Four people were refused entry to a lecture given by controversial Swedish artist Lars Vilks at Uppsala University on Thursday after going through a security check.

"They were already turned away at the security checkpoint and were never in the lecture hall," Uppsala Police press spokesman Christer Nordström told newspaper Expressen on Thursday.

Nordström did not disclose why the four people were turned away. Late last month, the university invited Vilks to complete his on freedom of speech which he first attempted to give at the university in May.

The initial lecture, however, was interrupted when Vilks was headbutted by a man attending the lecture.

An angry group of about 20 people out of the audience of about 250 students took offence when Vilks showed a film with naked gay men wearing masks depicting the Prophet Muhammad during the May lecture.

Vilks’ talk on Thursday touched on themes including violence, cruelty and injustice, and demarcating borders within the art world.

”In many ways, it has a very fitting title,” he told the audience.

The lecture hall was filled with spectators, including many journalists, as well as a large number of security guards and police.

Journalists and audience members lined up in the rain on Thursday as they waited to pass through security checks at the entrance.

The police presence was substantial, which about 130 officers dispatched to the lecture. Barricades were also erected as an extra precaution against possible disruptions.

The cost of the operation was estimated at 700,000 kronor ($104,907), according to news agency TT.

The expenses include the security guards responsible for checking identification and the x-ray machines at the entrance. Those costs will be covered by the university and are estimated at 50,000 to 70,000 kronor.

"This is a part of my daily existence. But when it's a public event like this, it can easily cost that much," said Vilks after his talk.

The event's comprehensive security arrangements included identity checks and x-ray machines, resulting in long lines to enter the hall.

I am sure that is money well spent.

Thanks Uppsala for spending my taxes wisely, on someone whose main objective was to insult others.

Public Peeing is OK if its not Offending anyone, butttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt .........................................................

Waste of money and resources. Why the hell are they spending this valuable money on this idiot they could donate it to poor children and people with poverty.

The university got its priorities wrong, you won;t avail anything from this bigot. He is hungry for fame by trying to offend as many people as he can.

with that money they can buy new computers in my superslow campus lab

Trow where are you ? did you manage to get an answer or throw both a rant & shoe @ Vilks as threatened to do so.....or perhaps you were one of the 4 they did lot let in,likely due to the police & sapo catching onto you your lunacy theory that Vilks was somehow involved with an attempted entrapment of you in having him knocked off!
20:31 October 7, 2010 by Iraniboy
It's funny I wonder what would happend if that figure is replaced by a Jewish figure.

Unfortunately freedom os speech is defined very strange!! Talking about racism becomes insulting but depiciting a naked gay with religious figure is not! World of irony and hypocrisy!

For those who think it is freedom of expression:

I wonder if your mother, wife or sister were depicited being blown up by a male pig. I'm sure it wouldn't come to the freedome of expression
20:46 October 7, 2010 by Noxtion
Sucks that they had to spend so much money on this, but I think the completion of his speech is what many people wanted. Freedom of Speech and all.

Its important to stand up for that right, if you don't then eventually it'll slip away from your society.

Besides, these people had to know about him in the first place. If they knew of some of the stuff he did and were offended before, why go in the first place? Some people just like making a fuss. But then people fuss back about their Freedom of Speech and then the other people get very offended...

Sorry to those offended, but seriously. Learn to lighten up. South Park and so many other shows/internet related things make fun of Jesus to the limit. Just take it with a grain of salt and focus on things worth your time.
20:57 October 7, 2010 by ww77ww
You have free speech - so long as you do not offend the invaders or a chosen few.

Had this been a show with similar treatment of Jesus, nobody would have cared.

Gross waste of money, but a drop in the bucket compared to the fortunes wasted in the social welfare scheme.
21:08 October 7, 2010 by Goodwill81
You can mock Jesus, spit on crusifix, burn national flags but if you touch Muhamed its "red alert" and killing time.

Don't get distracted Vilks, carry on - this West and we have a thing called "freedom of speech" down here and we plan to protect it.
21:32 October 7, 2010 by reason
I would probably find it hard to care less about Vilks. Still I think it is a good thing that he had this opportunity to finish the lecture. We must never allow a few violent people to dictate what may be said or not.

@iBoy: "Talking about racism becomes insulting but depiciting a naked gay with religious figure is not!"

