Mankell accuses Israel of 'piracy'

Published: 2 Jun 10 17:21 CET | Print version
Online: http://www.thelocal.se/27000/20100602/

Top Swedish crime writer Henning Mankell has accused Israel of "piracy" for its attack on a Gaza-bound aid fleet and has denied weapons were stashed on the ships, in comments broadcast on Wednesday.

Mankell, the author of the popular Wallander series of detective novels, said Israeli commandos shot people who were sleeping during Monday's raid on the flotilla, in which nine activists were killed and dozens injured.

"The Israelis transformed their navy into a pirate enterprise," Mankell told reporters after he returned to the southwestern Swedish city of Gothenburg late Tuesday after taking part in the aid operation.

"All the ships (in the flotilla) were hijacked, and this was really piracy," said Mankell, whose comments were broadcast by Swedish public radio on Wednesday.

"What will happen next year when we come back with hundreds of boats? Will they fire a nuclear bomb?" he asked.

Mankell was one of 11 Swedes who participated in the operation, which involved a total of 682 people from 42 countries aboard six ships.

"We had expected to run into trouble when we reached the border (of Israeli territorial waters), but we were mistaken," Mankell said.

"Far from the limit, in (international) water, we were attacked... by helicopters, speedboats and other vessels and lots of commando soldiers who came onboard and hijacked ship after ship.

"They did not hesitate to attack using lethal force. They shot people who were sleeping," he said.

Mankell said the Israelis' claim that large numbers of weapons were found on the vessels was "nonsense."

"On the ship I was on, they found one weapon: my razor. And they actually came up and showed it off, my razor, so you see what level this was at," Mankell said.

The author further accused Israel of kidnap when it towed the ships to one of its ports and detained those on board.

"At the moment they started taking the boats towards Israel, we were all kidnapped. It is that simple," he said.

Despite the aid flotilla's failure to break Israel's blockade against the Gaza Strip and deliver some 10,000 tonnes of supplies, Mankell said the operation was a partial success.

"Today we know that Israel is on its knees. No one could predict that the rest of the world would react in this way. They are completely isolated," he said, adding "people are completely fed up with this brutality and this violence that the power (Israel) has on its conscience."

He said he was in "despair" over the killings and added that he was also saddened to think of "some of our friends who are still sitting in some very uncomfortable prisons in Israel, where they are being beaten.".

This will probably be the only sane comment in this thread... although just as worthless.

I think its best to just copy what was written in another thread:

From Thomas Friedman NYTIMES. Accurate summary:

I have no problem with Turkey or humanitarian groups loudly criticizing Israel. But I have a big problem when people get so agitated by Israel's actions in Gaza but are unmoved by Syria's involvement in the murder of the prime minister of Lebanon, by the Iranian regime's killing of its own citizens demonstrating for the right to have their votes counted, by Muslim suicide bombers murdering nearly 100 Ahmadi Muslims in mosques in Pakistan on Friday and by pro-Hamas gunmen destroying a U.N.-sponsored summer camp in Gaza because it wouldn't force Islamic fundamentalism down the throats of children. That concern for Gaza and Israel's blockade is so out of balance with these other horrific cases in the region that it is not surprising Israelis dismiss it as motivated by hatred — not the advice of friends.

Mossad is obviously busy sending out the word to all its trolls to smother every forum with pro-Israel propaganda.

Question how much per word do they pay? I'm a little short on black market cash. Not Israeli Shekels though, good ole US dollars for me. any serious offers can be sent to me by PM. I can assure you of a very good post on as many forums as you want. I am much better than the usual dross you employ up til now LOL

what else was it , if it wasnt a piracy by a terrorist state. it is pure terrorism and privacy.

thank you Mr Mankell for speaking out. please repeat the ships, do the voyages and never give up. the honest, peace loving people of the world are with you.

Another naive Hamas dupe. One should give him all the respect and sympathy that was directed at naive, idealistic Nazi sympathizers. That is, none whatsoever.

The Euros are frantically trying to appease and placate their own restive Muslim populations hoping to just get along. It won't work.
19:21 June 2, 2010 by StockholmSam
With all due respect to Mr. Mankell, I have a hard time believing anyone on these ships was asleep when all this happened. Imagine the helicopters and gunboats and people shouting and running around fighting. Who sleeps through that?

Somali Pirates vs Israel.

