Come on Lars, have some self dignity.
That statement probably converted a few more voters to the Sweden Democrats. Its rather ironic that the Sweden Democrats are actually labelled right wing when they attract so much support from voters who would usually vote for left-of-centre parties.
"The trio also agreed that the teaching profession needs a boost in status and promised to spend 12 billion kronor ($1.7 billion) on the sector in the first year of a Red-Green mandate period." You get a boost in status by making a profession more elite (terrible word for these guys, I know), not by throwing money at it.
"The party leaders all agreed that the monarchy should be abolished in favour of a republic, although Mona Sahlin argued that there were higher priorities on the agenda." This is just a ridiculous thing to be even talking about. This is almost as ridiculous as a party leader asking his girlfriend to marry him during a party debate.
I cried when the Berlin wall fell, then I didn't cry, they I cried again out of joy, when my friend sent me an SMS from Prag. Three years before the first ever SMS would be transmitted in the UK.
Then he played football with so and so, and then he never did when nobody had played with him.
But yeah he proposed on telly. That's what we will remember. What else he said or did, we won't remember. Political diversion on telly. How to avoid being really embarrassed 4 days before an election. Getting married.