It's not a question of if it's insulting or not. I may be insulted by your words, that's my right. I may think you're an idiot because of your words, that's my right. But saying those words is your right, and it's also my right to respond with words of my own. Just as it is my right to not listen or respond to you. There is the right to speak, but there is no right to be heard. The only reason we're hearing what Vilks has to say is because someone thought it a good idea to respond to his words with threats and violence. Because of this we unite behind his right to speak, by giving him the opportunity to be heard.
21:41 October 7, 2010 by asian123
that money is nothing. i am supporting him what he want to tell. any pisslam guys who has some problem with that they can go to court.
22:36 October 7, 2010 by Twiceshy
This is what muslims do not and and will never understand:

FREE speech means you have the right to insult anyone you want.

Free speech means I could burn the koran, wear a shirt with mohamed on the body of a dog - what ever I want as long as I do not hurt anyone else!

You may not like it but you don't have to! That is freedom. If you do not like it move to a country where they toss you in jail for free speech!
22:56 October 7, 2010 by asian369
@asian123... then why could you not support M.F Hussain who painted naked Hindu gods?
23:52 October 7, 2010 by here for the summer
Thank you Sweden, Uppsala University and Lars for standing up to the thugs who would stop freedom of speech.

To everyone who says that this would be different if it were another faith they are wrong as it applies in the West. All nations and faiths can be and are discussed and insulted in Europe but only one threatens people with death . It is time to grow up.
00:56 October 8, 2010 by Hindustani786
It's a FREEDOM OF SH_IT.

If someone denies HOLOCAUST in Europe, then it may land you in Jail. "Where is the freedom of speech".

If someone blames Europe and western countries for causing civilian casualties as terrorist causing civilian casualties. Then you may be denied entry in Europe as in the case of ZAKIR NAIK . "Where is the freedom of speech?"

The media is free in Europe to make VULGAR derogatory remarks about ISLAM, can they do the same thing with Judaism, Buddism, Christianity, Hinduism. No way. "Where is the freedom of speech?"

In other way Europe is becoming a safe haven for Terrorist like LarsVilk, Salman Rushdie, V Naipul, Tasleema Nasreen. Who are born to insult ISLAM. There is nothing left in their life apart from insulting ISLAM otherwise No one will give a SH_IT to them.

Lastly. The so called "ISlamic" i mean Muslim country rulers are so impotent that they cannot pass even a single law in UN which BAN people from insulting religion especially ISLAM as in the case of HoLOCauST.

freedom of SH_IT only get applauded just in case of ISLAM. What a hypocrisy.
00:58 October 8, 2010 by Cornelius Hamelberg
So, all of the above is what you'd like to tell - and so inspire the hell-bent terrorist/s who is/ who are determined to kick Lars Vilk's ass?
01:05 October 8, 2010 by Swedesmith
@Hindustani Lars Vilks is a terrorist? Who did he kill?
01:29 October 8, 2010 by Cartel Malone
I think it's a terrible others have to put their lives on the line protecting a guy who makes it a point to be offensive. Shame on the radicals, shame on Vilks.
01:46 October 8, 2010 by RememberAisha
By IraniBoys's username I think I can safely deduce he is an immigrant (like me) to the beautiful land of Sweden.

And he is an Iranian.

But his attitude/comments - and others like him make me laugh because its so ironic:

People like him fled their own countries because... they don't really have freedom of speech. The go to another country, and then get miffed about that country exercising its... freedom of speech!!

¤¤¤ If someone denies HOLOCAUST in Europe, then it may land you in Jail. "Where is the freedom of speech".

Go into a crowded station and deny the holocaust, see if anyone gives a toss other than to think you're nuts, but would probably be too polite to tell you anything.

¤¤¤ Then you may be denied entry in Europe as in the case of ZAKIR NAIK

Thats not really the whole story is it?

Anyway, he was denied entry (a choice given to every country) not killed or threatened to be killed.

Now go to the UAE/Saudi/**stan and start talking about Aisha, muhammads 9 year old wife - and how that makes him a pedophile. Then see how high you can count before you get your head bashed in.

¤¤¤ can they do the same thing with Judaism, Buddism, Christianity, Hinduism.

