Too little information here to present a valid opinion, but from what I read it seems the SD really don't have any answers to anything. Whatever issues people talk about, it seems SD leaders (and supporters by extension) just respond with stop immigration. Seems to me they really don't know anything else. It seems quite foolish and naive to think all Sweden's problems will be fixed by stopping immigration.

I wonder if they will ever be able to present their opinions within a simple logical framework, that might be able to actually convince people.

@Alf Garnett: Unfortunately eugenics got it's big start in the USA. The first big proponents were people like Margret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. It's original name was American Eugenics Society. They took their ideas from Darwinism branding it Social Darwinism. A pretty good history can be seen on Youtube if you search for Maafa21. It explains the roots of the eugenics movement. In fact Hitler got his ideas from this American movement and even gave an award to the head of the American Eugenics movement. But to be fair, the movement may have originated in the US, but quickly spread among the wealthy and elites of Europe. Yes, I'm an American. Yes, eugenics continues in Sweden. Why do you think we allow and pay for third world women to come here for abortions? Not because folks in power believe it's a woman's right. It's population control of the third world. Sweden - still doing it's part. And that was before the Swedish Democrats came into power.

I am not a supporter of SD but I think they are making quite a logical statement. Sweden today is already in a mess when it comes to jobs, demographic changes, etc. It is not a one day work to change all the wrongs and make right. And the socialist nature of Sweden is making the problems worse.

So a logical reason would be put a halt on importing people from outside, make a stable environment and concentrate on solving the current issues. That way you have a fixed variable which provides more probability of solving an issue.

The social dems are idiots if not anything else. Their strategy is to make a secondary class of citizens comprising of immigrants. If you follow their logic, you will see high class natives who can afford everything and a second class immigrant society always in need. And it is not just the immigrants that this policy will affect. It will also affect native swedes who will have to compete with the immigrants effectively bringing down the overall salary levels and standards of living.

Such a policy might work in an economy state but will not work in a socialist state. Lower cost of living is simply not supported in Sweden because of its socialist nature. For ex. all persons today can afford to eat an 80 SEK lunch and a janitor can afford similar luxuries that a bus/taxi driver, a barber, a computer engineer, etc. can afford.

If the proposal from social dems gets accepted, one will have a society with multiple divisions and disparities which will only lead to increase in class/economy parity based racism. This kind of society will ultimately lead to more crime and set a seed where the rich become richer and the poorer will remain poorer.

And no, I am not a native swede. i.e. I am an immigrant who was asked to come to Sweden by a high tech company because of my skills. And my country is facing similar problems like Sweden is because of stupid policies of politically correct parties like social dems.

Two things I think are worth mentioning about your response.

I think you missed my point, there are no logical points in the argument that was presented here. Of course it is easy to make some points after the debate is over, that just proves you didn't have the answers anyway. And to assume that all of Sweden's problems would be solved by stopping immigration is ridiculous at best. That is the only answer that SD provides to any matter (except for taking Swedish troops out of Afghanistan)

And secondly, of course a non Swede would think like you do, since you really don't understand the Swedish psyche. This has been what Sweden has been doing for the past 30 years, and except a (very small 5%) minority, everyone thought that it is the correct thing to do. Of course this does not mean that it is perfect and doesn't need fixing (in my opinion it needs a huge overhall), but just because SD voices are raised and are the loudest does not mean it really is an issue. Playing on fear is probably the oldest trick in the book to get into power.

But it is quite interesting that that as a party that prides itself as "being Swedish", and defending "Swedishness" it rarely attracts Swedes and mostly attracts non-Swedes like yourself or many others in this forum. I wonder could it be because Swede's actually like their (socialist) system and it just doesn't make sense for you as a foreigner?

I agree with your points and I don't deny it. SD is racist and their tones should change for people to do any logical communication with them. And one can't blame everything on immigration. But other parties needs to address problems by looking at the root causes and not just shelving them off under the carpet.

BTW, I didn't see any comments on the other points I raised on social dems policy of hiring immigrants at a lower wage, most of my post was on that one.

Maybe immigrants to Sweden are more aware of how adverse and uncontrolled demographic changes leads to uncontrollable situations in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society. And maybe Swedes are too politically correct for their own good.

But the point is: Racism should not be allowed/tolerated, be it in the sense SD is doing or the social disparity/apathy that social dems are proposing. And the way to go about is to reduce the disparity in the society in all levels, be it color, caste, creed, money, etc. Thats what socialism stands for.

I definitely agree that the Swedish immigration systems needs reform and maybe even an entire overhall, it is just not sustainable. I just wanted to point out what I meant more clearly. That is why I did not disagree with the other points, as they were valid comments.

All of the commenters fail to mention that the SD got a lot of seats in the Swedish parliament. This means a lot of folks voted for them. Will the SD opponents just try to shout them out of existence, call them racists, and dismiss the concerns of this bloc of voters. I believe the opponents do not wish to face the issues and concerns of the voters for the SD.

You are wrong. It was Hitler who copied Sweden when it came to eugenics and ethnic cleansing. Not the other way round!!!

The fact is that in 1921 The Swedish Riksdag voted for the world's first racial biological institute called Statens Rasbiologiska Institut in Uppsala. Their justification was that it was "a nation's right and duty to protect itself against reproduction of people and individuals who were destined from the start for prison and mental asylum". So the inspiration for racial biology did not come from Nazi Germany, because it did not exist there in 1921.

The "entry-level work" on government support is a possibility for companies to basically kick an old employee out and then hire another migrant or perhaps a student/part time worker just to get the support money. Of course I´m only suspecting, but it isn´t that hard to imagine it happening.

I´ve heard people are "smoked" out or maybe urged to drop their career after a few years as they become too expensive for the employer.

Just to continue a bit on my little "conspiracy-theory", I used to drive a truck. When i got my license there was no EU schooling, you just went into driving school and you got yourself the c-license in a few weeks.

Nowdays you must have an EU- schooling for this. The young guys at this "basic course for logistics" say it takes 3 years to get through this. You´ll have an "intermediate driving permit" so you can go drive a truck in a transport company, while going to school at the same time.

Actually, you learn how to drive a truck or lorry in about 2 weeks. Three years would teach you to repair the whole damn lorry, but they teach them how to unload, drive a forklift (permit for that too) tie the load and get ADR-permit, HYGIENE-permit, and so on.

3 years. That´s right. THREE YEARS just to learn how to drive a vehicle that you can take stuff from place A to place B with.

And all of us older drivers have to go to a course too, to be formally proficient for something we´ve been doing for 20 years.
