Drunken Swedes kicked out of Denmark

Published: 1 May 10 09:39 CET | Print version
Online: http://www.thelocal.se/26398/20100501/

More than 100 Swedes were ejected from Helsingør in Denmark on Friday for starting fights, with the trouble continuing on the ferry back to Sweden.

"Between 100 and 200 Swedes, most of them men, behaved in a rowdy manner in Helsingør and were sent away. The rowdiness continued on the ferry," said police spokesman Mikael Persson.

Police said there were a lot of young people on board the vessel for the Walpurgis Night journey to Helsingborg in Sweded.

Back on Swedish ground, the troublemakers were met by police, resulting in the filing of five assault reports. Four of the alleged assaults took place at Kronborg castle in Helsingør and one on the ferry from the Danish town.

A 19-year-old man detained for minor narcotics offences is suspected of involvement in three of the alleged cases of assault.

Police said the trouble had not resulted in any serious injuries.

Does this count as news?

When I lived in Helsingör this happened most weekends......
11:33 May 1, 2010 by Nemesis
How exactly is this any different from any friday night in Helsingør?

I go through Helsingør about once every six to eight weeks on a friday. Even by 19.00 at night, sometimes they are fighting. The last time I was in a resturant in Helsingør, I asked the resturant owner why don't they just refuse to serve, them. He said that they need the Business. They had a fight in his resturant the previous friday.

Just watch them on a friday night in Copenhagen central station and sometimes it is the same thing.

Danes hate us -> kicked us out.

Finns hate us -> call us homo!

Norwegians hate us -> call us stupid!

Israelis hate us -> they consider us anti-Semitic.

Spanish -> consider us as just as a blonde piece of meat.

.....etc

It is only muslims who like and respect us!

This is just a little bit of Scandinavian sibling rivalry. No need for tantrums.
20:04 May 1, 2010 by Kronaboy
@dsc

What's that got to do with the fact that Denmark is nation of racist whale murders?

@Kronoboy

"Besides the Danes are nothing but a bunch of Swede hating Whale Murdering Bigoted Racists, to be honest I find it hard to separate them from the English" SIC

I object. The last whale I saw in the company of an Englishman was on a barge being given a lift up the Thames Estuary. Sadly, it died before they could pop it back in the sea; but not for the lack of trying. The exercise cost several hundred thousand Pounds of public money. I thought at the time that very few countries would invest that kind of cash to save a confused whale and was, for a moment, proud to be British.

As for "Bigoted Racists" SIC, no comment.

@Kevin Harris

and five minuets later they spent £2 million quid carpet bombing a school full of Paki kids in Iraq/Afghanistan, where you proud of that too?
20:31 May 2, 2010 by wxman
If even Danes think you are a rowdy drunk, then you definitely have a problem.

The only reason this made news was because of the magnitude of people extradicted, as well as the fact that it happened over Valborg weekend and readers were probably expecting/wanting to hear a story like this.

As for this becoming another ridiculous conversation about race and religion, ::sighhhh::

Lets be realistic - if you were a law enforcement officer who's charged with keeping the peace, and you have 100-200 rowdy brawling potentially drug-toting non-nationals causing trouble, you would extradict them too, because you CAN. Solves the problem. I'm sure the cops would have loved to have thrown some danes onto that ferry too, if they legally could have. Fewer rowdy brawlers = makes their job easier...more time for fika and donuts :P

Keep the women throw out the men..that would be my policy for swedes everywhere aborad...the men are in cumbersome bigot lot

Everyone knows Norwegians are simply superior!
07:30 May 4, 2010 by mjennin2
@HardOn (lol): If you throw out the men, would you kindly send them on a ferry to the US? Tack så mkt ;)