YES they can, and no one would try to slit their throats then send the film to Al Jazerra when they do so.

¤¤¤ In other way Europe is becoming a safe haven for Terrorist like LarsVilk, Salman Rushdie, V Naipul, Tasleema Nasreen. Who are born to insult ISLAM.

So to insult Islam makes you a terrorist? if you pedo prophet and his master is so powerful why does he not just use that power to strike down people who insult him and his pedo prophet?

Who exactly have Lars V, Salman R etc terrorized? do you know the meaning of "terrorist"? Remember Salman and Tasleena come from Muslim heritage... they were probably born to open the worlds eyes.

¤¤¤ BAN people from insulting religion especially ISLAM

Because people like me would not be able to stop laughing at such a silly law - that would be funnier than Lars V's cartoons!
07:49 October 8, 2010 by flintis
@rememberaisha: Well said, about we (the West) stopped cowtailing down to these hypocrites.

Aisha was only 6 yrs old when she was married to M'ammhed (51yr) the marriage was consummated 3yrs later when Aisha was 9yrs & she lived with him for 9 yrs. She was the daughter of his brother.
08:26 October 8, 2010 by Iraniboy
@RememberAisha

Attacking my personal situation which happened to be not true since I didn't fled, won't make your point any stronger. Lack of freedom od expression and double standards in which exists in Iran doesn't justify the same bad thins elsewhere? right?

It is very sad that most RACIST and ZENOPHIBIC people I have seen in Sweden are actually non-Swedes liek you, flintis,...that's because unlike in Sweden you don't learn at school to avoid personal attack, insulting on the ground of race,religion,...

2flitis I understand your unconditional hatred Islam and Muslim and anything smelling Arab ans sounds dark but refrain from lies and propaganda! You're another desperate immirant who needs to be taught those lesson which swedes learn at school but you lack!
08:53 October 8, 2010 by rafa1981
Sometimes I think that some news are meant to keep the personal angry discussing, so I will omit to dedicate so much time on this, but my summary is that if you are white, male and worker you are the last relevant individual for this society.

I also don' t know why the article finds that the information about the religion/nationality of the aggressor is of no relevance, after all this article is meant to cause anger.
08:57 October 8, 2010 by engagebrain
Good for Uppsala U - it is important to show that religious maniacs cannot censor public debate.

That a large sum of money needed to be spent is sad, but the expense is down to the activities of religious maniacs.
09:03 October 8, 2010 by calebian22
Hindustan,

Who is in jail in Europe because of Holocaust denials? There may be criminals who deny the Holocaust as well, but no one is in jail for ONLY denying the Holocaust.

It is okay to be a douchehat in Europe, but it is not a crime.
09:58 October 8, 2010 by calebian22
I would very much like to see some evidence of that, T-bone. Who is in prison for only denying the Holocaust in Europe? If they are in prison, they also included anti-Jewish remarks at the same time they denied a historical factual event.
10:56 October 8, 2010 by engagebrain
re Trowbridge H. Ford

Viks has never suggested that we should physically attack Muslims or Mosques, only that we have the right to comment on views and dogmas.

The core Muslim claim that Jesus was not the son of God is probably offensive to Christians but no attempt is made to censor Muslims, ban public statements and kill them.

In some countries Holocaust denial is llegal. But a fundamental difference is that this concerns a fact, a real event that actually happened. There is nothing factual or untrue about depicting anyone in a cartoon.

Religious maniacs kill their opponents - this is not acceptable.
11:05 October 8, 2010 by samwise
Hindustani786: "Lastly. The so called "ISlamic" i mean Muslim country rulers are so impotent that they cannot pass even a single law in UN which BAN people from insulting religion especially ISLAM as in the case of HoLOCauST."

Well, if you want a land banning insulting islam, you already have it, like Saudi Arabia. People in other places choose to handle it differently, they don't want to make their country another Saudi right now. Too bad, so sad.

I suppose there is an exodus going on that all the muslims are moving to Saudi Arabia from these disgusting western countries.

I never understand why people duplicate the stuff they themselves once ran away from. I mean, why bother? you already had it. But I didn't go to Harvard, I'm not sophisticated, what do I know?
11:06 October 8, 2010 by Audrian
I do not understand what this hack is complaining about (hack = a journalist whose work is low quality and lacks imagination) ? I think his views are very close to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) and should migrate to the US and to join it, unless he is thinking to create a branch in Sweden.
11:54 October 8, 2010 by cowboykodp
Lars Vilks and the likes are actually worst than terrorists.

