Two brothers suspected of setting fire to the home of the Swedish Muhammad cartoonist Lars Vilks were charged with arson on Thursday.

The suspects, who originate from Landskrona in western Sweden are charged with arson at Vilks' home in Nyhamnsläge, north of Höganäs on the west coast, on May 15th.

The house suffered extensive damage in the fire which was started in the evening. A kitchen window was shattered and flammable liquid was sprayed into the kitchen and while a curtain caught fire and the flames spread to a kitchen cupboard, the wall and ceiling, it later went out by itself.

The evidence against the men included two fire-damaged jackets, a knife, two plastic bottles and a lighter, as well as a pair of underwear and a jackknife.

In one of the jackets that police found at the crime scene, they found a key to the home of one of the brothers.

Further incriminating evidence supporting the charges against the brothers includes the fact that one of the brothers admitted himself to hospital on the same night as the with burns to his legs. The man also smelled of gasoline, according to a hospital employee that chief prosecutor Eva-Marie Persson has called as a witness.

Police were able to demonstrate from the analysis from a seized PC that one of the brothers had searched for Vilks' address on the internet.

The Swedish idea of protecting the accused by withholding most relevant facts of a case does not enhance the fairness of the criminal process. Because a crime is an offense against citizenship, against all people and citizens in Sweden, we should be fully informed of all but the most prejudicial circumstances which apply to the case. The rights of the accused can still be vigorously protected.

If I recall correctly, the location of Mr. Vilks's home (not the exact address) was published widely. Why was he not afforded as much protection as these brothers who found him by doing a simple search, already knowing his hometown?

In addition, will this arson be charged properly as a hate crime? It undoubtedly is one.

"The suspects, who originate from Landskrona in western Sweden" I see. Just your typical run of the mill Swedish youth I presume.

I keep telling everybody that will listen, MUSLIMS are the ruination of the free West.

No other group in the west is carrying on like the Muslims are and they wonder why we don't want anything to do with them. Duh!!!!!
18:58 July 1, 2010 by ali_bin_umar
@memyselfandi..... " why we don't want anything to do with them?"

How much you WANT more to do after killing them(MUSLIMS) in Iraq , Afghanistan, Palestine , Kashmir, Bosnia, Chechenya?

Lars and ongoing drama has been scripted and directed by the same people who killed so many muslims.
19:17 July 1, 2010 by Nachos
@Ali_bin_laden_umar- Muslims in these places that you mentioned are killing more Muslims everyday than any international force has. Get real and stop blaming others.

If Vilks had written a cartoon about Buddha, does anyone think Buddhists would have tried to burn down his home or attack him in public? Same thing with Christians, Mormons and any other religion?? Has anyone tried to burn down the house of that guy who said that Jesus wasn't crucified?

These brothers need to be deported immediately. And yes, what they did IS a HATE CRIME. Landskrona's Muslim community has produced arsonists and murderers of the elderly in the last few months. What's next?
19:48 July 1, 2010 by ali_bin_umar
@Nachos... blaming the whole community on the behalf of those arshonists is again not justifiable. International forces are infact bunch of occupying forces having no rationality to attack other countries on false claims. And muslims killing of muslims happened again after international forces invasion. Infact these same forces are the CAUSE for so many ills we see in the muslim world today. I am very much real and I will blame for what they (intl forces) did to these countries..
19:54 July 1, 2010 by arslan11
@Nachos

How many people were killed in Iraq before US invasion?? this is policy of west to divide and then rule Muslims land just for the sake of natural resources. BBC recently published that Afghanistan has natural resources like lithium worth trillion of dollars...Shame on you.

Whether Jesus was crucified or not is a historical debate but depicting Prophet as dog is entirely different.. Moreover if christians or Budhist dont mind insult of there prophet as they are doubtful of their faith, then this doesn't reveal that Muslims should do the same..

For muslims, Prophet Muhammad comes first before country, family everything and west should remember that..

@ali_bin_umar,

thanks for that tripe, made me laugh ;)

Cheers mate!

I'm not sure, but I think I just read some justifications for arson. We live in Sweden, not Iraq. Sweden. I do not make light of peoples feelings/opinions, but arson is not a legitimate expression, except in war. We don't have a war here and we don't want one, do we?
20:53 July 1, 2010 by Nachos
In fact, you just did read two justifications for arson. A noted Danish psychologist recently did an interview after several years of working with Muslim youth criminals. One thing revealed was that these people have zero ability to self-criticize, self-reflect or be accountable for one's actions.

That said, it's only expected that ali bin umar and arselan would come to the defense of arsonists and demand that the West adapt to Muslims' views about religious prophets. It's hilarious actually.

@ rufus.t.firefly I agree with you, how much someone hate Lars but words should be countered with words.

People of other religions have behaved the same way. The latest example is the MF Hussain, an indian artist who painted the Hindu gods in nude and has been threatened by extremists. Different organizations in India are offering millions as bounty for killing him. Look at the following link.

In west, religion related violence has decreased very recently. Look at abortion related violence in Europe and USA and you will find killings, bombings, arson......

Muslim cartoons depicting the West are all peaches and candy canes. If you think these are bad you should see what they teach children in the ME. I dont remember any embassies being bombed, or people being killed, over the cartoons below, or the thousands like them.

arslan,

"For muslims, Prophet Muhammad comes first before country, family everything and west should remember that.."

What about Kyrgyzstan? The violence there is sunni muslim on sunni muslim. Apparently, being Kyrgyz or Uzbek is more important than mohammed.

Islam is a death cult with no use in a civilized society as it is a combination of acts that are illegal almost everywhere. Deport them to their side of the sand berm and let the Wests's Armies keep them out after the Police are done punishing them.

What are the "Hostiles" positive contribution to society????
