Government bureaucracy seems to be a constant growth market no matter which government rules the country it seems. My memory must be deceiving me because I seem to remember that the Alliance promised to REDUCE the number of departments during their 2006 campaign. Or was that promise only good for one term? Not that they actually reduced the number of bureaucrats during the first term either.
The number of departments is insane as is for Christs sake! Not to speak of all the different governmnet agancies. Noone even knows how many government agencies there are. There are atleast 500, but beyond that no one seems to really know. How about the agency for Arts and Crafts? Do we really need that? Or the agency for Culture and Leisure for the Merchant Fleet - Do we really need that one?! Not to mention all the museums that receive taxpayer support. Museums that are open because no one wants to visit them. How about the Native American Museum of Dalarna (Dalarnas indianmuseum). Or...well, it's infuriating to just think about it.
If you speak - or at least understand Swedish - I recomend the movie "1200 miljarder"