No they have not killed anyone, but does anyone actually think his type of rhetoric is any different than the IMAMs in some countries who espouse the degradation of Jews?

As far as this retarded (pedophile) notion that you frequent blog readers are fascinated with...

Do you people actually realize that Mohammed lived like 1500 years ago?

What do you think the age for women getting married in Europe was just 150 years ago?
13:19 October 8, 2010 by RememberAisha
@Trow,

I mean you no insult but please seek help.

@Audrian,

Most of the muslims' views who comment here are very close to the islamic countries... perhaps you should go back to the land where all of you think the same backward way and put a pedophile prophet on your shoulders.

@Cowbow

¤¤¤ Do you people actually realize that Mohammed lived like 1500 years ago?

Well, it was not 6 years old... THATS for sure.

The problem with you muslims is that you still believe in that backward way of thinking of when (as you said) Muhammad lived 1500 years ago, a couple of examples:

@Remember my ass

Like I said, stop educating yourself with blogs. There are libraries. Maybe not in your country, but try....

Read:

" In general in the 1700's and before the age of marriage was 12.5 for girls and 13.5 for boys. Based on the fact girls generally mature sooner than boys. Also, though the life expectancy had increased in the 1700's it was still around 30 to 40 years. Early marriage was also encouraged because bloodlines were important as there was less chance of the girl being pregnant at the time of marriage. If the girl could not prove virginity on her marriage bed by staining the sheets with blood a man could divorce her easily. First born male children in a marriage were the primary inheritors of what the husband and father had accumulated. This was very important for royalty and often resulted in brothers marrying sisters or even fathers marrying daughters. It was all done to protect the royal bloodlines for inheritance of the throne. Arranged marriages were also quite common yet and many children were arranged into marriage from a very early age."

How about the cartoon where the 50 something year old pedophile , is holding 9 year old Aisha's hand, while leading her into his tent.

Nice try.
14:18 October 8, 2010 by bcterry
Pedophillia, and mass murder in the name of your god, is wrong now, and it has always been wrong.

You would think that this self proclaimed prophet, who claimed he was a messenger from his god, would have known better.

The truth is, he was a con man with a narcissistic personality disorder, who delivered his OWN messages to the ignorant, to suit his personal wants and desires, (i.e. sex with a 9 year old).

And the ignorant ate it up like candy, and continue to do so to this day.
14:25 October 8, 2010 by JPLL
When people from countries outside Europe specially from the middle east or Iran, India etc decide to come to countries like Sweden they should be aware of the rules and culture of that nation. If they feel the county supports something that is against their beliefs they must avoid travelling to such countries.

For example, if I get a job offer in Saudi Arabia I would not take it cos the rules of that country are against what I believe in. If I do travel there then I should respect the rules and culture of that place.
14:38 October 8, 2010 by orangecake
@Hindustani786

There is a huge difference between Holocaust denial and SATIRE.

Neither in my mind should be illegal. And as far as I know it isn't outside Germany/Austria, and that's only because of lingering guilt.

Lars Vilks is a hero of democracy, and in current times extremely brave.

Anyone who wishes him harm for words or expression, should leave Sweden and go back to the theolocratic hell-hole they belong.
14:59 October 8, 2010 by Goodwill81
@orangecake

Well put, dear Mr. orangecake :)

I mean, why do you people(agressive muslims) even bother. West obviously isn't good enough for you, you yourself don't actually think of changing/assimilating and living in harmony with the dominant values and culture, so do please go back to Islamistan and do please stay there (unless you think of drasticaly changing). Everyone is happy.
15:26 October 8, 2010 by Swedesmith
@cowboy

Vilks is worst than a terrorist. All he did was draw some (to some people) insulting cartoons. He is not out blowing up people in the street or flying planes into the sides of buildings in the name of his god. He is armed with a pen and paper, not a bomb.

Your priorities are a bit off.
15:32 October 8, 2010 by RememberAisha
@cowboykodp,

First, dont refer toe me as "Remember My Ass" because although I dont mind it, its disrespectful to the child victim of Muhammad. Her name was Aisha.

