Two people were injured on Friday afternoon when a car exploded at a Statoil service station in the Stockholm suburb Gubbängen.

"I have no details about about the status of those injured except that one of them is unconscious and is being treated by ambulance staff," said police spokeswoman Christina Johansson.

The car was stationed beside a petrol pump when the explosion took place at 3pm, rescue workers said. The cause of the explosion is not yet known.

Police sealed off the area around the petrol station following the blast but said there was no risk of further explosions.

you have more chance of starting an explosion with a static spark from your clothes than a mobile phone - the phone thing is an urban myth.

It is NOT making a call on a mobile that is risky at the gas station,,,it is DROPPING the phone and disloging the battery that started that urban myth in America!! Harry

According to an article in Aftonbladet it seems that the guys put in the wrong type of gas and tried to fill a gasol/LPG car with biogas.

The motering journalist claims that the car was imported into Sweden just 2 weeks ago and is a gasol/LPG car which are extremely rare in Sweden and almost impossible to fill.

Seems the woners didn't understand the difference.