Israel Somali Pirates

1. Hijacks ships yes Yes.

2. feeds hostages No Yes

3. kills hostages Yes No

poof guess what, Somali pirates win. they are more civilized compared to the terrorist state.

Mankell, you boarded on the wrong ship buddy. You thought they really just wanted to deliver aid to the Gaza people didn't you. Those who arranged it were looking for confrontation.

The activists who launched the vicious assault on the boarding soldiers knew full well what they were doing. They had issued threat after threat against the IDF in the days building up to this morning's clash, with convoy organiser Huwaida Arraf brashly declaring his group's unwavering dedication to reaching Gaza: "They are going to have to forcefully stop us."

Club-wielding assailants might not fit the cute and cuddly image of stereotypical aid workers, but there can be no doubt from the evidence that those attacking the Israeli forces were not the archetype of calm and measured peace activists.

"Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population."

-- David Ben Gurion, quoted in The Jewish Paradox, by Nahum Goldmann, Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1978, p. 99.

Some hard facts for Mankell to digest:

Fact 1: Israel imposed a blockade of Gaza to prevent weapon-carrying ships (such as Karine-A, look it up) from reaching the radical Islamic regime there that continues to make war on Israeli civilians, and vowed never to stop this war until all of Israel is destroyed. Furthermore, Egypt too blockades the strip for its own reasons, yet no one complains about it.

Fact 2: Humanitarian relief is delivered to Gaza from Israel on a daily basis. During the first three months of this year, 94,500 tons of supplies were transferred to Gaza from Israel, including 48,000 tons of food products; 40,000 tons of wheat; 2,760 tons of rice; 1,987 tons of clothes and footwear; and 553 tons of milk powder and baby food.

Fact 3: Even though it was done on international waters, the seizure wasn't "piracy", but very much LEGAL under the San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea, according to paragraphs 67, 146 and 14.

Fact 4: Israel never intended to block the humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza. Israel simply asked the organizers to deliver their humanitarian aid first to an Israeli port where it would be inspected before being forwarded to Gaza. The organizers refused, and ignored multiple instructions from Israeli navy ships to change course and follow them to Ashdod. "There are two possible happy endings," a Muslim activist on board explained, "either we will reach Gaza or we will achieve martyrdom."

Fact 5: When the family of Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier who was kidnapped during a cross-border raid by Hamas in 2006, offered to support the flotilla if, in exchange, they would agree to ask Hamas to permit international agencies to visit their son - they were rebuffed.

Fact 6: When Israeli commandos descended to the deck of the Marmara, they were assaulted and beaten with metal poles, knives, and baseball bats by the Palestinians on board (look it up in youtube). Furthermore, at least three of the 9 dead hooligans expressed their desire to become "shahids" (martyrs) on this sail, another Dutch activist was found to be a senior Hamas member, while others were found to have links to other terror organizations like Al-Qaida. So much for the "Israel massacred innocent peaceful humanitarian activists" theory.

And so much for Mankell's bold faced lies. But alas, it looks like he's got a pretty supportive audience for his BS in this country.
19:59 June 2, 2010 by diegoveggie
the idea that these guys were 'peace' activists is ridiculous, to say the least. these so called activists were given several chances to drop off the aid in egypt, so they could deliver it. they refused. they were also warned about not going into gaza, several times, they chose to ignore it. and then, they somehow thought that it'd be a good idea to welcome armed special forces soldiers with metal bars and knives. pretty stupid decision. i guess if you hit an armed soldier with a metal bar, expect to get shot. simple as that.

If someone can kill innocent children pelting stones on tanks, can you expect they will do anything right. Piracy is a small word.
20:16 June 2, 2010 by Hagrid
OK Rick… Naturally it's difficult for you to actually dispute any of the solid facts I presented, so you resort to the easy solution of questioning my credibility.

But you know Rick, perhaps you're right, maybe I SHOULD contact the Mossad and demand some money. What a sucker I've been all this time, writing for free. As for the Mossad employing you as you suggested in @3 - then with the superficial and sloganistic reasoning in your writing - I bet the Mossad would actually pay you to continue posting on behalf of the other side.

If i read the question between the lines correctly, let me just say I am neither a Jew nor Christian, I am a local swede with both Israeli and Palestinian friends trying to make sense of all the hatred and bullshit posted as comments all over The Local.

