Whern joining the EU, it is made abundently clear to any state joining the EU, that EU law supercedes state law, with the exception being in times of national emergency or an agreed exception. There is no agreed exception and no national emergency, so the people in the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs are committing a criminal act.
There is no way to use commerical, low cannaboid hemp to get high. The authorities are in full knowledge of that. The people in the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs who made that decision are clearly engaging in criminal beahviour and should be removed from there jobs immediately. They have also through there criminal action vandalised a commerical crop and should face jail for that.
Hemp is a replacement crop for a lot of oil dreived products. It would be good to investigate if there was any lobbying from oil lobbyists over the decision by the authorities or if employees of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs have travelled to oil producing states on occassion.
The nonsense were authorities in various countries in Europe attempt to stop business start ups because a vested interest does not want another product competing directly against them, which does not require Saudi Arabian oil nees to stop.
There zenophobic stance should be noted by all. They clearly are an organisation against creation of small to medium sized industries and are intent on stopping creative business ideas which have the potential to create local jobs from starting up and from suceeding.
Hemp is a crop which makes brilliant paper and plastics. I have seen these products at expos. Hemp paper makes good quality printing paper.
The plant is related to cannabis, so what. The cannabis content is so low in commerical Hemp, that it is barely detectable and can not be used to get high. Anyone smoking commerical low cannabinoid Hemp will not get high and most likely spend the rest of the day coughing after trying to smoke it. It is unsmokable.
Hemp grows better than quite a few weeds let alone commercial crops and can grow in low production soils.
Hemp is more suitable than genetically modified tobacco plants for growing medicines and gives higher yields.
Hemp gives a natural fibre which can be embbed in some plastics to give very strong and biodegradable plastics.
Commerical, low cannabinoid Hemp will help in a small way to reduce reliance on oil imports for making plastics. Hemp reduces slightly oil imports which has a direct effect on a states balance of payments.
Hemp creates labour intensive farming which creates jobs in country areas with little employment oppertunities.
Hemp is a very good, fast burning, clean buring fuel for biomass burners to create energy.
Hemp is a win-win crop for all.
Hemp refers to the product grown by farmers that has NO THC. It is used for fabric, food and oil. I have not heard of HEMP being used for medicine like Marijuana can be used for.
Genetically modified Hemp can be used for medicine. There is some field trials at present. Literally it is fields:)
Some Hemp and and a lot of Flax were grown in Ireland until the 40´s, mostly for rope making and insulating materials for the British navy, which the irish government systematically discouraged from independance.
Now they are making a come back due to the high price of oil, which is good. I have flax seeds froma flax plant that is tough as hell, flowers twice a year instead of once every two years and has to be controlled with a saw to cut the fibres. It grows in the front garden fo my parents home and farmers pay for the seeds.
Beside my fathers home is a small artificial dam that was used to soak hemp and flax in to loosen the fibres before going of the factories.
When the word hemp or cannabis is mentioned .... people freak out more than those who actually smoke the real stuff.
relax.....
ha ha
Hemp is nothing whatsoever to do with cannabis.
Hemp cannabinoid levels far to low to get someone a high.
Hemp has killed, when it was used for making ropes for hangmen and ropes for artillery that shot stones and bolts in the middle ages.
Hemp has no use for someone who takes drugs.
Those against hemp usually are people lobbyed by oil companies or directly in the pockets of oil companies.
Now, completely, completely separate from industrial hemp, I wonder how many reader's here view of cannabis as a drug would change if they had been introduced to it in a different way; I found this article today in the health and fitness section of The Times of India posted today entitled: For Holi and Health, There's Bhang. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life/health-fitness/health/For-Holi-and-health-theres-bhang/articleshow/5611390.cms
What you're reading about there is the same stuff that has been xenophobically demonized in Sweden, the USA, and most of western world... yet it is a HEALTH product. Some progressive parts of the Western world have discovered the health benefits of full-THC cannabis through trial and error and are now beginning to change laws to reflect the fact that this is a health product and that even the recreational use is not as scary or dangerous as people have been thinking.
Anyway, that was a rant that doesn't have anything to do with industrial hemp, but is relevant because the fear of this health product is what caused the Swedish ministries to confuse the two products and take such invasive and destructive legal action against its own citizen. Swedish government: please learn the difference between the two products and please also learn that "drug" cannabis is a health product.
So, the farmer was totally right, they should have given him more for all the hassle.
Have I read that right ?.
Seven tonnes for medicinal purposes. You've got to be joking.
And the courts believed it was only going to be used for personal consumption.
Hemp is not cannabis.
I suggest you stop taking drugs, get into rehab and then maybe you can think and read up on the facts.
Well said, not that it really helps though, God save the queen of Holland,
this being said, what we are seing is third generation brain domage from intangible weapon:
"refer for madness " the second most successful mind control experiment via mass media,
seriously a malady of the mind... a 100 years ago 1.8 % of total population were drug addicts, today 1.8 % of the population are drug addicts

Are you serious in telling me hemp is not cannabis. And the more comments I read here that you post, makes me realise you are a complete self righteous arse.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemp
Read the top part very carefully.
The article above is very misleading.
@ Scepticion
If you had actually read the wikipedia article you would realise there is several strains of hemp. The article is not referring to the type of hemp commonly referred to as cannabis by people who take drugs. They are same genus, but with very different properties.
The strain of hemp that is being discussed does not have enough tetrahydrocannabinol delta 9 and tetrahydrocannabinol delta 11 to get you high. It would take about a hectare to get you high, you self righteous arse.
Regarding the article above, you are actually right on that, although wrong on everything else. The article has left out most of the facts as the local usually does to distort the entire story so as to meet an agenda. The local does that with every story. Read all the stories and then check them out in national newspapers and you will see how selective fact subtraction has distorted the story.