That text you copied and pasted:

Was it directly from a website that encourages child exploitation? like pedophalia and child porn?

I see you also ignored my links to what some imams think that its ok to have sex with babies from day 1 - and make a note, thats today not 1500 years back - because the quran says so.

You also replied to someone else:

"No buddy, Cartoons don't count either."

But they count enough to issue death threats, put a price on someones head, kill people around the world, slit peoples throats?
15:36 October 8, 2010 by cowboykodp

All the Iranian,and Indians I know are teaching at universities, are doctors and are running IT companies. So no points there for you my little minded friend.

@bctery

The quote above is "Europe in the 1700's". You numb skull.

Murder in the name of god, you say? Were the crusades ordered by Jesus or by people, in the name of god?

Pedophile? Were molestations throughout the world done by priests or was it written in the bible?

@Goodwill

Islamistan is not a country. Look it up.

Stop screaming, muslims are here to stay. And there is nothing you and your bigoted, self hating fellow immigrants can do. You will be deported long before any "evil Muslims".

And if defending a billion and a half people makes one pro-Islam, then you can add another 5 and a half billion more people to that list.

You people are a minority, ants, no use to humanity.
15:45 October 8, 2010 by JPLL
@cowboykodp

The point I was making was, if people from other countries do not agree with the laws and culture of Sweden then they should stay in their home countries. If they do come, they should adjust to Sweden rather than expecting Sweden to adjust to their religious customs.

16:19 October 8, 2010 by cowboykodp
@Jpll

Agreed 100%.

However, insulting people and grouping everyone in one category is counterproductive.

For example; Iranians, Indians and for the most part Iraqis, come from highly educated countries. They assimilate much faster. Religion for them is secondary, much like the western world.

People from Africa and east Asia, are maybe in need of more help to assimilate. This is due to lower literacy rate and therefore a clinging on to traditional ways of thinking and religious teachings.

No one is better than anyone else. This is not leftist, or communist or pro Islam as some meat heads like to say.

@iraniboy: I've no hatred for arabs etc & where are the lies:-

@Cowboy

You seem to be the self-appointed spokesman for Islam and yet you have stated that you are not a Muslim in previous posts. One wonders at your motivation. Could it be your deep felt love for humanity? Is that why you so arrogantly call anyone you don't agree with a ""little minded friend" or a "numb skull" or an "ant who is no use to humanity"?. Is this why you change "RememberAisha" to "remember my ass"? Is this why you want to unleash the tiger? Your love for humanity knows no bounds!

People who voted for or support the SDs are not all racists or Nazis. Many are simply concerned with the crime that has increased dramatically with the influx of immigration or the unwillingness of many immigrants to assimilate into Swedish society and adopt its core values (as so correctly stated by JPLL # 43). Lars Vilks is no hero in my mind, but he exposes the hypocrisy of the extremist Muslims who do not respect freedom of speech. Freedom of speech, democracy, womens' rights....these are all core Swedish values. I, and many others, fear that if Sweden was to become Swedistan, these would disappear. Many people who support the SDs just simply want to keep Sweden Swedish.

I owe you an apology after doing a little research. The application of the denial laws seems to be quite heavy handed in some European countries. Granted, the public cases are of known individuals, speaking on a broadcast platform of some sort, but the spirit of your assertion is correct. My bad.

To all of you Anti-Islam trolls:

1) Keep on bitching and moaning about immigrants (Specifically Arabs).

2) Continue in your destructive attitude by being disgusting, abusive and disrespectful to Muslims and others.

3) Keep on supporting the Israeli war criminals who burn poor children with white phosphorus bombs.

4) Keep on sending military troops and supporting coalition forces who aim to annihilate Muslims in their homelands.

5) Continue hurting us (Muslims) by all means.

At the end of the day, we will never ever change our religion, We will never ever give up our faith, We will always be proud and grateful Muslims.

P.S. And Muslims will always continue living inside your continent.

C'mon Marko, be honest. Did you not dance with joy when the planes flew into the twin towers? Didn't you celebrate and shout, "Death to America"? Didn't you feel joy that all those satanic Americans perished....? Tell the truth now.

Or can you? The practice of Taqiyya (which is more than a piece of cloth) allows Muslims to lie to infidels.

