Sweden plans Afghanistan orphanages

The Swedish government has announced plans to build homes in Afghanistan where unaccompanied children seeking asylum in Sweden can be sent.

"The most important thing is to enable the child to be reunited with its parents," said migration minister Tobias Billström to the newspaper.
Some of the children that arrive unaccompanied in Sweden are given residence permits, Billström said, only because they have no one to receive them if they are sent back to their home countries - not because they are persecuted.
The government proposal means that children who today would be able to stay in Sweden will in the future be deported.
"If the only basis for a child to stay in Sweden is because they are alone, then it is better that they live in their home country while a search is conducted for their parents," Billström told the newspaper.
The Swedish Migration Board has already been tasked with developing plans for the new children's homes, or care centres as they have been called.
During 2009 2,250 unaccompanied children under the age of 18 came to Sweden and applied for asylum. Most of them come from Afghanistan, Somalia and Iraq.

Kids can integrate very quickly specially those without parents. I hope you spend your tax on your retirement time.

you and your racist comments will never stop. Kids are born to cause problem. for while think what you done when you were kid... i am sure you have used more diapers than other kids...
nobody is really interested to leave their country unless there is some problem.
remember when Swedes had nothing to eat in Sweden no jobs nothing all they fled to USA now you can find more than 4 million Swedes who were economical refugee not war.
So let be fair to all humans and you never know what happen tomorrow to your country and when you fly to another land.
Everyday more than 100 people die in Afghanistan either by NATO or others.
Afghan kids deserve more love. there is not any single Afghan terrorist involvement in any bombing. Afghans only kicks as s in their land if you come as invaders but as guest you are welcome.
Too bad, children don't need this kind of crap.
Glad to see they are not completely thrown out though, the government has at least shown some goodwill by proposing to fund their well-being while in their home-lands. Not a completely bad situation for them.