I want to hear a healthy conversation and arguments from both sides.

Israel says that its soldiers where attacked so they responded.

Now if YOU where on a ship in international waters and a heavily armed and masked intruder Jumps on top of you from a helicopter, how are you going to react?

OK guys its only the IDF here to stun, beat and kill us lets just lye down and die like good little blockade busters should do.

@hagrid and pintoflex. You two seem to have some pretty violent tendencies. What would you do when somebody attacks you?

Is it fair to accuse Israel of piracy?

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has explained in words that even Henning Mankell and Carl Bildt in particular should be able to understand. The Full text later - for now, these are only excerpts of the speech he made about three hours ago:

"Mankell accuses Israel of 'piracy' "

Mankell is being very soft and polite. Israelis leaders are freak-animals.
22:33 June 2, 2010 by Hagrid
Yes, that's the one, eZee.se. And here's another video just released, of the "activists" on board the Marmara throwing various objects at an IDF boat, including stun grenades and iron chains:

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4223683/new-flotilla-video-released

Another video, taken from the ship's security cameras, shows the "activists" gearing up for battle. I've seen it on TV but not on youtube yet. Now this may not seem too much, but remember: these people professed themselves to be "innocent peaceful activists on a humanitarian aid mission"! Well, it certainly doesn't look this way from all the videos. They have proven themselves as liars. And if these are the "peaceful" types, I really don't want to meet the more militant ones...

"Stun beat and kill", Rick? That's demagoguery. The IDF was there simply to take control of the ship and divert it from Gaza. That's why the first soldiers who first descended were equipped merely with paint guns. All the violence could have been avoided. If these so-called "peace activists" hadn't tried to lynch the soldiers, everything would have ended peacefully... Just like in the other boats who did not riot and there was no bloodshed. Anyway, the facts I listed in my original comment already address every angle of this saga, and I really don't feel like repeating myself. I guess you found no real response for them.

BURTON, SIR RICHARD FRANCIS. 19th century British diplomat, writer. After a sting as consul at Damascus, Syria, where some years before, a Catholicpriest was allegedly murdered in a blood ritual by Jews, Burton took aninterest in the matter. His investigations satisfied him that such killingsactually were performed by certain sects of Jews.

"The Jew's hand was ever, like Ishmael's, against every man but those belonging to the Synagogue. His fierce passions and fiendish cunning, combined with abnormal powers of intellect, with intense vitality, and with a persistency of purpose which the world has rarely seen, and whetted moreover by a keen thirst for blood engendered by defeat and subjection, combined to make him the deadly enemy of all mankind, whilst his unsocial and iniquitous Oral Law contributed to inflame his wild lust of pelf, and to justify the crimes suggested by spite and superstition."
23:45 June 2, 2010 by Guy with a big whang
Yep, in the videos they look peaceful all right ;)

@Authentica,

I'll quote anybody, unlike some people... i have no problems in quoting jews

or for that matter christians, muslims, hindus or whatever.

@Rick Methven (#24),

If I was going by customs of a country, and they told me i had to follow certain procedures before entering their land, I would.

And like it or not, that IS Isreal, their land, their country, their state.

If I didnt follow their instructions, and in this case **repeated** instructions - few would argue i would deserve what would be coming to me.

Or to put it in baby terms, imagine you are coming into Stockholm via Arlanda and you didnt want to follow the security procedures, and even put up a fight when told repeatedly what to do - you would certainly get what you deserved coming to you.

00:15 June 3, 2010 by foxpur
@Hagrid: Those figures you gave, if that is fact for 3 months, wouldn't feed 1 million people for 3 weeks (except baby food, that was fair). So it's hardly aid if it doesn't actually aid.

Also, according to Red Cross there have only been 2-3 deliveries over the following 2 years of smaller amounts and no medical. Aid needs to be a bit more... aid like..
00:19 June 3, 2010 by Buckshot
This is state sponsored terrorism.

You can argue about if this ships should be allowed to enter Gaza, but:

The ships were attacked on f*cking INTERNATIONAL WATERS.

Boycott everything made in Israel.

00:24 June 3, 2010 by foxpur
Personal Thoughts: I see no reason for Israel to stop the blockade, it has a valid reason --- BUT ships should be searched in a peaceful and support to declared aid ship. If they have weapon of a war nature (sticks and stones DO NOT count) then stop them, take the weapons. If they ARE a Aid ship, let them through... open up on what aid actually is.

