Mack
Funniest to me is that she implies it would have been ok if he just paid for escorts. Maybe Tiger's relationship with Elin is what drove him to look for warmth somewhere else. Maybe he is just a horny bastard. It is really none of our business.
15:48 December 24, 2009 by double concerto
Looks like Woods was nowhere near good enough to be anywhere near Elin. Woods has reverted to the stereotype black man, shame on him for letting his fellows down in the eyes of the whole world.
16:20 December 24, 2009 by G Kin
People like Alfredsson Double concerto etc

make me sympatise with woods.

Elin ran to her gold mine without getting to know the man!

And by the way, Woods isn't BLACK!
17:08 December 24, 2009 by Osokin
Beynch, I insist, pancakes or not, why marry her ? She wasn't even pregnant when they married. The guy could have had anyone he wanted, basically. If he wasn't willing to settle down and live a family life, he wouldn't had married until he wanted it so. I think for putting at risk half his fortune plus losing access to his future kids he must have been commited to that relationship.

So him cheating makes sense only in this light : Elin stopped catering to his manly needs. Only this would explain what happened. Considering her position, that could very well have been intentional also. I think Woods was short sighted about Elin and he is the only victim in this story. This will reflect in how they are going to walk out of it too.
17:25 December 24, 2009 by G Kin
@Osokin

Why would Tiger lose his kids?. Because he cheated?

You and Elin must be joking. Asking for full costudy is why too far. Wouldn't that be selfish on her part? Why take children away from their father?.

He may not be a good husband to her buy you know what?

He is still a great dad to them.
18:08 December 24, 2009 by Osokin
G Kin try to understand what you read
19:53 December 24, 2009 by G Kin
@Osokin

OK I take that since you meant

losing access to his future kids

But I did get over the media (CNN)that she was thinking of full costudy!
22:14 December 24, 2009 by max79
Oh yeah, Americans are the warm and kind ones? PA-LEEESE! They smile that fake smile at anyone and them stab them in the back as soon as they've turned away and gone. It's all so superficial and artificial, a plastic world without a sould, just like it's people.
22:47 December 24, 2009 by dizzymoe33
@max79 not all of us Americans are like that. I am sorry if you have met an American that has acted like this towards you. Please stop grouping us all into one catagory I don't do that with the Swedish people I meet.
23:01 December 24, 2009 by max79
I'm just using the same "language" as the previous posters.

Of course you're not all like that. I'm sick to death by always hearing this and that about Sweden and it's people here. What the hell are you doing here then? I mean, if I were to live in a country I despised so much I'd leave in a heartbeat. The Local seems to have beacome some sort of online society for whiny expat losers who doesn't seem to do anything else than sit here and complain.

Do something about it instead , it's a free world last time I checked.
23:16 December 24, 2009 by dizzymoe33
I understand max79 and agree with you. The same thing is happening her in America all these illegals come here and don't want to adapt to our culture they want us to change to their culture and so the "race card" is thrown about all the time and I want to say go back to your own country if you don't like it.
02:12 December 25, 2009 by RoyceD
What do people expect from Woods? He is just a man, no more no less.

Who gives a sh*t?
22:42 December 25, 2009 by peropaco
@jonstella, the big bonnläpp; the money I pay in taxes in Sweden, personal, capital and corporate reserve, is enough to support you and every member of your inept family. Including your intellectually disable aunt.
09:53 December 26, 2009 by Hagen
I don't mind Woods having an affair, but it is the massive deceit and the continual lies he told that I dislike. Let's face it, if he had no money; what decent girl would ever look twice at him ?
00:05 December 27, 2009 by lingonberrie
He has no reason to raise them.

He lost that right with his behaviour; he is unfit to raise children.

Elin is realizing now what a mistake that she has made with her marriage to him and she is in the process of correcting that mistake.

That she has returned to Sweden to buy property is indicative of her sound thinking, and that she is persuing the American court system to rightfully get her share of their money is also sound thinking.

He has also ruined her Christmas, his own, those of his children, and all of those family members on both sides with his totally uncalled for and wrong adulterous life-style that marks his real character and that shines a light on his total lack of integrity.

His billions cannot buy him happiness or respect. The fool has forfeited his right to either one and now he must face the life that alone he has made.

A Ben Hogan or a Sam Snead he is not.
08:38 December 27, 2009 by Hagen
""His billions cannot buy him happiness or respect. The fool has forfeited his right to either one and now he must face the life that alone he has made.""

Good post !! Woods has become a figure of fun, nobody is going to leave him alone with their wife, their children, or even their dog for that matter !

NEWS: Child services investigating (thank god) Elin's behavior in the Tiger woods beating... http://www.thesuperficial.com/2009/12/elin_woods_probably_hit_tiger.php

the reality here is that tiger was likely battered and assaulted.. this is never ok for either sex.. could you imagine if tiger acted like her?

well.. all i say is that Elin... and helen here should be ashamed of themselves... Tiger is no saint, but he didn't hit anyone..
03:51 December 31, 2009 by mieoux
double concerto: Woods is not black he's "Cablinasian" by his own description. He's black, white and asian by ethnicity. However he is reminding me of Magic Johnson and half a dozen Italian politicians.
04:01 January 4, 2010 by metalmonkey
"Cablinasian" What a load that is, well at least he didn't claim to be human. Any human would have had the decency to end things before and not do what he did. Hmmm I guess the humans are becoming endangered, and these "cheatablinasian" a-holes are becoming dominant.
