Finnair starts Bromma service in August

Finnair will launch a new connection from Helsinki to Stockholm through Bromma on August 16th in addition to its services to Arlanda, the airline has announced.

The service marks Finnair's return to the airport, which it last flew to in 1962 before the opening of Arlanda, when international traffic was transferred there.

Finnair will fly to Bromma twice daily from Monday to Friday and once on Sundays. The airline's Danish partner Sun-Air of Scandinavia will also operate daily service on the route in addition to that provided by Finnair.

"The new, fast connection will best serve business passengers who travel often between Helsinki and Stockholm," said Finnair vice president of network strategy and traffic planning Petteri Kostermaa.

"Bromma Airport is very efficient. It's possible to check in 15 minutes before departure, which shortens the overall travel time," he added.

Finnair hopes Swedish passengers will fly on the route for its connections to Asia through Helsinki. It also expects that passengers will take advantage of Bromma's proximity to both downtown Stockholm and the Kista business area, where many international companies are located.

In addition to the Bromma route, Finnair flies 50 flights a week between Helsinki and Arlanda. Bromma's strict environmental and noise restrictions limit the type of aircraft that can land at the airport. Finnair will fly to Bromma with Embraer aircraft.

Besides Helsinki, Bromma currently offers international daily service to Brussels on Brussels Airlines, Sunday to Friday service to Trondheim via Östersund on NextJet and Monday to Friday service to Aarhus and Sunday to Friday service to Billund on Sun-Air.