Israel Jews should remember they needed help from people during World War II against Nazi forces.. where all the Jews were locked into a walled area and slowly killed and food had to be secretly smuggled in.... Sound familiar? How is this different in effect (yes, the facts differ, but the overall effect looks exactly the same in result)

Being a victim of so called HOLOCAUST they are proving to be a GREAT FOLLOWER of HITLER.

I HAIL European and other western countries. In spite of reservedness towards ISLAM, they are supporting the cause of PALESTINIAN and showing their love towards humanity.

WELL DONE EUROPE.

My simple question is to SO CALLED ARAB COUNTRIES ruled by present DICTATORS, Who are not just keeping mum on the issue of PALESTINE but also PROVING their IMPOTENCE. How far you bend your heads and A_S_S.

Hey this is about saving live, giving hope and help those in need. not about muslim or jews or what the f"#k not. If these ships were aids to Isreal and was attack by the muslims then the whole damn world would be sreaming TERRORST.

Remember one thing extremist are fanatics not sane muslims.....and a huge group of muslims in Gaza are not fanatics, they just want their home....not to be driven out like dogs. Attacking the ships in international waters is an act of terrorism, so the same to those suiside bombers that blew up Twin towers, Bali incident and etc.......
06:44 June 3, 2010 by telrod
Pro-Israel propaganda in America is like a thick layer of yellow choking gas. The Zionists can bomb orphanages and hospitals and the poor Jews are always the victims. Nothing escapes this gas of lies and it's exactly like the Nazi propaganda machine where the Germans didn't have a clue on what was happening outside Germany.
07:22 June 3, 2010 by Mzungu
Perhaps the waring environment might change a tiny little bit if this was to stop?

Between Israel's disengagement from Gaza through last November 30, Palestinian forces fired 3,123 rockets into southern Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calculates. Since Hamas seized control in June 2007, Gazans have shot 1,685 rockets into Israel -- 1,212 of them between January 1 and November 30, 2008. Hamas fired 177 missiles at Israel, even during a June 19-December 19, 2008 "state of calm." Indeed, rockets are Gaza's chief export.

Gazans also fired 2,299 mortar shells into Israel since 2005. Israelis traded land for peace. Instead, they got land for pieces of shrapnel. Since Israel withdrew, Gaza's rockets and mortars have pummeled southern Israel, killing 17, wounding 851, and terrorizing some 200,000 others.

*just a thought*
07:37 June 3, 2010 by krdx
If, Israel is sure, everything happened as they showed at cameras:

1) Why they hadn"t give back the activists cameras, mobile phones?

Israel did not let any other information to be provided to the world for almost 1 day! 2)Activists say: IDF start to shot the ship before they land to ship. So, what would you aspect from activists to do then?

3)If this ship was a greenpeace ship or any other type of ship and if it was Iran which attacked what would have happened?

4)New generation will not remember Jews as victim of Hitler, instead as supporter of a goverment who killed peace activists

5)I agree with Rich Metven that, here the same people usually repated the same words, and try to manipulate here. They have nothing but just blame immigrants (muslim ones!), and just provide biased data to convince the rest of the world

6)Israel was being supported for many years since they claimed they are the only democracy in the region! Now, Turkey showed his progess and power.

7)Israel stil claims and will try to say that Turkey is fundementalist country, due to the current goverment, the reality is not true. Current goverment, even they do not hide they are muslims, they would like to integrate in europe. Do they have defects, yes, but they agree on having a secular country, with European norms. On the other hand, Isreal is a "religion based" country.

8)Israel is trying to prove that, these is not humatarian aid, it is islamic aid. It is not true. it is well organized, multi national humatarian aid. On the other hand, if it were an islamic organisation bringing aid, what is the difference? it is going for the people in the suffer.

9)IDF lost all its reputation, They proved that, they are easily beatable!

10)about knives, if it was used, some stupid people asked why they had knives..hej, stupid! don't u ever use knive in your kitchen?

11)advice to Israel goverment: resign and let Jews to select another peaceful goverment, asap. New ships are coming..You can not have a war with Turkey. Turkey is not Syria, Turkey is not Iraq. You were not able to beat Lubnan, how come you can beat Turkey?

