Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter (DN.se) and state broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT) have been reported to the police for publishing child porn in the form of manga cartoons, prohibited under Swedish law.

Even if the legislation has been passed, it is possible for it to be debated in the press and public forums - discussion will mean that any lack of detail in the law will have to be clarified.
There is plenty of manga not involving sex.
Presumably the legislation is based upon at least 1 report and a committee review, with statistics correlating to offenders and victims.
Afterall, surely we are not living in a country where the ultra-orthodox right Christians shape policy.
Is she receiving psychiatric help for her abuse?
What about her family?
are they getting help from a professional as well?
Her whole life must be ruined now, the trauma for the poor cartoon child.
I think her family should sue the newspaper as well for being so careless.
/sarcasm
The total stupidity of this law baffles me.
Concentrate on getting the sickos who actually affect abused children - ie. the ones who make, distribute and possess porn of **real** children
then make the penalties a few times stronger for the crime of making, distributing and possession of such material. Don't waste resources chasing cartoons because of a law created by morons and then complain that there is a lack of resources to get the actual sickos.
In short, get some ****ing sense into the justice system, but I guess thats just too much to ask.
Perhaps if someone could send me the address of the judge who oversaw ThePirateBay trial we could ask him whats the price to buy some precedence into the Swedish justice system and if its in Dollars, Kronas or Euros.
Take for example this article about a swedish woman complaining to the Ombudsman about a *sexist cheese commercial* (in Danish):
http://politiken.dk/tjek/dagligliv/jura/article1032900.ece
To problem was, of course, that the cheese people stated that "the taste is in the hole", and the woman, of course, got worried about "what kind of society we live in, and the general view on women" (My translations).
Priceless ;-)
Thanks! That really did hit my funny bone!
Wouldnt be too surprised if the feminist party points out to that "ghastly" article as proof about the injustices to women though ;)
