Airbus slides off runway at Stockholm airport

An official investigation is underway after an Iran Air plane about to leave for Teheran on Saturday slid off the runway at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm. None of the 173 people onboard were hurt.

It was unclear why the incident occurred. “Some 100, 150 meters out on the runway (the plane) made a very slow turn and got stuck in the snow on the side of the runway,” Arlanda spokesman Jan Lindqvist told AFP.

He ruled out the possibility of icy conditions because the plane was moving so slowly. Other possibilities might include a braking problem or one motor running faster than the other.

Two other runways remained open. The Airbus was moved into shelter for investigations by the Swedish Accident Investigation Board (Haverikommission).

There is a strong possibility that one engine was running faster than the other due to short footage taken by a person behind the airport window.

As seen in the video footage, definitely an engine fault. There was a burst before it slides away from the track.

Engine of the Airplane was being discussed, not personal politics. It is always good to keep some check. It is a good move by The Local. But this gives us understanding about the propaganda against people who apply legal restrictions in Iran. Let us accept relality. Legal restrictions that can create ill-will are always good.

I think we are not just pitted against the people who do not agree. Rather people who do destructive criticism everytime things go against their personal wishes and desires. Then its good to silence them because that is a threat to the whole society. Afterall check and balance is meant for that very purpose if anyone likes it or not.
