A powerful explosive device detonated at the entrance of a night club in central Malmö early on Monday morning.

No one was injured in the explosion, which took place at 3am at the entrance of the Buddha Lounge nightclub.

However, there was extensive physical damage, with windows being blown in at several nearby buildings.

“If a car had been passing by on Djäknegatan at the time of the explosion, things could have ended badly,” said Malmö police spokesperson Per Robertz to the TT news agency.

The Buddha Lounge was temporarily closed due to bankruptcy at the time of the explosion and police have received some information from eye witnesses who were in the area at the time of the blast.

Parts of Djäknegatan were blocked off after the explosion and forensic experts have started an investigation in order to determine what type of explosive was used.

The crime has been classified as devastation endangering the public.

“We don’t know of any motive for the attack, nor do we have any suspects,” Skåne police spokesperson Peter Martinsson told TT.

I don't know anything about the political background mentioned above, but this seems to happen quite often down in this region of Sweden. This would be the second club/bar/resturant blast I've head of in Malmö and one in Lund.

Sounds like something out of the Sopranos if someone wasn't paying the right people to keep their business 'safe'.

Look to the organized crime syndicate from the Balkans., all those scumbags moved to countries with a useless police force (Sweden, Denmark, Norway) and they are having a blast. They control most night clubs, dodgy looking restaurants, coffee joints, cigarette smuggling, human trafficking, prostitution, money laundering, drunks, loan shark, car theft, etc. Bravo Sweden..

I have noticed it is kind of obvious who they are in nightclubs in Malmo as well.

I do wonder how many nanoseconds late they were on there protection money or if this was the start of negotiations for a raise in payments?

Judging by the police saying they don't have any suspects, they don't want any suspects as it might disrupt there golf schedule with them.

I have seeing it here in Stockholm so many times. A friend owned a very classy restaurants in Gamla Stan back in the 90s till the early part of 2000 (trotzig) and those guys showed up a couple times saying we want to buy your place; he told them it wasn't for sale and they kept insisting until one day they gave him a deadline to sell. He went to the police and report the case and guess what they told him. Sorry dude, there isn't anything we can do.. No law has been broken so until then "nada".. For his own safety and his family, he sold the business...

I wish it was only about disrupting their gold schedule.. It is more about fear than anything else dear Nemesis ;-)

The situation in Sweden regarding organised crime is nuts. They don't even hide it.

Last year a friend in Helsingborg pointed out a police officer having coffee with a local gang leader, who runs several cafes. I couldn't believe they could be so blatant. That told me everything I needed to know.

The police are part of the problem. They turn a blind eye because they are profiting from it as well.

I have seen the way the gangs take over immigrant business's.

Back in Northern Ireland we knew there was protection rackets, but very rarely was anything publicly seen and very few outside the rackets had a true picture no matter what people thought they knew. Here in Sweden, they might as well be advertising it on television.

Don't get me wrong. I love living in Sweden. Sweden to needs to round up its politicians, police, gangs and judiciary and then jail the lot of them, before it is completely over run with crime.

"Back in Northern Ireland we knew there was protection rackets, but very rarely was anything publicly seen and very few outside the rackets had a true picture no matter what people thought they knew. Here in Sweden, they might as well be advertising it on television."

Can you explain what you mean by that? People didn't know about protection rackets in NI, but they do know about it in Sweden?

The Buddha Lounge was temporarily closed due to bankruptcy at the time of the explosion"

So all you protection racket theorists can you explain why some East European protection racket Mob would blow up a defunct business?
16:48 January 11, 2010 by Nemesis
@Mucker

Exactly what I said.

We knew there was protection rackets, but no one ever knew the exact details, extent or what was really going on behind the scenes and the majority of what people knew was speculation. It was all behind closed doors. The people running the rackets were not in the face of the public, although were in the faces of those they extorted.

Here in Sweden they don't seem to care who see's them.

What country do you come from that has no organised crime?
15:29 January 12, 2010 by square
Nemesis you now know the entire Swedish system is corrupt because a police officer was having a coffee with a suposed gang leader. Do you think basic policing is not trying to gain information in a setting where supposed criminals may feel at ease. Swedish police on the take, but in Northern Ireland everyone is oblivious to it other than criminals and victims, ha what a joke.

starting to look like bagdad, funny the libtards wanna blame white guy lars and not look at the truth that its probably brown people doing it. Hey good luck keeping your head in the sand.

A local gang called the Black Cobras was exacting revenge because the owner of the club pointed out two gang members involved in some other crime to the police. Or so theorize the police up to now. The Black Cobras are in fact of mostly immigrant back ground.

For a more complete picture I might add that the various gangs recruit from blue-eyed Swedes as well as immigrants.

Oh come on! Mafia? protection rackets? hahah hah hahahdiha! Paranoid speculation. Who would blow up a bankrupt business in revenge or as payback for unpaid protection? Get real. The only parties that would benefit from such an act are those seeking to aquire the club as a total loss or the bankruptees themselves. xcuse my spelling.
