Granddad took wrong child from daycare

A grandfather who agreed to pick up his grandchild from a daycare in Örebro in central Sweden on Monday took the wrong child, prompting the school to review its procedures.

But he left with the wrong child, only realizing his mistake later that afternoon.
Upon realizing the child he had with him was not his granddaughter, the man contacted the school immediately and went back to return the child he had taken by mistake.
When he arrived, the child’s parents were waiting, as were the parents of the child the grandfather was supposed to have picked up.
Even more alarming was the revelation that the girl who the grandfather picked up by mistake didn’t have a maternal grandfather, a fact which had not been passed along to the children’s teachers.
“There were gaps in our procedures which we’re trying to correct right now,” school director Ulla Maj Bondeson told the newspaper.
According to Bondeson, the little girl who was taken by mistake wasn’t negatively affected by the incident.
She added that all parents at the nursery school will be informed on Wednesday about what happened.

Parents to grandfather: You brought the wrong child!!!
Grandfather: You should come and visit more often! No wonder the kid was screaming his head off!!!
In our daggis, I wanted to send invitations for her birthday party to other parents, and they wouldn't provide me their contact info, nor allowed me to leave a letter for them. The accepted procedure was they could communicate my phone number to the other parents, and they had to call me if they wanted to. I find it a bit crazy.
Imagine.. you left your infant in a nursery... and haven't said that a grandpa or an uncle or whoever will get the child, meaning ..." you will pick up the child" in the afternoon they simply inform you that " her uncle has already taken her"!
I guess then is a little bit late!

and the people responsible were none the wiser
is there a stupid area in Sweden? It is strange to find a place with so many dumb people (they must be all blondes...... and I thought I was the only blonde one)
please tell where this place is, as I need a new blonde wife!

when i had to pick up my step son from kinder garden and the teachers didn't know me, they asked my step son if he knew me and who i was. i really, really do not understand how this could have happened. doesn't grandpa talk to the child he is picking up? how are you today, do you want fruit when we come home, should we go to the playground...
im just amazed and confused.
