Fredrik Reinfeldt's Moderate Party wants to spend 3 billion kronor ($410 million) over the next three years on job coaching, work experience and training, creating over 31,000 new opportunities in 2011 and 2012, according to party estimates.

"It is now the right time to expand the volumes," Reinfeldt said during a campaign stop in Norrköping.

The investment is temporary for the next two years with a focus on 2011. The package involves the creation of 6,000 extra work experience placements, 13,300 job coaching places and 1,000 more opportunities in folk high schools.

Around 2,000 unemployed young people are to be offered higher study grants in order to tempt them to complete their studies at Komvux adult education schools.

The Moderates also want to reinforce the employment support provision for the long term unemployed, so that the ceiling for remuneration to employers is lifted from 750 kronor to 890 kronor per day up to 85 percent of wage costs. At the same time the qualification for those to be employed under the scheme would be raised from 14 months to 24 months of unemployment.

The investment is budgeted to cost a total of 1.4 billion kronor and cover 6,000 people in 2011 and 2012.

The Moderates also want to change the conditions for young people to qualify for the youth jobs guarantee. Currently the requirement is three consecutive months of unemployment and would be changed to an accumulated three months in a four month period to enable young people to accept short-term temporary jobs.

The entire package, which is yet to be negotiated with the Moderates' three coalition parties, covers 31,000 places and is budgeted to cost 3 billion kronor.

What more can be said? The matter is now settled in advance.

With this announcement the Social Democrats have been outmanoeuvred and cannot call the pledge a mere ploy.

And so the army of the unemployed say a prayer, thank the Almighty for the Alliance and ask for Blessings on the Alliance for whom victory is now assured on 19th September 2010 unless perhaps Lars Ohly and Mona's Social Democracy can come up with more pork (the valfläsk/pork barrel) and top the Alliance's pledge by one billion kronor, making a promise to devote 4 billion kronor to the same cause, at which time the pentecostals may affirm :

" Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."

Jobcoaching only works for the books of Adeccos and similar HR companies. They could save that money or use it more wisely.

WOW ......Now 3 bilion Kronor, because this is the time for election. Why the hell not before or when he became Prime Minister ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

@khurram.k: All politicians know that prior to election day they have to promise to make Sweden better and better - seems they didn't think of these practical ideas prior to there being something in it for them - political 'incentive'.

"The package involves the creation of 6,000 extra work experience placements, 13,300 job coaching places and 1,000 more opportunities in folk high schools."

Now, we just need a translation as to what the hell the above actually means...'work experience placements' 'job coaching places' ??

I guess maybe I'm not connecting the dots?

hahahaha, isn't this the guy who closed most AMS offices?

I don´t need job coaching, already been to it here, used to coach people myself!!!! the problem is not learning how to fins a job, the problem is integration idiot!

What are you going to do with job coaching when afterwards you are offered cleaning jobs even though you are a master or PHD?

Hmmm .... I must send him my address, I reckon, they owe me a lot, considering I am unemployed and have been for the past 18 months , I have not received a single kronor from the government ... all is good in " the 3rd best country in the world" ? As for the " job coaching saga" - there are not enough jobs for the unemployed , so do the "math" people.

With reference to these billions

in my humble opinion, much of the money being allocated should go to providing the possibility of the unemployed and the unemployable being able to upgrade their skills and competencies if they have any and to acquiring relevant ones for the job market such as computer skills and less to the so called job-coaching and how to perform at a job interview.

In any case, by Sunday I intend to elaborate on this,

Or that Sweden should consciously take on the role of The WHITE MAN's BURDEN

or that the discussion should have to take this kind of coloration