Yes, Marko, I'm an infidel. I can't believe that God allows people to lie and kill each other. Guess that makes me a terrible person.

Of course muslims have nothing but the deepest respect for christians and jews, and would never be disgustingly abusive and hurtful to either group.

Your books teach all the same things towards both religions, that you are whining about coming your way.

You teach hate of those groups to your children, even in the classrooms of islamic schools.

The hypocrisy of islam has no bounds.

@marko2010s: I always believed the Kurds to be an arab race, but YOU never mention the atrocities carried out on these people by the Turks.

It's funny how most of the bitching about Muslims is either from Muslims, refugees from muslim countries or antagonists. Why do you think that the majority of muslims have left their homelands? Maybe because they are normal people who are not religious fanatics & want to live a life without being forced to believe in the ancient ways of their faith.

Maybe it's time to relieve people of the pressures of these false beliefs & lets them decide (as it was before the prophets) what they want to believe in.

I don't give a toss what religion or race a person is , each & every one should be judged on their own merits, there are good & evil in every form of life .

Look, I swear I personally have no problem with infidels, and I believe that there are many Muslims are like me. Feel free to worship whatever you want and feel free NOT to worship anything. I believe there are many Muslims are like me and believe in the same principle.

The impression that I get from most of your comments is that you think Muslims are savage monsters who just want to kill you. Why is that ?

Muslims are just "Human beings" just like you, like asians and like africans. They have feelings which can be hurt, Why you and other justify and enjoy walking over their feelings? Does that give you special pleasure ? Since when insulting others become right and something to be defended?

freedom of speech in civilized societies cares about protecting the opinions of the other point of views, NOT the offensive opinions.

Finally, I want to conclude my post by quoting to you from the holy Koran what my religion (Islam) instructs me:

1) The holy Koran as it states in Surah 25. Al-Furqan, Ayah 63:

It states:"For, [true] servants of the Most Gracious are [only] they who walk gently on earth, and who, whenever the foolish address them, 50 reply with [words of] peace".

So, basically Allah is instructing (Muslims) to walk gently and politely on earth, and in case if some fools like (Lars Vilks) lash out at us, we (Muslims) must be polite to them and say to them "peace". This is the true Islam. True Islam isn't what you see on TV and fanatics claim.

To confirm go to: (Holy Koran: http://www.alim.org/library/quran/ayah/compare/25/63/Al-Furqan).

2) The holy Koran as it states in Surah 6. Al-An'am, Ayah 108:

It states:"O believers, do not insult those, whom these mushrikin call upon besides Allah, lest in retaliation they call bad names to Allah out of their ignorance.".

So, basically Allah is instructing (Muslims) NOT to insult infidels/mushrikin/kuffar, Because Allah knows that there are many creatures who are completely ill-mannered and want to hurt others by insulting them or insulting things they love.

To confirm go to: (Holy Koran: http://www.alim.org/library/quran/ayah/compare/6/108/do-not-insult-the-deities-to-whom-the-mushrikin-offer-their-worship-and-guidance-depend-on-the-attitude-of-individuals).

Marko, Marko, Marko

You are avoiding my question. What's the matter? Can't you give an honest answer to an honest question?

Did you or did you not feel joy because of 9-11? Was not your fierce Muslim pride stirred by the great victory over the (as you call it) Great Satan?

C'mon, Marko. It's only me an you here. I'm looking at you right in the eye....What do you say?
22:19 October 8, 2010 by flintis
@cowboykodp: the comments you make in #45 : Iranians, Indians and for the most part Iraqis, come from highly educated countries, I think you better look at facts, no disrespect to the people but in India the majority of the population are illiterate. I believe you'll find that in the middle & far east their is far more illiteracy because the country folk do not have access to education they are ignored by the ruling classes

@Swedesmith #57

I think insulting my religion and my prophet didn't satisfy, that's why you are insulting me personally. Why you think that about me? Who on earth wants to see dead bodies, massive destruction and tears? Why do you believe that I am such a heartless elements who enjoys seeing these horrible things?

Sorry if this disappoints you but that is NOT me and I will never be as you described.

