True, but it is of course without a doubt that these people were muslims. I think we should not be afraid to say that, but we should also not like the first couple of commenters generalize; Stigmatize a whole group of people for the deeds of a few. There are many muslims in Sweden bu you don't hear something like this very often.

It is important that a state like sweden (but also others) shows that we don't have problems with muslims but we have problems with these kinds of actions. And we have to show that people who choose to do these kinds of things should be punished hard and should not be able to hide behind the fact that for them this is normal.....so no lower punishment because of their religion.

The absence relevant material is pretty typical of the Locals journalism.

Poor doctor, he was just trying to do his job to help the poor bleeding woman. It shouldn't matter what sex/race/religion/etc, he was. I'm sure if he didn't try to help her he'd be in the news for discriminating against these people.

People anyway guess the missing piece of information as you see here, so this really does not work. Perhaps the doctor would have been wise to appear in full drag! Ruby red lipstick, false eye lashes, heavy foundation, fishnet pantyhose(WITH seems), indigo blue eye shadow, pink satin gloves up to the elbows, 7-inch spike heels, an outrageous sequin spagetti-strap dress, bee hive hairdo, door-knocker earrings, no underwear, and pitch black mascara. At least then it would have been "woman".

I don't believe that color / religion / ethnic group should be cited on the news AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE FACTS.

It was not the case here, since the attack clearly had religious motivations. In this case why not be honest and reveal which religion claims a wounded woman should bleed to death in stead of be seeing by a male doctor?

The problem with your statement is that you are the one connecting religion and/or ethnicity (I am not sure I understand which one you find relevant) to the facts.

The fact is two macho idiots assaulted a doctor and they should be punished accordingly.

The man, wherever he may be from and whatever religion he may have, is obviously an unfit husband, father and citizen. His wife and child may need emergency medical care in future, if he has a propensity to assault the medical staff, their lives may be at risk.

There is no law that says that the media is not allowed to publish details on ethnicity.

So let me get this straight. The woman is in an emergency situation, doctor arrives to help woman, husband gets angry that the doctor is male, proceeds to assault doctor with help of brother. All the while woman is bleeding heavily awaiting medical treatment. Sounds like muslim logic to me.

So if the male doctor was not permitted to be in the room then why was the brother permitted to be there?

My sympathies go to the doctor and the woman. Clearly her family members have no good sense and even less concern for her health and well being. IF they are Muslims ( which is not clear from the article) and they objected to the doctor because of gender, then they should have realized that in a life and death situation the gender/religion of the doctor becomes a moot point. The problem is that these nuances of common sense situations are lost on people who have never been allowed to think independently. GENERALLY SPEAKING, uneducated/culturally illiterate immigrants and asylum seekers coming from nations plagued by dictators and tyrants are forced to view the world and, yes, the religion of Islam in terms of black and white. My mother - Church of England - in 1961 went into a female staffed maternity hospital in Clapham, London, UK, to have me, It was by choice and an option for women in the UK who felt more comfortable being treated by women.