I point out again that there IS cause for Israel to blockade Gaza, I don't like that they are doing it, but the reasons behind it are acceptable

This does NOT mean blockage anything that moved from getting in however, that's called a seige, it means for can stop everyone - make sure there are no war based weapons (rocks and sticks are not a war weapon) and let them thru to Gaza if they have no weapons, more-so if they bring aid. If they have weapons, Israel can take them and arrest and keep the ship for all I care - but they have tp be war weapons.

The first reports from the news reporters on board the Turkish Ship are coming in, it transpires the first person to be shot was a Turk attempting to fend off (with water from a water hose) IDF forces boarding by boat, he was shot in the arm. The first Turk to be shot dead, was shot directly in the top of his skull, apparently IDF forces pointed their weapons from port holes in the helicopter and randomly sprayed the deck. So contrary to IDF claims, the actual shooting started before the first solider illegally landed on Turkish soil. Apparently one of the Turks who was throwing tomatoes at IDF was first shot and then while lying helpless on the deck murdered with shot to the head. I also understand 3 of dead died on board 3 hours after they were shot despite demands by the Captain they be medi vaced.

In THIS ONE CASE it's Israel and I strongly disagree with what they are doing. Some say it was provocation, and so f** what??? They have those people in a gheto like the Nazis had them once just because they voted for Hamas. How many of us haven't voted for some M.F some time??? They are mostly civilians including children. Imagin that some country destroys your home and block like that the place where you live just because someone happened to win the elections ... so we should block each other in the whole world?. If Israel has the balls they say they have, so send the soldiers on foot and take the FEW ONES who are the real terrorist and stop destroying civilian lives. Now hey don't want any provocation... c'on! They attacked Libanom with the excuse that there are terrorist in the country. So the whole Europe should've bombed Ireland in IRA times? Or better, let's destroy Spain because of ETA!!! Whats the differebce, why Lebanom and not Ireland or Spain. Because we are white and christians? Don't you see that was the plan when they left Gaza? The new what they were doing from that time and new all this was gonna happen. They took their people outta ther just to smash the place freely in avery possible way.

It transpires a member of the Knesset, who was on board during the armed invasion of Sovereign Turkish territory, also requested in their native language the 3 wounded Turkish Civilians (who were left to die of their wounds) be given medical assistance.

One of the Europe major failings immediately before the WWII started was its belief that Hitler could appeased. Instead it emboldened him. In the end tens of millions of Europeans including Jews were wiped out. Russians with 23 million lost most. The WWII lesson does not seem to be heeded, because every time Israel is criticized, the Zionist cry it is "anti-Semitic" and Europe looks the other way. The emboldened Zionists are ethnically cleansing Palestinians by brutalizing and murdering them on daily basis.

The world body should demand more than lifting the embargo on Gaza. Israel should leave all the land it occupied in 1967 without conditions attached. The US government is part of the problem.

We the people of Europe and the US should boycott Israeli goods until it gives Palestinians their independence or allows Palestinians to vote in united Israel-Palestinian country, where religion of both nations is banished from politics for good.

I think its basically the Muslims who are feeling butt hurt (like they just got taken from behind) because they cannot forget how little Israel kicked 4 surrounding countries behind... all Arab countries - in less than a week, showing the world the value and skills of the Arab people and "Allah's people" in general.

Tiny little Israel is surrounded by bigger Arab countries, but still holds its head up strong and dictates who can come in and how they can come in.

I kind of understand, if they were my people - I too would be pretty ashamed of myself.

@ Guy with a big'un

Have you been creeping up behind these naughty arabs? ;-))

I think you hit the nail on the head, although I thought they liked it from behind

Hindustani786 is a muslim MF trying to hide behind a hindu identity (786 blows you away) just like all the other muslims hiding behind non-muslim nicks like europeman31, openminded, kronaboy, buckshot, marko, etc.

Anyways, muslim appeasement will only lead to more terrorists attacks. It is written in quaran that there will be no peace till all world turns to (p)islam. (http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Quran/023-violence.htm).

So if you kill them all now or later is just a matter of time.

For my terrorist loving friends , quit talking about this being "piracy" simply because:

(let me repeat)

According the the UN conventions, it's only piracy when commited by private entities. State actors are not included NO MATTER IF ITS 10 OR 100 MILES FROM THEIR STATE..

But another fact you will throw out of your numskulls of course, but worth mentioning nonetheless.