@flintis #55 & @ bcterry #54

Both of you sound like brain injury victims. Anyway, the Verses from the Koran that I posted on my comment #56 are enough to shut you up. As for the suffering of Kurds by the non-Arabs (Turks), It is very wrong and as a Muslim I have alway condemns it. Also, I'll tell you one statement and I am sure that your level of intellect will not allow you to understand it, But I'll say it anyway: "Islam is perfect, people are not, Islam is not people".

Clear?
22:42 October 8, 2010 by flintis
@marko: what you wrote in #56 are excerpts from the koran, can't you think for yourself?

As I said in my post #55 most of the bitching about Muslims is either from Muslims, refugees from muslim countries or antagonists. Why do you think that the majority of muslims have left their homelands? Maybe because they are normal people who are not religious fanatics & want to live a life without being forced to believe in the ancient ways of their faith.

Insultings peole intelligence like you have the habit of doing only reveals your own ignorance

@ Marko

Did I insult your prophet, you or your religion.? No. I simply asked a sincere question because I want to know the answer. I want to understand what is in your heart. So far you have only answered my question with more questions. You are like the Artful Dodger.

Are you willing to give me a straight-up answer to a straight-up question? I'll repeat it for you. Do you approve of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center commonly known as 911? Simple question. Please answer truthfully.
22:55 October 8, 2010 by flintis
@marko: Islam is not perfect, nothing is perfect it's the way everything is made with slight imperfections.

Neither jesus nor mohammed were perfect, there was one prophet that was nearly perfect tho' & that was John, the prophet from Liverpool England, the Makers true son, Lennon

How can islam be perfect, if it's christianity and judaism that are so?

You'll have to take a back seat to both, as perfection has already been confirmed by the others that came before you.

You could always be a dhimmi in the chtistian and judaism world.

Of course you will have to pay the jizya to both groups.

@Marko;

I must apologize for all these bigots who seem to be bullying you. I know you are intelligent and will not stereotype all non- muslims.

Great quote from the movie "Kingdom of Heaven":

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath.

Cowboy, or should I stoop to your level and call you cowpie? No, that would be too childish. So you are rushing to the aid of you buddy, Marko. Funny how when Uncle and Flintis disagree with you, you call them girlfriends. But that's just your style. Low brow.

Don't you think he can answer for himself? Don't you think he has the intestinal fortitude to speak his own mind? How about it Marko. I'm calling you out, son. Mano a mano.

Answer the question.

@Swedesmith

By all means, come to my level.

The day you defend people of all backgrounds, the day you favor peace over hate, the day you feel like ending your meaningless tormenting of others, then you can dream of being at my level. You are truly a sorry excuse for man.

Which part of my comment#59 you didn't understand?

I answered you already! Anyway, I'll repeat my answer: NO I didn't dance with joy when the planes flew into the twin towers. Also, I'm not kind of person who enjoys seeing others get hurt or killed.

As for your comment#61 "Did I insult your prophet, you or your religion.? No."

Well, BIG YES, you mocked my religion in a very abusive and hurtful way in your comment#20 on (http://www.thelocal.se/29288/20100928/), Do you deny that?
00:50 October 9, 2010 by cowboykodp
@Swedesmith

Your kind of questions have no answer. Anyone with an ounce of decency can surmize for themselves the answer.

Your asking someone to prove their innocence as opposed to "seeking the truth". My memory of the 9/11 "celebrations" as you put it is a bit different. For the sake of argument, here is your answer:

There were a few people in occupied lands in Palestine who were rejoicing. Other than that, every single country in the world, including muslim countries were holding candle light vigils. But don't let facts get in your way, and wake you from your slumber, and hate.

A little definition for you:

Xenophobia is an irrational, deep-rooted fear of or antipathy towards foreigners.

Note specially the word IRRATIONAL. Need I say more?
07:51 October 9, 2010 by Cornelius Hamelberg
Bishop Eva Brunne rails about racism, and "respect" in very general terms, but keeps a tight lip about Lars Vilk's provocations. Are these racist provocations helpful in Christian - Muslim relations? Do they not violate the Golden Rule?

Why hasn't the church raised its voice about Vilks+?

What would Jesus have said about Vilks today, if he were on earth? Would he have encouraged him?

N.B: Our Father is in heaven and on earth!

@Marko

Sorry for the delayed response. Had to get my beauty sleep. God knows I need it.

