i for one wish to drive and pick up my relatives or friends that have never been to the country and not be slapped with 100 kroners ontop of the stupid parking price
quote: " But airport authorities stressed that the levy would only come into force if there was a concurrent improvement in rail and bus services to and from the airport.
Otherwise it's just a punishment tax and we don't want that," airport spokesman"
what a load of garbage!
Anything for a bit more..TAX.
But what you do? You must pay the tax because you need to use Arlanda.
It reminds a Movie which robbers had control over crossing border and used to get money from drivers . that was illegal but here it is legal coz u get kvitto.
Wait a minute, who says the same stupid thing won't happen here too.
The way it is going, I may soon start paying for my breathe since I emit CO2 :)
Idiots, idiots!
this just another way to control the people and get more money for the rich to be richer and the decrease of the climate is a natural process we are only a very small part of that process but all of the world leaders see a big chance to make people pay one way or another.
there is only one word for it GREED
How much emissions are actually being generated by cars on Arlanda property in the first place? It seems that there is only about a kilometer or two where you're actually driving there. The amount of emissions you're generating at Arlanda is miniscule in the whole scheme of things, especially when compared to those generated by a giant airliner moving around before and after takeoff.
I'm wondering if this toll is not really for emission reduction but to pay a fine for not meeting their goals. In that case, since the goals are a bit arbitrary to begin with, I would argue that they should change their target to another arbitrary, though higher, level. :-) However, if they're not having to pay a fine then I would guess that some bureaucrat is just trying to increase their budget by using a 'green' excuse.
And lastly, the idea to charge a toll on BOTH entry and exit is just stupid. Every car entering has to leave at some point so why wouldn't you just charge one time. Charging twice provides no additional advantage but just doubles the price of infrastructure and labor while increasing the chances of congestion and delays.
One thing these people should also consider is that, for some customers, they may actually encourage them to generate more CO2. It only takes me 30 minutes to drive to Arlanda but 90 minutes to Skavsta. I try to use Arlanda because it's more convenient but as they increase prices, the more likely I'll be to use Ryanair on more flights, and generate 3 times the emissions.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of this, this attitude of yours leads me to wonder what the heck you're doing in Sweden. Why don't you f%%% off back to whichever shithole you come from. And if you are there, then why do you bother?
Why the insults?? Every person is entitled to a view...I assume you are Swedish and are very proud and protective of your country...thats normal...but why through the insults because someone disagrees with policies??
Im sick of people slagging off foreigners...you should here the Swedes complain when they are abroad (I heard they were ranked 2nd at complaining behind the Brittish?)
Narrowed minded views!!
Plus does the airport managers really thing the public is that stupid to believe that its an enviromental tax to help cut CO2, yeah right , you have a million billion trees in the this country. surely that must count for something.