@Flintis, they do like it from behind... why do you think they were sheep and camel herders for so long? Unfortunately I am not willing to give them my big whang simply because 1. im not gay, 2. even if i was i wouldnt give it to the pedo followers (least we forget Aisha was 6-9 years old when Muhammed defiled her).

@wolverine2k, exactly, apparently the whole world belongs to 'Allah's people' - unfortunately he didnt give them brains to handle even a small part of it, for example did you see what they did to Afghanistan when the Taliban got it? or what they are doing to Denmark and the UK? now imagine if they got *total* control of someplace like New York... I know, hard to imagine but still scary thoughts.

More lies from the Israeli propaganda ministry that attacking civilian vessels on international waters is legal. It's funny you see the same faulty argument on several forums. Hmm I wonder why...

Check out what an expert has to say about it:

The tragic loss of life aboard the Turkish vessel indicates the complexity of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. On the Palestinian side, the world accepts their firing of rockets for seven years into Israel as "normal", while vehemently condemning Israel's naval blockade, incursion into Gaza, and other preventive measures as "murderous" acts. I am curious how many Swedish activists have signed petitions demanding that Hamas provide corporal Shalit with letters and packages from his parents and visit by the Red Cross (accepted protocols of Geneva Convention on Prisoners of War). The Palestinians are clearly being used by Hamas as the "sacrificial lamb". A possible resolution of this problem could be achieved if the Palestinians living in Gaza could vote in a moratorium indicating whether they support rocket attacks on Israeli civilian centers or not. If the vote were to overwhelmingly support of rocket attacks, then Israel is doing the right thing by imposing a naval blockade.

@ #65: Right to the point. And why didn't their allah give them brains? Cause he was busy arranging the 72 perpetual virgins for each guy. Guess it was pretty hard for him since he denied entry of women into the haram (I mean jannat).

So half part of his time is spent in trying to solve the above problem and the other half, he is busy burning unbelievers in hell again and again. Imagine burning once, then giving new skin and burning again and so on without any breaks! What a sucker job!

And his burden is only going to increase because he will have more non-believers to burn and more martyrs to distribute his limited supply of virgins. BTW, he should probably do some round robin scheduling of the virgins between all the martyrs ;)
09:10 June 4, 2010 by flintis
@wolverine......

Now I know why they each need 72 virgins, it's to clean up the sh#t from all the white horses ;-))

Wonder where they pile it, I could do with some for my rose bushes.

@Audrian

I disagree, I think the USA is the problem, not only in Palestine, but also in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Mexico, Colombia, Somalia etc...

@Guy with a big whang

Yes I agree that for a 1000 years the Turks did all the fighting while the Arabs (excluding the North Africans) sat on their backsides and took all the credit, however you appear to show a surprising lack of historical knowledge or deliberately ignoring historical facts, such as the fact that from 1918 to 1948 the Europeans systematically disarmed the local Arabs while flooding the Zionists with arms. In fact as far as I am aware the only Army that was capable of putting up a reasonably equipped force was the Jordanians, and if you you knew anything about the region you would know that they are ethnic Jews. However stepping aside from all that rubbish, as former member of the UK military I have yet to meet anyone who has served in any military that would describe attacking Civilian areas with phosphorus shells as courageous. By the way, were you one of the Jews that was having a picnic on the hills over looking Gaza, cheering every time a brave IDF soldier fired a 155mm shell from 20km away at one of these dangerous Hamas members:

Believe it or not, both Israel & Hamas actually benefit from such incidents.

Israel's motives are obvious, the most important one being maintaining the blockade on Gaza.

Hamas actually uses the same argument that Israel does.

Israel to Gazans: Hamas is starving you.

Hamas To Gazas: Israel is starving you.

Poor Gazans. And they thought they were electing the lesser of two evils (anecdotal evidence showed Fateh was a lot more corrupt than Hamas).

Fact of the matter is, Hamas has long been infiltrated. It's no secret... So one shouldn't be surprised that Hamas often "inadvertently" serves Israel's interests.

Unfortunately, there's no loophole for Gazans to get out of this... charade..

It is true. This site blocks linking the video, that clearly shows how the peaceful activists attack the soldiers. Should the Swedish people not see this video? Why? Who is organizing this anti-israel propaganda?

I already experienced the anti-swiss propaganda after the minaret-ban. Is this all because of the high number of muslims here in Sweden?