Glad to hear a straight answer from you. I am relieved to hear that you are not in favor of murder in the name of God. Now, to the point of all this...

You have called Americans satanic because of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I have never been in favor of these wars and have voted against those who were and have spoken out against them in numerous occasions. There are a lot of people in America who do not support war. Lots. In fact, there was a new regime voted in recently for just that very reason. So how can we all be satanic?

You have spoken out against Jews and called them satanic as well. I'm quite sure that there are many Jews who against inflicting pain and suffering. God knows the Jews have suffered much.

There are people who are against (or at least questioning) immigration and have legitimate reasons to be so. Like the old lady in Landskrona, for example. They are not all racists and Nazis.

Painting all people with a broad brush is wrong. Calling people racists and bigots and Nazis because they don agree with your views is wrong. Hey, I don't hate all Muslims. I have met Muslims before who were nice enough. A bit clannish (Quran, lll, 28) but pleasant. But I absolutely do not support those who support terrorism. I may not be a man of the cloth but I am pretty sure God (or Allah as you call him) is not in favor of killing His children. There are only two occasions where it is okay to kill anything. One is to eat and the other is to protect you and your family from imminent and immediate danger. Killing in the name of religion is wrong and goes against the very principles of religion.

So ends my preaching for today.

And, seeing as how you answered my question, I will answer yours. Yes, I did mock your religion in an earlier post. I apologized then and will again. I am sorry, I can be a prick sometimes. Forgive me if it is in your capacity to do so, or not. The world will continue to go on either way.

@Swedesmith

Yes I called the US and Israel (NOT Jews!) satanic and lunatic states, Because I believe they are (A least till now!).

There's something very important I must draw your attention to which is "Distinguishing". I have never ever lash out at jews and I am against anyone (Including Muslims) who do so. I used term "Satanic States" to refer to the Israeli war criminals who burn kids, to the Israeli leaders with their aggressive policy in destroying poor palestinians houses and building illegal settlement.

I believe there are many great people in Israel, kinder, nicer and better than me. Simply they are human beings just like me. I want you to know that Yes we Muslims have deep hate to the kids' eater (ariel sharon, gabi ashkenazi, ...etc) NOT to the nice Israeli doctor or the great scientists such as ada yonath.

Same applies for the US.

Who is it that is congratulating Lars Vilks?

What the whole Muslim world sees and what the people of Sweden note, is that approximately 700,000 Swedish Kronor of the Swedish Tax Payer’s Money has just been spent in setting up Lars Vilks’ little academic lecture to his little duck-pond audience in which – astagfirulah - he “defends” his despicable act of painting the prophet of Islam, salallahu alaihi wa salaam–– as a canine animal, fully knowing that this is very offensive to Muslims.

Vilks knows what he’s doing, knows that he is deliberately provoking Muslims - because he has all the fallout from the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy behind him. But he too wants to take the risk (trusting in the love, affection and protection of the Swedish Police) – and he has finally become ”famous”.

He could become even more famous posthumously, should someone do him in now, since - apparently - he would like to be martyred in the name of freedom of artistic expression and go down in history with this kind of particular infamy, for all posterity. To hasten his martyrdom he could travel to some serious Muslim country – just one – and soon enough he will be going to where he deserves to go pronto, even if everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody not wants to die - or as Woody Allen says, “I am not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.”

Question is should people then piss on Vilks’ grave in the name of freedom of expression? Indeed, “the grave's a fine and private place” – and so are people’s reputations – and I’m especially now talking about the high regard in which every Muslim holds the Prophet of Islam, salallahu alaihi wa salaam and that even normal people hold for their ancestors when they say R.I.P.

Vilks could have written and published his so called “defence” in his blog, or in one of the papers that support him.

Whilst we have access to Bishop Brunne’s sermon on respecting others, we still do not have access to Vilk’s self-defence or what should be most forthcoming – namely his apologies - or is he too big and too artistic to understand that he is offending other people’s sensibilities, because he does not have any, himself (sensibilité)?

With regard to Bishop Eva Brunne’s sermon to all those who were assembled before her, to hear her talk about respect for other people ( the world of 6.7 billion people minus 9 million Swedes) I should like to point to the Prophet of Islam’s last sermon in which he says,

“All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.”
