Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Wednesday continued his war or words with Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, calling him a "small time" coach.

"In my book, a great coach solves his problems. A small-time coach runs from them," the 28-year-old Sweden forward told a press conference in Stockholm.

"There was only one person (on the Barcelona team) who wanted to get rid of
me," he insisted, explaining why he left the team and signed for AC Milan over
the weekend on an initial one-year loan with a pre-arranged €24 million ($31 million) permanent deal arranged for the end of the season.

He had spent just one year in Spain following a €50 million plus Samuel Eto'o switch from Inter Milan.

"I have never had problems with any coach before during my career," he said.

"But suddenly I had a thousand problems and I had no communication with 'the Philosopher'. No communication whatsoever. I don't know what his problem was," he said of Guardiola.

"I couldn't take it. I had no choice but to find a new place of work and I was lucky to go to a club like Milan. I am 28 years old and can not afford to lose a year sitting on the bench and watching the weather," he added.

Ibrahimovic is in Stockholm with his national team for a Euro 2012 qualifier against Hungary on Friday.

No matter where Zlatan's play, I will follow and support Zlatan. One of the top strikers in the World deserves to be on the field, not on the bench.

How much more full of himself can one player be? This dude is a walking cancer to any team. If he thinks Guardiola, who has won nearly everything there is to win, is a small time coach then what does he think of Hamren? Please let the Ola Toivonen-era begin ASAP!
08:27 September 2, 2010 by Kevtravels
Zlatan started off brillantly than toiled off. He just didn't fit into their plans which suck. Hope he continues his reign as KING of Serie A. Oh yeah Toivonen, can't wait to he heads to a big club :D

If only one player wanted to see the end of Zlatan, if it were Lionel Messi it would be more than enough for Guardiola!
08:43 September 2, 2010 by eppie
Zlatan, what do you expect if a team that won the champions league wants to trade their start striker for you and and still pay a lot of money extra....they can't be too smart. But it was your own greed that made you go to Barcelona. And it is the same greed that made you go to Milan, worlds most evil club. So even though I agree on the fact that guardiola is a small time coach, you can't be taken serious anymore.

Typical comments for a good athlete with an undeveloped mind, he fails to understand how lucky he is to be playing amongst the top players in the world in one of the most consistent teams around, and a coach that has a track record that speaks for itself, the Prima Dona does not accept that there are far better players and unless he acts and behaves like a team player, he sits on the bench period, he could not take it and blames the other side, face it man, you are not the best, you never have been you will never be, not with that attitude, what an arrogant p…k!
09:19 September 2, 2010 by stabbull
the best way to remain relevant is act fast before you are made irrelevant, and never accept you are dwindling. some players dont just adjust too quickly to new environments, it doesnt mean they are not good, and the coaches dont just have enough time to wait for them to pick. thats the business.

Slow, injury-prone, incapable of performing in big matches and with a huge ego. Zlatan then attacks one of the most successful coaches in European football. What is there to respect about him? When he's old and creaking around with knee problems I really do hope someone goes to the trouble of entirely crushing what's left of his self-respect. A great coach picks a winning team, a small-time coach spends forever trying to babysit an ego-crazed player who has never grown up.
11:08 September 2, 2010 by eppie
Come on people....stop saying Guardiola is a great coach. With his budget and players all of us would have maybe won the champions league twice in a row instead of his 1 time. A great coach can make a poor club win from a rich club.
11:40 September 2, 2010 by EtoileBrilliant
Rather than to comment on Pepe, Zlatan should look closer to home and criticize his agent Raiola. This man is better suited to the like of Max Clifford or an impresario than managing the career of one of Sweden's best talents.
13:27 September 2, 2010 by Elias06
This guy is the most overrated player in the history of football, he never scored an important goal in his career, Inter won finally the champions league when they get rid of him, barça wants to get rid of him after just one year... He thinks he is a top class player but the reality is that a young inexperienced player like bojan in barça can do better than him, he can barely run he has a bad heading, he is too slow, he has a big strike power thats all
13:52 September 2, 2010 by asifbit
What so ever Ibrahimovic is the best. Why can't people see that there was some problem because of Guardiola? In every match where Ibrahimovic scored Guardiola replaced him just after why? He doesn't want Ibrahimovic to be successful. If you count how many minutes he played and how many goals he scored you can see how great player he is and please also look at goals scored because of his passes too. Messi is never been a team player he is selfish guy. If you compare Barcelona with Inter in last session the big difference was that the Inter played as a team so they win but Barcelona 's forwards played selfish game specially Messi. So Ibrahimovic is a scorer and a good team player.
14:05 September 2, 2010 by Elias06
I watched all the games zlatan played with barça, he was always the guy to lose the ball, the one who cant control the ball well. He is talk but has a very bad heading,he is not fast...he is not even a scorer. Barça made a big mistake by recruiting him, he doesnt have the qualities to adjust to the barça system like david villa will, cuz he has the quality...
14:20 September 2, 2010 by asifbit
@ Elias

You should also see the matches he played before Barca. But even barca he is not keeping boll all the time to be greedy for goals he played with technique of passing ball to others who have better chance then you to score. Where as barca only want selfish players like messi. And he make big mistake to choose barca as team just because of barca's coach. He only like the player who never pass the boll to others and just take the boll from start and score till end. Why zalatan was fit in Inter because they were playing like a team there.
14:22 September 2, 2010 by eddie123
@rugla and eppie...

Great comments. The likes of Eto'o and Ronaldinho were brilliant at Barca but were discarded for the likes of Zlatan. In hindsight, Barca made the wrong choice since Zlatan wasn't the right profile player for the club. Moreso, one can not tell if the coach sanctioned the transfer involving Eto'o and Zlatan. Pepe had always shown interest in David Villa, not Zlatan.

Calling Pepe a small time coach is dismissive and insultive. It shows how classless Zlatan is and perhaps, explains that the problem lays with him. Pepe has not commented openly about Zlatan. Why can't Zlatan be humble like Beckham and do his talking on the field of play like Eto'o has done with Inter? In footballing terms, Pepe is an accomplished player and coach - period.

Needless to say, in the city of the blind, the one eyed man is made king. In Sweden, Zlatan may be hyped and revered but on the global stage, his pedigree is suspect. Against credible opponents, Zlatan's performance is mediocre and we all know this.
15:59 September 2, 2010 by Tutu
I will advise Zlatan to ..........- up his mouth and play football. He has no justification yet to criticise for criticing Pep. May Pep was right. The suprising thing is that the hulabalo about Zlatan was not report in both US and UK press
