Swedish security service Säpo has said it is monitoring Danish clothing firm Fighters + Lovers, which relocated to Sweden last year after six of its members were convicted of supporting terrorism.

Denmark's Supreme Court found in March 2009 that the company’s T-shirts violated Danish terror legislation as sales would support the PFLP in the Palestinian territories and the FARC in Colombia, both of which are included on the EU's list of terrorist organisations.

All six convicted members of Fighters + Lovers received conditional prison sentences of between two and six months. In response, the firm decided to move its T-shirt operations to Sweden despite the fact that Sweden is also legally obliged to follow the EU list.

Since August 2009 the firm has been selling its T-shirts from Sweden and states on its homepage that proceeds from the collection are being forwarded to the FARC and the PFLP.

According to news agency TT, Swedish security police (Säpo) are aware of the firm's presence in Sweden and are monitoring the situation but were unwilling to confirm what measures had been taken.

The firm operates a Swedish, Danish and Spanish web-shop to sell its T-shirts bearing logos with the groups' names, as well as a Facebook site used to explain its mission in support of groups that it describes as "freedom fighters and political activists."

The firm argues that terror legislation is out of all proportion.

"Showing solidarity to freedom fighters is not supporting terror," the group writes, explaining that proceeds from T-shirt sales go to lawyers providing legal aid to Palestinians and Colombians incarcerated by Israeli and Colombian intelligence services.

F&L's Danish director Michael Schølardt told Danish newspaper Politiken that since the court also fined the firm $165,000 proceeds are currently going to the Danish state and not the FARC nor the PFLP for the time being.

Direct funding of terrorism.

If these people ever set foot in Ireland, they will go to jail for a long time and not in a Swedish holiday jail.
20:05 March 11, 2010 by Beavis
You must be joking Nemesis! Sure theres Irish politicians out there openly supporting these same terorists, theyve nothing else to do now since the "peace process"! Just take a look in the shop window of Sinn Feins Hq in Dublin..

do you want to know who many Colombians have the FARC torture, rape, killed and force to join them have them in their count? This is a proof of foolishness of their mentality

Its amazing how many "freedom fighters" believe that the state should tell its citizens how to live and send to prison anyone who disagrees.

Fighting for democracy and capitalism is not the same as fighting for communism and sharia.

@ Beavis

If Sein Fein were to send a direct cheque to FARC no PFLP they would be in real trouble. Sein Fein get around this by having there idiotic minions rob a shop or bank instead and send the cash by courier who quite often is a weapons expert there to exchange knowledge.

I have seen an exchange between a columbian women whose father was torturd to death by FARC and someone from Dublin (Sein Fein supporter) idiotic to try to defend FARC, at in the bibliotek in SFI.

Another reason I like SFI:)

I was impressed by how she kneed him in the nuts.

In the Republic of Ireland if you try to raise money for FARC, the Gardai will very quickly turn up and rightly so.

Before you assume I am from one side or another in Ireland. I hate both vehmently. I have been to a few funerals and watched people I was at school with, go to jail one by one as there masters manipulated them. Also my parents are a mixed religeon marriage and so I well versed on both sides on the ground.

@Nemesis ....you missed my point completlely.. I used to drive past their shop every day. In the window they had the exact same tshirts for sale, from both of the groups mentioned. I agree that its horrific.Check the news also how many Sinn Fein councilers have openly addmited being out there training these monsters..
12:15 March 12, 2010 by Audrian
Terrorism (killing civilians) does not help a cause as it alienate the very people that would have supported the cause of freedom. This error is being committed in Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Under such climate the imperial divide and conquer strategy is gradually working.

@ Beavis

I was at nightclass with one of the idiots who went out to train with them. He was and still is an imbecile. He is a waste of genetic matieral and I could not imagine him using a gun without shooting himself or someone on his side. I dread to think what he would do with explosives if someone was stupid enough to let him near them.

Can you imagine Sein Fein actually giving someone money. I think not. That would be equivalent to the catholic church or free prebyterian church actually paying fines for raping children left, right and center without complaining about it. It is a physical impossibility. They would pocket it. No Irish politician would even have a nightmare about parting with money, let alone collect it for someone else and give it to them. They would not even understand the concept of giving someone money. It just would not compute.

Have you ever been bought a round of drink by anyone involved in Irish politics. I have had to deal with those annoying little gits a lot through work and have never seen them pay for anything. Irish politicians are parasites, all of them, north and south, without exception.

Sein Fein are probably ripping them of. If they are not, it would make headlines in Ireland for the next decade that a political act on the entire island of Ireland was not entirely self serving. Actually no one would believe it. A psychiatrist in Ireland would probably section someone for even considering that possibility.

As a matter of interest, is that the Sein Fein shop in Dublin, Belfast or where that you are talking about?
14:12 March 12, 2010 by south
Well,

I'm Colombia. I will say it is not about money they do not really need it because the FARC has a lot. They are the biggest drug cartel in the country among other unethical and illegal business they have today such as kidnapping or extortion.

Guys, it is just about a moral support to criminal behavior. Many people are not well informed and they think they are angels because they are "revolutioners" but it is just the cover to cheat to society.

Just remember, killings don not have justification at all !
14:39 March 12, 2010 by Beavis
@Nemesis... It was in Dublin, in the shop window for at least 2 years. Sinn Fein are out in Columbia trianing these monsters in return for drug money. Have a google on Niall Connolly, Sinn Fein's representative in Cuba and Martin McCauley, James Monaghan,..

2nd May 2002 a church in Choco, Columbia was blown up using an IRA bomb..199 dead..
14:39 March 12, 2010 by peropaco
At least Fighters + Lovers are honest about where the proceeds are going. Unlike others so called charity organizations
15:05 March 12, 2010 by Nemesis
@ Beavis

I remember seeing on the news those arrested for training people.

Could you do me a favour and post the link to the bombing. i did not know they had actually carried out bombings out there?

I knew they would be up to a lot, but did not realise it had gone that far.

I do not understand how anyone could be stupid enough to spread the insanity i grew up amidst anywhere else. There is always one insane enough.
15:30 March 12, 2010 by bira
Anyone stupid enough to thing that FARC are freedom fighters ought to be put on the ground in Columbia and head up the mountain to see for themselves.

Of course they relocated to Sweden. A careful analysis of the effectiveness of Swedish law enforcement would suggest that there's a massive difference between what's illegal and what's punished. The phrase getting away with murder has never been more appropriate or should that be rape. In fact maybe there's a long list of offences that don't get properly investigated and for which perpetrators get off really lightly. By that measure Sweden's a safe bet.
